Opened.
I can get behind a cut, judging by the wick check you gave.

There are multiple issues with this trope. First of all, its page is a stub. It's just two paragraphs, with no examples, image, or quote. I don't believe it was run through YKTTW/TLP, though I also don't know what the process was like back in 2013 when the trope was created.
Second of all, it's not thriving. Since being created in 2013, it's only gathered 30 wicks (one of which is an index) and 248 inbounds- and those inbounds might come from the fact that 'blank stare' is a common phrase. For comparison, its 'verbal version' Flat "What" has 2400 wicks and 42,000 inbounds.
Thirdly, issues with the wicks themselves. The wick check below shows that 17 of the 29 wicks are potholes. Of the remaining 12, 2 are potential misuse and 10 lack the full context. In other words, the usual sort of problems that can plague character reaction tropes.
Misuse
Zero Context Example
-No context at all:
-Explains what causes the blank stare, but nothing about the stare itself (what expression it's supposed to convey, or whether it's dramatic/comedic in nature):
Pothole
Lastly, I don't know if this trope is different enough from Flat "What" or Stunned Silence- particularly the latter, since being shocked into silence usually goes hand-in-hand with staring at the thing that caused said shock. I'm leaning towards wanting Blank Stare cut unless a case can be made about it being distinct from those two tropes, in which case it might just need some general touch-up.
