I thought he did... then I realized I confused The Punisher with Max Payne.
So why did Nostalgia Critic stop doing Bum reviews?
I can only assume that he just lost interest.
One line from one of his later Bum Reviews that I think is now Hilarious in Hindsight is in his one for Godzilla (2014) when he refers to Elizabeth Olsen as "...the good-acting Olsen sister. No, not that one. No, not that one. Yes, the one you didn't even know existed!" Now she's more famous than Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

Before she joined the MCU, I only knew Elizabeth Olsen as "the actress from Silent House."

With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationx4 From what Doug's been saying, he's lost the energy for that. And as he got older, he finds it more difficult to pull off a scream. (Notice that whenever Bum appears on the NC, he doesn't really shriek like he used to. Also one of the reasons why Doug has mostly moved on from "angry" reviews.)
Stray observations:
- "That was gonna be the episode where I reveal I'm Ask That Guy!" Hey, speaking of a series of videos that Doug hasn't done in years!
- "Feel free to block Citizen Kane if young Charles looks a little too much like a girl at any point, you won't be missing anything important."
- The animation style of the Vulture was so great I wanted to stand up and applaud in the theater.
- "Yeah, that's something a normal person would say here."
- "Yeah, we know."
- Surprised Doug never mentions the voice cast.
- Wait, they're actually leaving the studio? I wonder how this will affect Jim Jarosz's Space Trash.
Also, Doug is soliciting opinions on his Facebook on whether to cover Hazbin Hotel as a vlog (which would be released earlier) or as an Untitled Review Show episode (which would be out in a few weeks). Just a person. He/him.
Loved this film as a kid and I remember not even being sure if it holds up. I mean, there have been sooooo many worse Robin Williams movies there's no comparison, but there have also been soooo many better ones. He recently reviewed Aladdin, so I guess he's on a Robin Williams streak. I love how this film has a practically evenly split 51% on Rotten Tomatoes, so we can REALLY decide for ourselves if it holds up or not. Eh, close enough. I saw waaay worse stuff in my childhood that doesn't hold up.
I'm surprised he hasn't done a "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" month yet. Then again, he's reviewed so much stuff with them, he might not even need one. Maybe he would review "Mutant Mayhem", "The Next Mutation" and the first episodes of the 2003 and 2012 cartoons if he ever did a TMNT month?

Stray observations:
- "Oh that reminds me, we have to visit your mother's grave today."
- I love a good One Froggy Evening reference!
- "He's wearing a tux, that's more upscale."
- "Hope that didn't give you an impression they were alive or anything!"
- "Damn, girl, read the cemetery!"
Next month: Superman Month! (Doug initially wanted to do an Indiana Jones Month but after the On Deadly Ground review got demonetized for two uses of "fuck" being too close to each other, they decided not to check what YT would do about an incessant use of the word "Nazi" and swastikas.)
Just a person. He/him....Huh, he hasn't reviewed Jumanji until now? I thought he did!
When was the last time he reviewed a series? I remember in the early days he would review the show as a whole, before moving to its first few episodes.
Hmm.. Doug's already reviewed Superman Returns and Man of Steel, though the latter was a while ago. I guess this one will just be centered on the Donnverse movies?
I imagine he'll do the first three Superman movies, yes. Too bad he already did Superman 4. I wonder what would take up the last slot.
It's been 3000 years…IIRC, when Doug first mentioned a possibility of a Superman Month a few months ago on his Facebook, he said he would probably do the first three Christopher Reeve movies and the Snyder Cut.

Just a person. He/him.He could always do a review of the 3-part World's Finest film from 1997. I mean it did technically come out as "The Batman/Superman Movie: World's Finest" on VHS/DVD, so I think that would count.
I was thinking he'd do a review of the 2003 and 2012 early episodes like he did for two other TMNT shows.
Up, up, and away! It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's Superman Month!
First up: Superman: The Movie.
It's been 3000 years…Stray observations:
- I like how you can see Tamara waving the cape.
- "Honestly, I'm hoping he doesn't enslave them all."
- "We have dinner tonight. For us and the family!"
- "Eh, to be fair, it's how Biden thinks planes fly anyway."
- "You will sometimes believe a man can fly!"
Oh, and as a test, this week's Q&A stream is simulcast to both Twitch and YouTube.

Just a person. He/him.The funniest thing that happened to me while watching this was thinking that he was showing a clip of The Phantom Menace when talking about bad sci-fi, when it was actually John Carter. I am sooo used to him trashing that flick, it legitimately surprised me when he brought up a sci-fi film he didn't review that wasn't one of the Star Wars prequels.
Considering how often he plays as this version of Zod, I'm surprised that it took until now for him to review Superman II.
It's been 3000 years…The funny thing is, I know there are people out there who would review these films like he does and make a joke about Christopher Reeve becoming a quadriplegic in Real Life. Doug would find that to be in poor taste.
I mean, if a joke's funny then do it. It might be anyone's guess to think you went too far.
Stray observations:
- "Actually, no, I know nothing about how this was possible."
- "Did he insist on more lenient child abuse laws?"
- "I thought only Jesus and Trump could do that!"
- ...Hm, is the remark about young YouTubers a self-criticism?
Wow that part about YouTubers letting there ego get the run rampant is awkward coming from him.
Good review otherwise.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI think the comment was definitely self-aware given the awkward pause he did.
My favorite line: "A lot of cops are gonna get fi— paid leave."
I kinda wish he had gone a bit more in detail about the differences between the two cuts, although his talk of the Brando scenes was cool.
Speaking of which, the Brando clip at 14:22 is that from after Lois and Clark had sex? 'Cause Lois isn't wearing any pants in that shot...
I like that he compared the shots of Zod's gang falling into mist, to Elsa from The Last Crusade falling into mist, as both of those shots have always reminded me of each other.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationInteresting that he used a clip from his Top 11 Dumbest Superman moments which made me check and yeah that video is almost 15 years old. How time really flies!
Surprised he hasn't reviewed any of The Punisher films by now, given how low quality they are. Hey, no one's been to the Channel Awesome website in a long time, anyway.
