…Do we have a trope for this kind of "endearing handicap" premise?
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Well, I just finished watching Maquia, and I liked it pretty well, overall. The thematics were a bit all over the place and I really dislike The Magic Goes Away as a setting trope, but overall I quite liked it.
I do think it would have been better if Maquia and Leilia ended up living in a cottage near the village and lived as the immortal elf godmothers to generations of village children, beloved by the community and enriched by their experiences providing love and care to families across the years, but that's what fix fic is for.
It's been fun. There was that post credit scene where you presumably see them and the dragon with their descendants.
But yeah I get what you mean
Yeah, that's true. I dunno, I just want to see Maquia and Leilia happy together. They deserve it.
It's been fun.Absolutely
I definitely have a huge soft spot for this film so I don’t really criticize it, it really got me emotionally
For food-related family/love fluffies, I stumbled upon Yaiteru Futari.
30-year old I.T engineer Kenta Fukuyama is used to getting stood up by his dates, so when the calm and collected graphic designer Chihiro Yamaguchi turns out to be a keeper, he's quite surprised, especially since he ended up taking her to a yakiniku restaurant without thinking. But just as he thinks he's found "the one", he's unexpectedly transferred from his job in Tokyo to Hamamatsu in Chizuoka. As he breaks the news to Chihiro, believing this is the end for their relationship, Chihiro responds: "Well, why don't we just get married, then?"
Chihiro starts commuting to Hamamatsu every weekend (At least, until she decides to quit and work as a freelancer instead), where Kenta spends the weekends cooking delicious food for her and showing off his passion: BBQ. And so starts their married life as they start to get to know each other better. W.A.F.F. and lots of tasty cooking ensues.
My God, the main couple are so sweet together that I might actually ge cavities. Not to Tastes Like Diabetes levels, mind you, since they are adults, but you look at them semi-awkwardly stumbling through their new life together and you just go: "Aaaaaw." And of course, like any cooking manga worth its salt, mouth-watering descriptions of foods and how to cook them aplenty - You will get hungry reading it.
My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming.I found Gal Gohan. Almost halfway through it despite spoiling the ending for myself. I really love it though.
I really am fond of that manga too
Chapter 12 of Yumemigaoka Wonderland is out!
This time it’s about an up-and-coming idol who meets with an Identical Stranger… Who looks, sings and dances exactly like her… Yep, it’s a good ol’ doppelgänger story, and another two-parter.
I like how Kurea has become this series’ Knight of Cerebus of sorts… Whenever she shows up, you just know things are gonna get a little fucked up. And honestly, so far I’ve enjoyed the horror chapters a lot more than the comedy ones. I still love Masuda’s comedy, but after all this years his tricks have obviously become a bit more predictable − how could they not? So I’m much more interested in him venturing out of his comfort zone.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo. While buying a volume of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, I came across the series Dragon Goes House-Hunting. This series is about a red dragon named Letty who meets up with an elf named Dearia, who offers to help him find a home to live in, as he has been kicked out by his parents. They later find a princess named Nell (real name Andriana) and a eagle chick that Letty names Piyovelt (nicknamed Pip). Nell & Pip then join the two (Letty & Dearia) on their adventures, while running into a group called the Yuusha. Currently I'm up to volume 6 of the series.
The anime for Dragon Goes House-Hunting anime is on Funimation, too
Double-post to add a new manga:
Seijo-sama? Iie, Toorisugari no Mamono Tsukai desu! ~Zettai Muteki no Seijo wa mofumofu to Tabi o suru~
or
Saint? No, Just a Passing Monster Tamer! ~The Completely Unparalleled Saint Travels with Fluffies~
Kanata Aldesaire is blessed with beauty, intellect, and physical ability, she is regarded so highly that, when the 15 year olds of her year gather to be given their choice of fantasy job classes from a list determined by God, everyone assumes she's a shoo-in for the highly regarded class of "Saint". Indeed it's there among the many, many choices but, to everyone's shock, Kanata very deliberately picks the lowliest class of them all: Monster Tamer.
Y'see, Kanata is a reincarnate who spent her life in Japan an isolated Ill Girl. She didn't mind this for the most part, but she did have one regret and, when she ultimately died, she was given a chance to make up for that regret in a new world. That one regret: She never got to touch fluffy animals, and she really really wanted to. Even in her new life, however, Animals Hate Her so she took to heart her father's comment that if normal animals won't come to her she should become a Monster Tamer. Thing is, the reason Monster Tamers have such low regard is that one's physical abilities are massively reduced in exchange for the ability to tame monsters such that she wouldn't even be able to tame a slime. However, Kanata's isekai cheat power is a life and body inverse to what she had before, as strong as she had been weak, as full of meetings as she had been isolated. As a result, all the reduction of becoming a Monster Tamer did to her was drop her down from "One-Punch Man" level to "Two-Punch Man" level... at worst.
So while everyone tries to process how and why this child with so much potential would go for the single worst class imaginable, the only thing Kanata has to say is "Fuck all y'all I'm off to pet the fluffies!"
Kanata wastes no time rescuing a tiny cat monster from giant birds that would have killed it without her intervention. Once recovered, the cat introduces itself as Zaphgiel, a once-powerful demon lord cursed into the form of a helpless monster cat.
Kanata names him Zakkun and their adventures begin as she makes him first in her menagerie of fluff.
Only about 6 chapters right now, but it currently seems to be updating. Given the title and genre, no idea if it's Light Novel based.

One I just created a page for (and am wondering if it needs more indices): I Love Yuri and I got Bodyswapped with a Fujoshi!
Pretty much what it sounds like. The first three volumes are out, and the fourth (and last) will be out in english in September. Great fun if you ever wanted to learn more about Yaoi or Yuri culture or are a fan of the old "Freaky Friday" Flip.
My troper wallIn other news, Golgo 13 has swep away the record of longest manga series (previously held by Kochi Kame) with the release of its 201ˢᵗ volume. That one will be hard to beat…
How many volumes does Hajime no Ippo have currently?
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Around 130 I believe.
Man, I only have a passing familiarity with Golgo 13, but impressive work.
Does anyone here read Reminiscence Adonis? Cause I want to know if the protagonist stops being a bitch or if the story starts making more sense at some point. I don't know if I want to keep reading or not.
Well, under the radar for this forum I guess.
Dandadan is a lot of weird fun, and definitely what you'd expect from one of (Chainsaw Man) Fujimoto's assistants.
Story: A boy who believes in aliens but not ghosts meets a girl who believes in ghosts but not aliens, and together they have to deal with both.
So I read the last couple chapters of Platinum End out of curiosity, just to see how this trainwreck ended.
By the death of all humanity, that’s how.
…Okay.
Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.Just staying true to the spirit of trainwrecks. A fiasco for damn near everybody.
Ok, since 1st volume has just been released, I'm gonna recommend this one.
Hai Basu ni Sumu (Living in an Abandoned Bus). It's about a female high school teacher who, after having had her apartment ruined by a flood, decides to live in an abandoned bus as she waits for the apartment to be repaired. We follow her daily life as she teaches, cooks her meal, and interacts with the people around her.
It's pretty much an easygoing Iyashikei with a rather eccentric female MC. Later, we're introduced to the second MC, a male student from the teacher's school who had actually knew about and used the Bus before even the teacher. From there, they both started hanging out with one another outside of school. So far, no romance, but considering the author's previous works are romance or romance-themed, I'm not gonna be surprised if there will be romantic developments later on.

Love triangle of MC <-> bus <- other guy, who used to date the bus?
of course not. I'm a fan of teacher-student relationship, so I'm hoping it will go down that road. But even if it doesn't, no biggie. Their interaction as it is now it's already pretty great. One of my favorite is the male student, Ooya, teaching the teacher, Hazuki Amemori, how to play a game on an old game boy.

Has anyone been reading The Flower Dances and the Wind Sings? Not at all what I was expecting going into it, which has been a pleasant(ish) surprise.
Having caught up on it, I feel like the MC should probably get a divorce. Unfortunately, I don't think she will. She's married to one of those kuudere duke characters who fell in love with her at first sight and always has, but that very cold nature makes him awful at expressing it. He also never seemed properly supportive during the many rough times she had with mental health.

Koe Ga Dasenai Shoujo wa "Kanojo ga Yasashisugiru" to Omotte Iru (A Girl Who Can't Speak Thinks "She's Way Too Kind"):
Oto Mashiro is a first-year high schooler who suffers from aphonia, meaning that she's lost the ability to talk and relies on her notebook for communication. Having transferred to a new school, she's expecting to once again spend her time friendless, as her muteness makes it difficult for her to interact with others. And indeed, her classmates eventually start avoiding her.
Enter Kikuno Kokosaki, the resident lone-wolf with a Face of a Thug, who suddenly starts to approach and befriend her. Oto is surprised and touched by Kikuno's kindness and her ability to know exactly what she's trying to communicate... almost as if she can read her mind...
Turns out, she's dead-on right; Kikuno has been a telepath her whole life and constantly heard the thoughts of the people around her... including their pettiness and tendency to keep secrets from each other, all people she's been around carrying ill will to various extents. She's always kept her distance from others as a result. She heard poor Oto's constant stream of Self-Deprecation during her first two weeks of school due to her inability to approach her classmates, and decided to befriend her for some peace and quiet... and because she's genuinely surprised that Oto blames herself for her lack of friends instead of the people pushing her away.
W.A.F.F. ensues.
Not the most original of premises, but it's a sweet and gentle friendship story so far. We'll see if it becomes a love story later.
