Removing complaining, bashing and other negativity from the wiki

Just wanted to say that the Complaining and Darth Wiki links are red due to being in Main namespace (if I'm not mistaken, this occured after the image overhaul of the site). Complaining should have the Administrivia namespace and Darth Wiki be replaced by DarthWiki.This Exists

DarthWiki.Darth Wiki also works. Apparently, Main.This Exists does as well; not sure why it wasn't cut when Main.Darth Wiki was.

That's not something in the film itself, so should be removed.

I've got a question. When exactly is it okay and not okay to add Hype Backlash to a work's YMMV page? To me it just seems like something that's going to naturally happen to anything that gets a lot of acclaim and/or popularity. It seems like a trope that exists entirely for complaining.

This sound more like complaining about ignoring character development than this trope. Cut?

Agreed. Cut. His character development is still there. He's always been a bit trollish even after that. It's part of who he is, being chaotic, after all(it's tied to his own existence too).

I'd like to bring up Alex Jones, which seems to be devoted entirely to bashing this person. There are numerous ROCEJ and NRLEP violations on his pages, such as calling him a Fat Bastard and claiming that he's crossed the Moral Event Horizon. If all we have to say about him is negative, perhaps we'd be better off not having pages about him at all.

The only scenario where I could even begin to imagine wanting or needing that page is if people frequently use him as a villain in fiction. Which AFAIK is not the case.

I know dethroning moments are supposed to be about complaining but a lot of DethroningMoment.Animated Films is full of natter, spoilers, Flame Bait, and entries that take up an entire screen.

DethroningMoment.Live Action Films also has a couple walls of text and moments that are 'the entire thing', 'unfortunate implications throughout the movie', 'a character's characterization', plus frequent Flame Bait links.

Anything that is basically "the entire thing" violates the guidelines set forth on the top of the page, and should be purged.

About Alex Jones, I brought it up in this ATT query as well, where seven other Tropers agree that it should be cut. Plus me and nrjxll, that makes nine of us who think the page shouldn't exist. Is that enough of a consensus to cut?

I think so. That article contains nothing of value to the wiki and can only attract negativity. Which is no more than Jones deserves, but even giving him a wiki article provides a degree of credibility that we should not confer.

That's not proper procedure. According to the related page, it has 83 wicks, all of which must be removed before the cut can go through. I'll go ahead and chop the subpages, though.

Was doing the wick clean-up, when I noticed that our Politicians page has a lot of pages that shouldn't exist, as they are troping real life. For a representative example see Bryan Fischer. To be clear, Fischer is a piece of shit and deserves everything said about him, but it's outside the scope of this wiki.

• Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy: Starlight and Trixie spend most of the episode being jerks to each other, their reconciliation is abrupt and may come across as forced and awkward, and they don't even make it to Saddle Arabia. All they learn from the whole deal is the road trip was a horrible idea and that they should never do it again, meaning all the episode does is detail a bad experience with no payoff.
• It's the Same, So It Sucks: It's yet another Plot-Mandated Friendship Failure episode in a season already full of them.

The troper who added it said "Feel free to edit these later if I'm being too negative. I didn't end up liking this episode, so I'm biased." DIAA (which is about stopping caring about the setting due to excess cynicism) seems too strong for a single episode, and It's the Same, So It Sucks seems to be more about a reputed plot thread than similarities with other episodes. Thoughts?

DIAA is too strong for a single episode, though It's the Same, Now It Sucks! looks valid.

Noticed an entry on DethroningMoment.Web Original about someone's Deviantart journal, which had more comments about the same person and a completely unrelated person's art someone commissioned. A lot of other entries on there seem overly personal, too.

"Are Deviant Art text based examples allowed? If so, I'd like to nominate this abomination of a complaint. Basically, it's him complaining about the Mega Man comics from Archie, and doing a terrible job at it. Now, I can accept opinions different from mine... as long as they are at least factually correct. He complains about it being similar to Archie's Sonic. There are similarities in there, true, but the differences outweigh the similarities, but one can see the similarities, so it's not the worst. However, he seems to think that the OCs in the comic steal focus away from the game characters. Now, it's true that there are stories that have focus on the OCs, but the game characters get a lot of focus as well. In fact, the stories with the game characters as the main focus outweigh the stories that focus on the OCs. Plus, he claims blatant disregard for the source material. If he bothered to read the comic like he claimed to have, he'd find that the comic is, for the most part, actually pretty faithful to the games. Sure, not 100% so, but still. Not to mention that he seems to think anyone who likes the comics are idiots. I never heard of this fellow before this, but let's just say that he lost a potential watcher.

It does seem kinda personal, but OTOH that whole section is a cesspool of the sort that's probably better off simply being ignored. Removing bashing from Dethroning Moments of all things just seems like a pointless uphill struggle.
