Removing complaining, bashing and other negativity from the wiki

This entry in VillainDecay.Western Animation seems to suffer from complaining issues and may need a rewrite:

• Disney originally had Captain Hook be somewhat dangerous in Peter Pan, with him being decently competent against Peter. However, by Jake and the Never Land Pirates, he is now absolutely stupid and has a small ball on the end of his hook. Maybe small children are scared by pointy hooks, but it just seems silly. Or maybe he was just so clumsy with the hook that his crew did this so he would stop tearing his face off while grooming his beard. To be fair, the show is aimed at pre-schoolers, so Captain Hook becoming less intimidating is kind of expected.

I presume that second show is meant to be a out-of-continuity spin off or something like that, meaning discussion of this goes into Adaptational Wimp. As such, the entry is unnecesary, as the character's funtion and tone is different in both works.

Fears of Captain Hook being a wuss is possibly a concern in an Audience-Coloring Adaptation, but I sincerely doubt a pre-school show will have any influence of the sort.

I just went through some subpages of So Bad, It's Horrible and discovered that (obviously) many of the trope pages for works listed there are complaining magnets. Just something for this thread to keep in mind for the future, I already added several works listed there to Works That Require Cleanup of Complaining for that reason.

Yeah, the Advertising subpage uses some questionable words (such as saying McDonalds' apology for the Rick and Morty fiasco was "half-hearted" and claiming that a teenager in another ad was "whiny). I've actually considered mentioning this before.

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.

I was talking more about the separate trope pages for the works themselves that were listed there. I added a few to the sandbox because they were complaining magnets.

But I do agree that some of the Horrible entries are a bit more complain-y than they should be. Though that might be a concern to raise in the Horrible cleanup thread.

The best character is always the one-shot disguise.

That sounds like something you would hear on The Angry Video Game Nerd, not TV Tropes.

Evidently more discussion is needed about what language can be used on Horrible entries.

Here's a copypaste of my post on the other thread. Bold on the bashy bits:

• Dragonball Evolution is a terrible PSP adaptation of the already-pretty-terrible film, being essentially a poor man's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai with cheap-looking graphics, lackluster sound and voice acting, a short and overall boring story mode (in case you didn't get enough of the film's cringeworthy plot), and such limited depth and variety that one can win simply by mashing the Square and Triangle buttons. Fans are far better off sticking with Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai.
• Vampire Rain is a piss-poor stealth-action survival horror game that features (among other things) a thinly-written plot with wooden voice acting, dreadful dialogue, lousy gameplay that shamelessly rips off both Splinter Cell and Metal Gear (and doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as either), laughable enemy AI, and wildly inconsistent difficulty. You know a game is terrible when the most innovative thing about it is that your knife (a melee weapon) actually requires ammo to use! (The game attempts to justify it by making the knife explode inside the victim, but this doesn't make things less frustrating).
• The Letter (not to be confused with the visual novel of the same name) is a low-budget exploration game in the vein of Dear Esther, Gone Home, or Proteus, but has barely a fraction of the flair required to match any of them, and isn't worth the $2 it costs to download the thing from the Wii U eShop. Your player character gets a letter supposedly left by his parents, then fumbles around drab, empty environments trying to figure out what happened to them. It tries to pass itself off as a horror game, but there are no scares to be found whatsoever unless you count playing this crap. Worst of all, the game can be finished in less than 15 minutes, and ends with a trite All Just a Dream twist.

~Tomodachi actually Jake And The Neverland Pirates is canon to the Disney Peter Pan franchise. As it ties into the events of the films in several instances.

Captain Hook is a Memetic Badass? I thought he was just a cartoonish baffoon. Then again, I have no knowledge of Peter Pan, as it never appealed to me.

Give a check to the main cartoon article to see if some bashing got into the article.

Tbf Hook's competency varies alot depending on what your watching.

Yeah even in the show itself how competent Hook is, is Depending on the Writer, sometimes he can pull off an impressive trick and nearly win other times he is treated as a complete joke and does almost nothing.

YMMV.My Little Pony The Movie 2017 has this entry that... seems the slightest bit questionable:

• Harsher in Hindsight: Sia starring in a franchise with a significant Periphery Demographic of neurodivergent viewers, playing a beloved pop star singing a song about friendship and togetherness. Extremely sad to watch in light of her controversial film Music, which was slammed for its condescending and problematic portrayal of autism - and the singer's disparaging responses to the backlash.

Now, I do find the way the film portrays autism problematic, especially since I'm on the spectrum myself. However, as far as I know, the film doesn't speak about said condition. What do you think of it?
