So. Personal opinions on the main wiki aren't allowed, be they gushing or bashing. Now, bashing gets tolerated even less than gushing, and that makes sense; it leads to more flamewars.
But that doesn't mean we have to live with all the gushing either. This thread can serve as a center for keeping it in check. One function might be to alert people to pages that are really heavy in gushing, to the point that it's not just a quick fix and will need some assistance.
Yeah, you are misunderstanding the point of the thread. Getting rid of gushing where it doesnt belong.

She/Her | Currently cleaning N/AWe literally are not allowed to do that. That's the section for gushing and its modifying someone else's opinion. We are not allowed to remove it unless its CREEPY gushing as in porny or gushing for underage characters or making apology of awful people.
EDIT: Oops 'd. Glad you understand.

- Franchise.Devilman: The Genre Turning Point for Japanese media.
I agree with most of that, though I think Smash Bros' page could say it's the most well-known Mascot Fighter.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Perhaps it's just my lack of exposure, but that reads like an Overly Narrow Superlative.

Here's the article. The article notes that My Next Life as a Villainess didn't come first but it codified a lot of the stuff we know today, except for Katarina being clueless to the whole negating doom flags thing.
Hi!Here's one from Transformers: The Transforming Mecha.
Hi!Technically, Transformers is the first Transforming Mecha according to Wikipedia when it was still known as Diaclone.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupAll right, Transformers can stay, but what about My Next Life as a Villainess? While it wasn't the first "Reborn as Villainess" Story but it did codify a lot of things about the genre, though Katarina is oblivious to the fact that she negated her doom flags and how many people are in love with her.

Hi!To be honest, I'd rather get rid of "The Trope" from descriptions unconditionally. If a work is a Trope Codifier, it should say so in an example and have a proper paragraph about how it's success inspired similar works.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI would go with "The populariser and Trope Codifier", it was the first to achieve any kind of mainstream success, insofar as a web novel aimed at otaku can be termed "mainstream".

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.YMMV.Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory
- Ass Pull: Slugworth was added to the film during shooting so there could be a token villain. Furthermore, Mel Stuart and screenwriter David Seltzer had no idea what Slugworth's motivations were for the majority of production. The twist that he was actually working for Wonka all along was made up during the shoot. This manages to add a layer of mystery early in the film that the character would have otherwise lacked.
The last sentence seems like a Justifying Edit to me.
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!Well that's not Ass Pull anyway, that's Writing by the Seat of Your Pants
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe page for Suikoden III has this line at the end:
Also, the manga adaptation is awesome incarnate, as this wiki itself will tell you.
I think this should just be replaced with an acknowledgment that there is a manga adaptation without any judgment on its quality.
Agreed.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Yes, no way this is allowed.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupReplying to the comment #1289, I'm also in support of getting rid of "The [Trope Thing]" unconditionally. Most of the examples I cleaned up are repeating things from description at best and simple gushing at worst, sometimes not even being Trope Codifier. There should be more effort put in description than "The [Thing]".
I ironically I agree, but there should be LESS effort as in, its such a lousy description, it should just be removed and never used, hence making less effort by removing and not allow "THE piece of media" anymore.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I am also strongly in favour of removing "The [GENRE]", "The [THING]", or similar out of work descriptions.

Kirby is awesome.I say it's fine in at least a paragraph explaining its impact, but I don't mind the "THE [x]" at the top as long as the explanation comes later. It kind of clues in the reader, "Oh right, it's that thing."
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
Aren't the rules a bit different for Sugar Wiki? I'm not sure how exactly they interact with the purpose of this thread, but I think gushing is to be a bit more expected there.
