I'm more or less annoyed that they seem to be retconning Akuma into being actually evil, as apposed to being more of a Blood Knight Anti-Hero, but I'll get over it.

No, Word of God quite recently said Oni = Akuma, only Oni is a real demon, not a figurative one. We still don't know how, but it's confirmed (most think it's him losing himself to the Satsui no Hadou).
Easily there, Zeal. It's just a bunch of shotos. Nothing to blow your lid over.

Like I said I that Oni is Akuma losing control of the Satsui no Hadou and becoming a true demon. It seems rational to me. I'll wait for the real story to say more. 8D

It's a stupid development though. They are guys are nothing more than What If? versions of the same two shotos. What are they going to do? Retcon III? Canonically, Ryu had completely forsaken the Satsui no Hadou by III, having been able to bring his fighting style up to par with Evil Ryu's by that time. Also, there was no indication of Oni's existence in those games. Why go this route when it will never happen again?

Yeah, but IV takes place before III, and such an ascension was never even hinted at. It doesn't make sense for them to introduce something that doesn't happen.

I am so freaking SICK of AKUMA. A full quarter of the people i've fought online have been Akuma. And i kicked every single one of their asses. As Cammy! Cammy's awesome.
I keep laughing my ass off when i think back to Moviebob's rant
about her being a raging lesbian. It's funny because the more you know about her, the more sense it makes. What with her having a whole host of "Sisters" she cares deeply about and how there's this horrifying relationship she has with the extremely masculine M.Bison tormenting her wherever she goes.

Masculine? Er... the fact that he has an Opposite-Sex Clone that he was planning to use as a backup host, has an Enemy Without who's a woman, and designated a girl whose eye he ripped out years ago as a possible backup body makes me think otherwise.

I jump between understanding and even liking the "I want to be a girl next!" thing of Bison's, and being incredibly freaked out.

Well, Blanka has that one duck move which makes dealing projectiles easier, and as far as I can tell, some of his normals have some really good range.
It's more frustrating waiting for the asskicking than the asskicking itself.

Nope. I suck with charge characters. All I know is that charge players use combos while charging their attacks.
And let's not forgot Guile's infamous "ticking" strategy.

Well i'm just saying he's got the physique of a steroid-abusing bodybuilder. Also said Opposite-Sex Clone is Cammy herself, which is probably incredibly squicky for her.
Guy's probably the Oblivious to Love type. He's most likely devoted to Rena, and assumes Rose would respect that... I wanted to write a fanfic about it for awhile now, actually...

Yeah, but aside from Maki's inclusion in Alpha 3 MAX, there's been virtually no mention of the events of Final Fight 2 and 3. Maki herself has been Out of Focus since then too.
And his dynamic with Rose in SSFIV was extremely overprotective. He went Not So Stoic. That doesn't happen with Guy. Ever. They're nakama, yeah, but that fiasco was pretty much a Relationship Writing Fumble. I don't mind it, but that's how it went.

Maki's wasted potential. I'd love to see Guy trying to handle both her and Ibuki. Mai too, as some sort of exchange program with the Shiranui clan. And then Kasumi shows up and causes a schism between the different hidden ninja villages...

Yeah, that's what I thought. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm psyched for Oni. I would have settled for Shin Akuma, but instead we get a new version that is supposedly stronger or something. That's pretty sweet. Evil Ryu I'm less excited about, but only due to the ugly as hell thing on his chest. Though I hoped if they did those two that they'd include Sunburned Sakura as well.
