Meet the Tropers: newbie thread/introductions.

Hello! I found TV Tropes several years ago, but only recently did I make an account. I've worked on Fandom (aka Wikia) wikis before and, while I still work on some of them from time to time, my enthusiasm to edit them kinda dropped. I decided to make an account here because the format and function of TV Tropes are refreshingly different from Fandom wikis.

Unsurprisingly to most, I'm an anime and manga fan. I also enjoy mysteries, historical fiction, and historical mysteries.

Longtime lurker, first-time poster.

I'm not strictly a newbie per-se, but although I have been on this site since 2017 (2 years!) this is my first post on the forums. So... welcome to the forums, me.

While my username is pretty specific, I don't intend to really stay in character-

I've been on other forums and I know people come and go often, I can't expect myself to stay long enough to really be relevant.

Anyways.

I've always been sensitive to recurring themes. I hate stereotypes. I think its because I recognize too easily when certain behaviours are repeated often, and I don't like to fall into that same behaviour.

I try to be original, but I don't think defining my identity off of that is smart. I don't think its wise to arbitrarily call myself a minority.

I think I do this to a fault, I enjoy novelty, but get bored easily. So one way I offset this is by constantly trying to improve, so that I can understand things at a higher level, or by finding new hobbies or ideas to expand my worldview/understanding.

I enjoy typography,typology (personality typing, but not in the sense you'd think), programming, graphic design, I improvise and compose music (I can't read 'sheet music' though), I speak Spanish and I'm currently learning Portuguese. those are some of my interests.

I found this website some time ago, but I wasn't interested. Now, I recognize there is more value here than I initially thought. I'm mostly looking to learn from the community, I think there is a lot of valuable information here, and I am excited to learn and participate, (for however long that might be).

Hi everyone! Long time Troper, first time account. I am an author whose first book just came out on Friday. Would be great to see a trope page for it one day! That is the dream haha.

Hello. I'm Shikijika585, but you can just call me Mayu ^note the weeb nickname I'm currently using due to it being the name of the girl in my profile picture or Emily ^note my actual name. I'm a teenager of a vague age (is... is that how you say you're legally a minor without actually mentioning your age because mentioning my age makes me uncomfortable as heck???? help) that likes anime, video games and other stuff like that. So basically, I'm a weeb. I'm mostly a fan of Pokémon^note in general, not just the anime or video games or some other part of it, Vocaloid and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure^note though I mostly just absorb the plot of it through memes. I REALLY don't have much else to say other than Deerling^note the Pokemon my username refers to isn't even my favourite Pokemon^note my favourite is actually Weavile.
