BEWARE. Potential spoilers below.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Is Barney The Barnum scamming people, even to his last breath? Or does he truly believe his egg was a dinosaur egg?
  • Angst? What Angst?: Other than some fear over the task force, Paul seems to take getting turned into a werewolf in stride. Even though he can no longer be vegan, has to have silver on him or risk turning at the full moon, and could possibly outlive his sister. Somewhat justified since he's implied to be a Nightmare Fetishist.
  • Friendly Fandoms:
  • He's Just Hiding: Since Truman ran in using the Irons family's Offscreen Death as a Wounded Gazelle Gambit in Episode 8, and since their bodies were never shown onscreen like the other deaths on the show, many fans believed the Irons family might actually be alive. Unfortunately, Chapter 9 of the podcast confirmed the Irons family had actually died.
  • I Knew It!:
    • Fans who guessed that the werewolves were in the anti-mining camp and being framed for the murders, or that Paul had been turned into one.
    • Fans who guessed Sybilus, Olivia, Rita, Vern, or Helen were werewolves.
    • Fans who guessed Truman was either behind the murders, a supernatural creature herself, or descended from the McMahon family.
    • Anyone who suspected Desmond was a werewolf, particularly of being "Connor" from Episode 5.
  • Jerkass Woobie: The Irons family. While they're abrasive and antagonistic to Artemis and Paul, the podcast reveals they had some hard financial struggles that lead to them throwing in their loyalty with Miner Mole (though this is Played for Laughs). That plus their violent offscreen deaths qualify as this.
  • No Yay:
    • Artemis and Silas.
    • Paul and Truman in Episode 9.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name:
    • Artemis/Madison = Arson, or Mademis
    • Paul/Sybilus = SyPaul, or Paulas
    • Desmond/Quinn = DesQuinn
  • Stoic Woobie:
    • Artemis. While she's put-together and professional, hers and Paul's Dark and Troubled Past losing their parents and spending their teens in the foster system, plus becoming The Scapegoat later in the series, qualifies as this.
    • Desmond. With the reveal that he's the last of the direct Connor line, his guilt over not anticipating Truman's true purpose, and his Determined Defeatist attitude in the face of the town turning against the wolves, it's hard not to feel bad for him.
  • The Woobie:
    • Paul. Aside from his shared backstory with Artemis, he is constantly overlooked, even when his ideas are actually good, is instantly distrusted by most of the town, gets constant traffic tickets, gets attacked, and has to deal with the growing pains of becoming a werewolf while anti-werewolf sentiments are brewing in town. Poor guy deserves a break.
    • Madison. Loses her brother in the first episode, watches her beloved town become more and more divided, gets badly beaten in the elections when she tries to fight in her brother's name, gets overwhelmed trying to head up the task force, discovers some of her friends have been lying to her her entire life, and suffers from a lack of confidence when given the chance to take the shot that will kill the person behind it all.
    • Odie Doty. He just wanted to deliver mail!
    • Donny Meadows. He just wants love.
    • Ryan Reynolds. Poor guy just wanted to protect his town, but had no idea what he was stepping into. Plus, barely anyone believed him.
