YMMV / Look Who's Back

  • Anvilicious: The film ends with a montage showing real pictures of European nationalist and far right political movements while Hitler comments that he "can work with this". It drives the point home with all the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • Racial impersonations have become a risque form of comedy in the 2010s, but it's hard not to laugh at the sight of a German comedian coming off stage dressed like an Arab terrorist and taking off his costume, only to put on blackface for an Obama impression.
    • Hitler shooting a small dog that bit him is a horrible act and nearly destroys his political career, but the sheer excessiveness, combined with the sight of him desperately trying to shake the dog off his leg while the unaware Sawatzki keeps talking about what a great animal lover Hitler is in front of the camera, makes it a hilarious moment of Black Comedy.
    • The very fact that in the ending people of color seem to unwittingly greet Hitler cheerfully while Neo-Nazis are disappointed in Hitler and think he's only a fake.
  • Genius Bonus: Hitler's remark to Sawatzki that the human body can handle a small amount of Jewishness has some basis in his historical beliefs; the real Nuremberg laws considered Germans who were only 1/8 Jewish (i.e. having only one Jewish grandparent) to be normal Germans.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: 4 years after playing Hitler, Oliver Masucci would play Arthur Kemper, a Jewish man who fled Germany to escape prosecution from Hitler.
  • Memetic Mutation: Hitler's reaction at seeing Wikipedia for the first time is commonly used as a reaction image to depressing news from Germany.
Franziska: "Are you crying, my Führer?"
    Hitler: "No..."
  • Misaimed Fandom: It's not uncommon for Neo-Nazis to like the book and its film adaptation, often agreeing with Hitler's points about modern Germany and his solutions.
