Trivia / Look Who's Back

  • Ability over Appearance: Hitler was 175 cm tall, Oliver Masucci is 187 cm. You can still clearly see why he got the role.
  • Acting for Two: Justified in the case of the in-universe movie, where the main characters play "themselves". But inverted for Sawatzki, who is played by another actor in a latex mask. Which is also justified by the plot, as the "real" Sawatkzi will be in a lunatic asylum at the end of the film.
  • The Danza: Many main actors share their first name with the character they play: Fabian Busch (Sawatzki), Christoph Maria Herbst (Sensenbrink), Katja Riemann (Bellini), Michael Kessler (Witzigmann). This is easy, as in the book only the family names are given. Of course, all the TV prominence playing As Himself doesn't even count here.
  • Late Export for You: Possibly due to fear of wildly polarized reactions to the film's take on the Adolf Hitlarious trope and despite its massive box office success in Germany (and Constantin Films usually exporting its tentpoles such as Downfall, which had "historical movie cred" and True Art Is Angsty going for it), the film was theatrically released only in a handful of countries outside Germany, to say nothing of home video. Most of the international viewership caught up when it quietly ended up on Netflix over a year (sometimes two years) later.
