WMG pages never use spoiler tagging — so beware of unmarked spoilers

X-Men 97 will tie in into the MCU.
They will crossover with the MCU.

Alternatively, characters within the MCU will appear or be referenced.
Any Marvel Comics characters that did not get signed over to FOX with the film rights would not have appeared in the show's original run but are now fair game. Characters like Captain America, Iron Man, and any agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. could be shown to have their own counterparts in Earth-92131 through direct appearances, mentions, or depictions.
  • Some of the characters had already appeared in the show (and by extension Spider-Man: The Animated Series), usually as cameos, but Captain America was featured in one Wolverine episode. Though they may wear new suits resembling their MCU counterparts (and Tony will get goatee too).

Alyson Court will play Kitty Pryde in X-Men 97
It's been confirmed that Alyson will be returning for the revival but Jubilee will be recast. It would be quite fitting for her to play Kitty Pryde given how Kitty and Jubilee were both Audience Surrogates when they were created.

X-Men 97's continuity.
The show will follow the original series' canon, but it'll also include other elements and characters from the comics that were introduced since the 1992 cartoon's cancelation. Notably, X-23.

Deadpool will hijack an episode.

If X-Men 97 is a success, it will lead to more Marvel cartoons getting their own revivals
Namely the ones that ended on a cliffhanger, like Spider-Man: The Animated Series, Silver Surfer: The Animated Series, Wolverine and the X-Men, and The Spectacular Spider-Man.

X-Men 97 will have an episode or story arc where Carol Danvers comes out of her coma.
In the season 2 episode A Rogue's Tale, it was established that Ms. Marvel was a one time enemy of Mystique's Brotherhood until Mystique had Rogue maintain prolonged physical contact with her both leaving Carol Danvers comatose and giving Rogue permanent control of the Heroine's powers, at the expense of absorbing her personality as well. At the end of the episode it was implied that Rogue unknowingly transferred Carol's personality back into her body and that she would eventually come out of her coma.

That coupled with the character's newfound popularity means that they will likely expand upon that story in the new series.

They do a Poorly Disguised Pilot for a Generation X spinoff

They also do one for a potential New Mutants one
Both the above start out when Colossus and Cannonball finally meet each other - but for some reason their sisters Iliyana and Paige immediately hate each other.
