Trivia / The Mandalorian S2E1 "Chapter 9: The Marshal"

Go To

  • Blooper: During the campfire scene when Mando and Cobb meet with the Tuskens, there's a few shots where Mando's pauldrons are on the wrong shoulders, putting his Mudhorn signet on the back of his left shoulder.
  • Cast the Expert: One of the Tuskens is played by an actual deaf actor, Troy Kotsur, who helped create the Tusken Sign Language and had showed up in Season 1's "The Gunslinger".
  • Development Gag: The bartender played by W. Earl Brown uses a Weequay headsculpt originally molded for Greef Karga, until Jon Favreau decided to make Greef a human instead.
  • Role Reprise: A bit of an odd case, as understanding the meaning behind the final shot requires you to recognize Temuera Morrison looking very different than he did as Jango Fett and the Clone Troopers, playing Jango's clone Boba onscreen for the first time after redubbing his lines in the second George Lucas Altered Version of The Empire Strikes Back and voicing him in games such as Star Wars: Battlefront.
  • Those Two Actors: Timothy Olyphant (Cobb Vanth) and W. Earl Brown (bartender in Mos Pelgo, later revealed to be named Taanti) had previously worked together on Deadwood. According to Brown, Jon Favreau was a fan of the show which led to him casting them (also probably the reason why the episode has strong Western vibes whenever the town of Mos Pelgo and its security are concerned).
  • Throw It In!: The shot of a Tusken Raider cleaning a Bantha's teeth with a gaffi stick didn't appear in the script.
  • Voices in One Room: In contrast with each Season 1 cast member recording ADR separately, Pedro Pascal and John Leguizamo recorded ADR for the Mandalorian and Gor Koresh together.
