Trivia / Sonic Shuffle

  • Colbert Bump: Game Grumps' playthrough in August 2020 renewed interest in the game.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: This game is one of the only Sonic games to not be re-released, and the only one for the Dreamcast. Its lack of re-releases might have to do with its use of the VMUs in the Dreamcast's controllers, since they're what keep the players' cards hidden from other players.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • For the game's English release, Ryan Drummond, who also voices Sonic, replaced Michael McGaharn as Knuckles.

    • In the Japanese version, similar circumstances surrounded two characters: Emi Motoi temporarily replaced Taeko Kawata as Amy while Atsuki Murata replaced Kazuki Hayashi as Tails in this game.
  • Talking to Himself: Sonic and Knuckles were both voiced by Ryan Drummond in this game.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: Some late 90s/early 2000s references pop up. Eggman's quiz show Mini-Event for example includes a knock against Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda: An especially pervasive hoax is that by setting the Dreamcast's internal calendar to April 1st, you can replace Lumina with Reala, much like how setting it to December 24th actually does replace her with NiGHTS. This hoax likely comes from the Easter Egg in Christmas NiGHTS where Reala will replace NiGHTS on April 1st.
