Trivia / My Little Pony (G3)

• Actor Allusion: Sort of. Tracey Moore played the unicorn Cheerilee, and later Mayor Flitter Flutter, so even if Cheerilee is very different now, you've still got a city run by Tracey Moore.
• Ascended Fanon: "Starwishes" (Star Catcher x Skywishes) is a very popular ship in G3. In 2023, Hasbro released a Pride-themed T-shirt with a design featuring the two, accompanied by rainbow roses.
• Celebrity Voice Actor: Whimsey Weatherbe is voiced by Keegan Connor Tracy, an actress fairly well-known for her work in live-action television and film.
• Early Draft Tie-In: One of the specials featured Fiesta Flair, a pony who was ultimately canceled and replaced with Candy Apple. Despite being canceled, she still appeared as background pony in G3.5 as well.
• Kids' Meal Toy: It got Happy Meal toys in 2005, 2007, 2008, and 2009. 2005 was ponies with brushable hair and accessories. 2007 was small Ponyville Ponies. 2008 was the Core 7 and Minty to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise. 2009 was G3.5; Toola-Roola was mysteriously absent from this line.
• Late Export for You: The G3 specials were released in Taiwan on DVD on May 6, 2016, during Generation 4. On a site note, Japan and South Korea never released any of the G3 specials.
• Licensed Game: A few games for the Game Boy Advance, DS, and PC/Macs came out during this series' run.
• Live on Stage!: It got a stage show from VEE Corporation called The World's Biggest Tea Party.
• Older Than They Think: Pinkie Pie's ability to appear in multiple places at once and break the fourth wall didn't actually start in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The former appeared in the second webisode "Pinkie Pie's Ferris Wheel Adventure", and the latter came about as early as "Star Song and the Magic Dance Shoes" before G3.5. Her "Pinkie Squink" is also a predecessor to G4's "Pinkie Sense" though they both work slightly differently.
• What Could Have Been: Fiesta Flair, a character who appeared in the short Pinkie Pie and the Ladybug Jamboree never made it into toy form. Word of God says that due to her Mexican accent, name and symbol there might have been backlash that caused Hasbro to rethink her development. It's telling that toy-only character Candy Apple is 100% identical to her with the maracas turned into, well, candy apples.
