Trivia / Iggy Pop

Go To

  • Black Sheep Hit: His only Top 40 hit is "Candy", a love song where he duets with Kate Pierson.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • Pop disowned Blah-Blah-Blah shortly after its release, dismissing it as a David Bowie album that he just happened to sing on. It would ultimately be his last collaboration with Bowie, who died 30 years after its release.
    • Iggy doesn't look back on Snow Day too fondly, particularly a scene where he had to stick his hand in a toilet bowl. It was enough for him to quit acting for a few years.
  • Executive Meddling: Virgin Records insisted he work with Sum 41 for one song on Skull Ring — their collaboration, "Little Know It All", became the lead off single. Executives wanted the album to have multiple guest appearances, but let Iggy choose who else to work with — he picked Peaches, Green Day, and The Stooges.

  • What Could Have Been: Originally, Mr. Show writer Dino Stamatopoulos came up with a sitcom parody of “Leave It to Beaver”, where Pop would play the role of the young boy. However, when they met up, Iggy was to put it mildly, not paying attention. Eventually, the idea was reworked into becoming the [adult swim] show Moral Orel; and the script handed to Iggy was reworked into the episode 'Waste'.
