- Actor Leaves, Character Dies: Claire is seemingly killed off in Heroes Reborn because Hayden Panettiere was too busy with Nashville to return.
- California Doubling: Toronto is standing in for Odessa.
- The Cast Showoff: Miko's katana skills are Kiki Sukezane's own, as she has been practicing the tate style of swordfighting for six years, and her father's family is descended from samurais.
- Channel Hop: In Britain Heroes was shown on The BBC. Heroes Reborn aired on... Channel 5. UK viewers tuned out in droves, much like their American counterparts.
- Dawson Casting: A mild case. Molly is estimated to be around 18, Francesca Eastwood is 22.
- Fake American: Tommy is portrayed by the British Robbie Kay.
- Franchise Killer: Any hopes of a season 2 was dashed by the poor ratings and while Kring hoped to carry the story into comics and novels like the parent series, nothing has surfaced so far.
- The Other Darrin: Overlapping with Timeshifted Actor, Molly Walker is now played by Francesca Eastwood as Adair Tishler retired from acting to focus on college.
- Playing Against Type: Zachary Levi is more known for playing good guys like Chuck Bartowski or Fandral than he is for villains. It was his request to play a character that was different from Chuck.
- Promoted Fanboy: Zachary Levi was a longtime fan of the show, thanks to Chuck and Heroes airing together and having similar promotional schedules, as well as being friends with Zachary Quinto and some others in the cast. When the series was announced, he asked Tim Kring if there was any room for him, so Kring wrote Luke Collins for him.
- Reality Subtext: It's suspected that Claire dying in childbirth is also a reference to Hayden being pregnant in real life at the time, along with her commitments to Nashville.
