- Acting for Two:
- Andy Hoover plays out both sides of a conversation between Detective Hal Slocumb and Thelma's husband Darryl in the Thelma & Louise episode.
- In the Halloween campaign, Andy Hoover fills in as several supporting characters, including Laurie's friend Annie Brackett and Tommy Doyle, the kid Laurie babysits. At one point Annie drops by while Laurie is babysitting Tommy, and Andy exchanges greetings with himself.
- Andy Hoover again in the Jurassic Park campaign when he's given the role of both Tim and Lex Murphy, including moments where one must comfort the other or support each other's claims. He does not change his voice for either character and is soon dubbed "TimLex".
- Creator Backlash:
- The most consistent one throughout the show might just be Kara Strait’s deprecation of the Rogue One campaign, specifically the Jedi temple section which she felt ground the plot to a halt and made it a chore to listen to. Averted for Scott Aiello, who was intrigued by the Cliffhanger ending and has expressed excitement about making a follow-up.
- While unrelated to the quality of the episodes themselves, Kara has also mentioned finding it difficult to listen to her own voice.
- Dawson Casting:
- The players are all adults, but they portray child characters in the Stand by Me and E.T the Extra-Terrestrial episodes.
- Less extreme examples are their Back to the Future 2, Labyrinth and The Wizard Of Oz campaigns, where Jocelyn Vammer (and in the case of the first one, Kara Strait) play teenagers.
- Assuming animal characters count, there is also Joz Vammer as Chance the pup in the Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. (Granted, all the main characters are technically younger than their actors.)
- Schedule Slip: The Time Bandits campaign is a particularly infamous case, as a current total of 13 campaigns have occurred, and been completed, before the fourth episode has come out. It has gotten to the point where it was addressed at the top of the fourth episode of Halloween 3, where they reassure the listeners that it isn't over yet.
- Reality Subtext: Among the male-presenting players, Kara (then Pitr) Strait got some notoriety for playing a disproportionate number of female characters. She would come out as a trans woman in 2021.
- What Could Have Been:
- The third campaign to be recorded was actually based on Die Hard, but it was scrapped for not working well in an audio format. However, the players have stated that they will probably redo it using their new experience with the medium. To date, the closest they have gotten to doing this was during the first part of the TMNT 2 campaign.
- The players were forced to rerecord the second Frozen episode, as Kara Strait was too drunk the first time. She doesn't quite remember what happened in it, though the story apparently ended "far more incoherently and far more sexually inappropiately." Bors still died, however.
- In September of 2017, fans of the show got to vote for which campaign they wanted to see done for Halloween, with the choices being adaptations of Dracula, A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Poltergeist and a sequel to their earlier Halloween campaign. The Halloween sequel ended up winning in the end, though it's of course not impossible that they might make campaigns based on the others anyway at some point.
- In a rare case of a series being cancelled due to an In-Universe passing, plans to continue the John Wick campaign were scrapped after the episode where The Hero Dies. Basically, the nature of the podcast led to an unintentional case of Torch the Franchise and Run.
- The players again were forced to rerecord an episode when the original recording for Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day was lost. The original episode included Andy Hoover, did not have Lisa Kopitsky and Carolyn Fay Kramer, and featured Kara Strait in a different role than is heard in the 2nd recording.
- As of October 2022, Paulo Quiros is the only player to have appeared in every episode, either as the DM or as a player.note
