City Hunter (anime):

  • Creator's Favorite: Akira Kamiya has acknowledged that Ryo Saeba is his favourite role to play. He went and collected one of the earliest DVD releases of the anime, and provided a dub role for the French film (not Ryo, but a cameo).
  • The Danza:
    • Ryo's first partner, Hideyuki Makimura, was voiced by Hideyuki Tanaka in the anime.
    • In the 2nd note  and 3rd movies note , Miki was darrin'd by Miki Itō, in all other appearances before and after this, she's voiced by Mami Koyama.
  • No Dub for You:
    • Regarding English dubs, only a couple of the animated films, including City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes had got dubs, while the TV series was released in the U.S. sub-only.
    • Latin America got worse on this. The only things from the franchise released in that region are the 1993 movie starring Jackie Chan and the .357 Magnum and Million Dollar Conspiracy films, and the latter two cases, those films were released sub-only. No other other part of the franchise, including the manga, were released there, and took until 2024, due to the Japanese live-action movie, to Latin American viewers to see anything regarding City Hunter in their language, let alone with a Latin American Spanish dub.
  • The Other Darrin:
    • Mami Koyama voices Miki throughout the entire series, as well as the 1st movie, the 90's TV specials and Shinjuku Private Eyes, however in Movie 2 note  and Movie 3 note , she was darrin'd by Miki Itō.
    • While the European French dub cast has been mostly consistent throughout the years, with the exception of Ryo who has always been voiced by Vincent Ropion, pretty much everyone was darrin'd at least once. Miki and Umibozu were darrin'd the most out of anyone (the same applied for City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes).
    • The Italian dub has mostly been consistent with the cast, though it wasn't completely safe from this, the entire cast was replaced in the third and fourth seasons, but they ended up bringing back the original Italian dub cast for the movies and specials.
