Zoo-mergency!: After a zoo fundraiser goes wrong, Sid must save the day with her family.
"Zoo-mergency!" contains examples of:
- Awesome, but Impractical: Many of Sid's attempts to save the zoo come across as this. For example, she creates an animal skate park, even though few of the animals actually know how to skateboard.
- Bad Vibrations: Happens to Stanley's glass of water when Adelaide accidentally lets all the animals escape.
- Big "WHAT?!": This is Sid and her parents' reactions after they find out that Adelaide let all the animals out of the zoo.
- Can't Take Criticism: Bitsy the elephant splatters Vito with paint for criticizing her portrait of him.
- Continuity Nod: Nico the monkey, Cam the chameleon snake, and Yoon and Kwan the two egret chicks all make a reappearance in this episode.
- A Day in the Limelight: For Sid Chang and her family.
- Earn Your Happy Ending: Sid saves the city zoo by organizing an animal K-pop dance party, to the astonishment of all.
- Elephants Are Scared of Mice: At least Bitsy is.
- Food as Bribe: The normally stingy Hector empties out his wallet when he learns that he's given a serving of Stanley's homemade pizza stuffed bao dumplings with every donation.
- Food Fight: One of Sid's attempts to save the zoo is by having monkeys act as waiters. Unfortunately, the monkeys decide to have a food fight instead because she did not properly train them to serve food.
- Hollywood Tone-Deaf: As shown in the animal open-mic scene, Tilly the cockatiel is a very poor singer. Although Sergio seems to like her singing.
- Irony: Becca tried to keep Sid out of trouble so that fundraiser would go off without a hitch, but she was so focused on Sid she wasn't watching Adelaide, who accidentally opens all the cases and lets all the animals out.
- Laughing Mad: Sid does this before enacting another one of her Zany Schemes to save the zoo.
- Ocular Gushers: Becca Chang cries like this at the beginning of the episode as she announces that the zoo is closing. Adelaide also does this when she hears the terrible news.
- Oh, Crap!: Adelaide's reaction when she accidentally opens all of the zoo's enclosures.
- Sewer Gator: An alligator mom and her babies emerge from a sewer as soon as they begin hearing Sid's K-pop music.
- Skewed Priorities: As Stanley spoon-feeds (or chopsticks feeds to be more literal) Becca a pizza dumpling, she breaks down crying. Stanley worries there was something wrong with his cooking. Becca says its not the dumpling, the zoo is closing. Stanley asks for assurance that the food was fine. Cue Sid, Adelaide, Nico, Cham, and the baby birds giving him a "Seriously, dude?" look.
- The Unsmile: A rare positive example. Becca assigns Sid to greet people when they enter the zoo. Sid ask if she's overqualified to which Becca says she has an inviting personality. Sid flashes a wide teeth bearing grin.
