"Do you know how difficult it is to jump higher than anyone else and to soar with such ease and grace? It takes determination and many years of training! You're just jealous because it looks so cool! How dare you go after this champion's Pure Heart! That's no way to get a guy! In the Name of the Moon, I'll punish you!”
Usagi Tsukino

(CWi Episode: "Heightened Hazard")

A professional jumper that Hotaru admires has come to Juuban to train which inspires her to hand him a heartfelt letter. But fearing that she doesn't have the courage to deliver the letter, Usagi and Chibi-usa come to her aid to take her to the stadium in person and show their support.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: After seeing Usagi and Chibi-usa tear each other apart over hospitality ethics, Hotaru admits that she can sense great love in their household and loves it very much.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: Shun Hayase becomes “Sean Harrison” in Cloverway’s dub.
  • Beat: There's alot of silence going on when Mimete uses a rules bulletin as a tissue only to put it back in place when a staff employee catches her.
  • Call-Back: Like in a past adventure, a Daimon forces Sailor Moon to experience Chained Heat with a Sailor Guardian that she struggles to work with.
  • Chained Heat: U-Ndoukai uses a simple ribbon to bind Moon and Chibi Moon's legs together to keep them from interfering.
  • Commonality Connection: The reason why Hotaru admires Hayase so much is because he was once a sick child who had to be hospitalized all the time, just like her. The fact that he overcame his weakness and has a healthier body gives hope to the gothic girl over her own conditions.
  • Continuity Nod: The episode begins with Mamoru telling the Inner Girls about his conversation with the Outer Trio.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: During the Twister game, Mimete is shown in a compromising pose while motivating herself by repeating that she can "do it". As she speaks her mantra, the camera zooms in and out on her legs along with Tomoe who's spying on her. It's even more blatant in the Cloverway dub due to all the suspicious moaning Mimet does while she's got her leg up, which then turns to frantic gasping that gets faster and faster until she finally collapses.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After the local heroes defeat Mimete, Hotaru gets a second chance to speak with her idol. And this time, she's able to express how much he means to her because of his success. Hayase is moved and wishes for health to be better so she can play sports and do the impossible.
  • Face Framed in Shadow: The other witches have their faces and bodies covered in shadows.
  • Face Your Fears: Hotaru wants to give Hayase her thank you letter, but she's afraid to give it to him out of fear that she doesn't have the courage to do so.
  • Failure Is the Only Option: Even though Mimete and her Daimon succeed in stealing Hayase's Pure Heart, they ultimately lose thanks to Hotaru's unintentional interference. That and the Outer Guardians would have stopped her at some point.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: Artemis can only cry like a baby after hearing the story of the Outer Senshi.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Upon their arrival at the stadium, the teenage Usagi yells at Chibiusa (a little girl with stubby legs) and Hotaru (a sickly girl who gets seizures from overworking her body) for being too slow.
  • Internal Reveal: Mamoru informs the Inner Girls about his knowledge relating to the Outer Guardians.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Mimete comes dangerously close to stealing Hayase's Pure Heart. But she loses since her Daimon stops to check on Hotaru which leads to her getting blasted into the field followed by her defeat via Sailor Guardians.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: U-Ndokai stopping to check on a sick child results her getting blown across the stadium.
  • No, You: After catching her spying on her letter like a creep, Hotaru tells Kaori that there's something wrong with her. The Evil Redhead retorts that there's something wrong with her instead.
  • Not So Above It All: Dr. Tomoe gladly takes his turn playing Twister after Mimet is done.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: As the Guardian of Time and Space, Sailor Pluto is forbidden from ever leaving her post at the Space-Time Door. But because of the great danger that the Death Busters pose for the Earth, she's allowing herself to leave her post so she may assist in the ongoing battle.
  • Pet the Dog: Before running off with the stolen Pure Heart, the Hermit Daimon notices Hotaru who's lying next to a wall and checks to see if she needs medical attention.
  • Poke the Poodle: Now that she isn't on the front lines, Kaori spends her free time invading Hotaru's privacy while teasing her over her admiration for Hayase.
  • Rolling Attack: The Hermit Daimon summons a giant P.E. ball to drive away the stadium employees.
  • Running Gag: U-Ndoukai continues the trend of Daimons showing concern for safety. In this case, she advises Hotaru to go to the infirmary if she's not feeling well along with expressing gratitude for her shell.
  • Sickly Child Grew Up Strong: Shun Hayase was once a sick little boy who spent most of his childhood in the hospital for his treatments. After some time, he developed a healthy body and is now a jumper who brings honor and glory to Japan by breaking world records.
  • Speed Demon: Fitting her target, U-Ndoukai is an athletic type who can run at fiery speeds.
  • Stepford Smiler: The stadium employee that scares Mimete into respecting the rules is always shown with a perfect smile.
  • The Unintelligible: The employees who run the stadium only communicate via whistles and creepy smiles.
  • Villains Out Shopping: The Witches 4 are shown engaging in a friendly game of Twister. Even Professor Tomoe joins in on the fun after Mimete leaves to do her dirty work.
