With their new powers in-hand, the kings have decided to go on the offensive. However, that's when Minongan appears to use his time powers on Gira, Hymeno and Yanma, reducing their minds to those of babies.

Meanwhile, Rita and Kaguragi both run into problems when it comes to securing the line of succession...

Tropes

  • An Aesop: Respecting your loved ones' wishes goes a long way.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Rita and Kaguragi ask opposing, but ultimately similar questions to Suzume and Morphonia respectively, asking them if what they say is what they really want:
Kaguragi (to Morphonia): "You're certain about giving up on the succession?"
Rita (to Suzume): "You're certain about being his successor?"
  • Blatant Lies: While recovering from his injuries, Kaguragi notices Suzume being lovey-dovey towards Racules and optimistically notices the "happy couple"...while violently breaking the ice cube he was healing with.
Kaguragi: How beautiful it is to see the happy couple! (smashes a massive ice cube)
Hymeno: His words and actions aren't in sync.
  • Breather Episode: Downplayed, but the regressed royals provide plenty of lighthearted moments.
  • Broken Record: After mentally regressing to an infant, Yanma keeps on pulling his OhgerCalibur's lever, causing it to repeat its "Tone Boy" announcement.
  • Call-Back:
    • Yanma references the events of #43, specifically Minongan's nature as a Body Backup Drive for Dagded, during the first battle with him.
    • Morfonia's ability to break into locks shown back in #10 allows her to break free from her handcuffs.
    • Kaguragi isn't anymore approving of Suzume's love towards Racules than he was in #15.
    • Kaguragi's ability to "betray himself" comes back, this time as part of the reason for his inability to express his true desires.
  • Character Check: In-Universe. Minongan's ability to regress his foes' minds results in Suzume reverting back to the determined-yet-resigned manipulator the show initially portrayed her as before her love for Racules was proven genuine.
  • Character Focus: Sans the threat of Minongan, the episode is an analysis of both Rita and Kaguragi's characters - specifically why they both hide their true natures from the world in the name of duty...and how it's affecting the people they care about.
  • Emotional Regression: Gira, Yanma, and Hymeno have their minds reverted back to when they were babies thanks to Minongan's power.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: The episode focuses on Kaguragi (who wields fire powers) and Rita (who wields ice powers). When used in concert, they manage to freeze Minongan and defeat him for good.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Jeramie mentions that he's well-versed in dealing with children.
    • Morfonia is revealed to have always wanted to become Head Judge, but Rita declined to honor her wish to protect her. Meanwhile, Suzume always wished to find love but is obliged to her duty of one day inheriting Toufu. In the end, both Rita and Kaguragi honor their wishes.
  • How Do I Shot Web?: While the group has new powers due to the King's Proof, they have some trouble properly using them. Case in point: Kaguragi accidentally sets himself on fire while Rita accidentally freezes themselves solid.
  • Irony: Jeramie points out how the three currently-unlocked powers of the King's Proof run against their respective wielders' other characteristics. Kaguragi's fire power would be dangerous to a country known for its agriculture, Rita's ice could freeze both innocent and guilty alike and Yanma's electricity could destroy the technology N'Kosopa is proud of.
  • Klingon Promotion: In her amnesia, Suzume attempts to assassinate Racules (thinking he's still the king) so that Kaguragi could take control of Shugoddam.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Minongan uses his powers to revert Suzume's memories back to before she aligned with Racules and Morfonia to before she swore loyalty to Rita.
  • Loophole Abuse: Rather than defeat Minongan head-on, Rita uses their powers to instead freeze him while Kaguragi keeps them warm, allowing them to take him out without risking Dadged coming back from his body or Rita freezing themselves like what happened with Karras.
  • Out of Focus: As a result of their regression, Gira, Yanma, and Hymeno don't get much scenes, while Jeramie is helping Racules take care of them.
  • Power Incontinence: While still regressed, Gira's anger causes him to accidentally summon God Kuwagata. Racules has to calm his brother down to make him stop.
  • The Reveal: According to Rita, Morphonia is a child of an escape artist, which explains why she's so good at unlocking doors.
  • Same Plot Sequel: This episode is a downplayed re-tread of the Fountain of Youth B-plot of #43, which also focused on members of the team being de-aged in some way. Here however, it's purely mental and only affecting three of the heroes.
  • Succession Crisis: Discussed. Racules points out that counter-attacking against the Galactinsects means preparing for the possibility none of them come back. Thus, successors should be considered.
  • Sugary Malice: While never changing his parental tone towards Minongan, Dagded outright asks him what he thinks he can accomplish given he's just a hollow back-up cocoon. It only makes Minongan angrier.
