In a special episode, contributing to Cartoon Network Invaded, Charles Darwin Middle School is visited by an alleged alien (or new student) named Rick Platypus.

- Agent Scully: Adam was the only person, who didn't bide into the whole "Rick is an alien" stuff.
- Banana Peel: Adam slips on one, when running for his life.
- Blinded by the Light: Principal Pixiefrog and Mrs. Warthog blind themselves, trying to get photographic evidence of Rick being an alien.
- Brain Food: Non-stop, Rick was talking about his love for sucking brain juice which was actually regular juice, that was good for being healthy for your brain.
- Callback: The Portable Self-Contained Cranium Cooler from "My Science Project" appears again.
- Dickie also jumps in and says "Hello, how's your trousers?" from "Yesterday's Funny Monkey".
- The Cameo: Ed, Edd n Eddy appear on Windsor's magazine.
- Class Clown: Rick pulls several pranks on the other students, especially Alan.
- CPR: Clean, Pretty, Reliable: Adam performs this on Rick, thinking he had drowned, only for Rick to reveal that he was just faking it.
- Cross Through: This episode was part three of the Cartoon Network Invaded crossover. As such, it accommodates all of the Invaded themes, that each of the episodes had.
- Three Eyed Crab Aliens: A three-eyed crab alien appears, As Rick Platypus' true form.
- Brain Sucking: Rick made endless jokes about sucking brain juice.
- Frankie's Boxes: The small red box Frankie sent out in "Cheese A Go-Go" was mailed here. It was revealed that this was a box of laundry detergent. Slips read the label on this, wisely taking advice on the universe from it, after seeing a few planet names listed on the back.
- Cheese: Rick was eating cheese in Adam's locker.
- Weekly World News: The same magazine franchise Bloo was reading in "Cheese A Go-Go" appears again, being read by Windsor. The cover page reveals the aftermath of the Ed, Edd, & Eddy episode, "The Eds Are Coming". Here, the magazine a parody called "Weekly World Snooze".
- Stupid Character Brain Removal: In the ending credits for "Billy and Mandy Moon the Moon", a stupid character from each show was captured and had their brains removed, to disappointing results. The idiot from My Gym Partner's a Monkey was Slips Python.
- Eldritch Abomination: Rick's transformation into a three-eyed crab alien.
- Energy Weapon: The gang fired particle destabilizing lasers from the Cranium Cooler at Rick.
- Faking the Dead: Rick pretended to drown as a prank.
- Overused Running Gag: After a while, Rick's jokes get on Adam's last nerve.
- Plot Allergy: All of The Spiffies, except for Phineas, are allergic to fruit.
- Puzzling Platypus: Believing that aliens caused a blackout the previous night and having never had a platypus in their school before, the animal student body immediately come to the conclusion that Rick is an alien and the entire school goes into panic mode with a bewildered Adam trying and failing to convince them otherwise.
- Real After All: After dozens of times, zig zagging and subverting this, the episode finally ended with Rick Platypus actually being an alien.
- Scare Chord: Slips "doo"ed this, when the first sign of the supposed alien invasion came to light.
- Signs of Disrepair: The billboard says "Welcome Special Alumni and Friends". When the meteor lands, some letters fall off, making it read "Welcome Space Aliens".
- Suicide as Comedy: Rick nearly kills himself while pretending to drown.
- Toilet Humor: Jake pooped in Adam's locker.Windsor: Some of us, really need to go potty.Lupe: [looking at Jake] Some of us, already did.Jake: Well, this is my locker.Adam: Actually, it's my locker.Jake: Jeez, Adam. Your locker really stinks.
- Transformation Horror: Rick's transformation into a three-eyed crab alien.
- Unreliable Expositor: Windsor and Slips learn all their information on aliens from conspiracy theory magazines and bubblegum wrappers.
- Uranus Is Showing: Jake and Ingrid do this joke.Windsor: Give it up now, Rick or we'll send you back to Venus or Mars.Slips: Or Jupiter or Saturn, or whatever planet you come from.Jake: Except for the planet that must not be named.Ingrid: You mean Jupiter?
- You Have to Believe Me!: The reverse in this episode, where everyone has the crazy belief that Rick was an alien and nobody believes Adam, when he thinks he was a normal platypus.
