Dethklok catches a summer cold and goes through some archaic methods to cure it in time for a benefit concert. Unknown to them, the Revengencers, led by Edgar Jomfru and the Metal Masked Assassin, make their move.
- Ambiguous Gender: Discussed. Because of the severity of their injuries, Toki asks a patient if they're a girl or a boy.
- Beneath Notice: The Cold Open has the Teenager slide a duffel bag bomb under a table at a Duncan Hills Coffee despite wearing a mask of Eric Jomfru's face.
- Destination Defenestration: The Metal Masked Assassin throws Offdensen out a window in their fight. Offdensen makes a three-point landing.
- Driven to Suicide: "Dethsupport" is a song where the main character of the song tries to kill themselves by crashing their truck into a van. They live and end up in the hospital, begging to be taken off life support since it costs more money to keep them alive.
- Facial Horror: Several victims of the bombings have extensive damage to their faces.
- Gas Leak Cover Up: The Revengencers' bombings of the Duncan Hills stores are being covered up as "natural gas explosions," with the opening being the fifth time it's happened.
- Make an Example of Them: The Metal Masked Assassin wants to kill Offdensen and crucify him before the world before getting to Dethklok. He figures that without Offdensen, the band will have no one to hide behind.
- Mugged for Disguise: The Metal Masked Assassin kills a Klokateer and puts on his hood to sneak into the hospital while Dethklok is on stage.
- Science Marches On: The band goes through Dark Ages methods of getting over their colds. While sitting in a sauna, they stick leeches all over themselves. Then they get the bright idea to drain the bad blood out with bloodletting knives. The next scene has them go through modern day blood transfusions to save their lives, but they're still sick with the cold.
- Sick Episode: Nathan starts out the episode with a summer cold, then the rest of the band gets it.
- Shout-Out: Skwisgaar's leeches are shaped like Elvis Presley's sideburns, then like Charlie Chaplin's mustache. Nathan describes himself as "that guy with the mask with Natalie Portman." Murderface slathers his whole face in leeches and does an Al Jolson impression.
