Go To

"No surprise, Jonas got us lost. Now we're here, it's ten in the A.M., we've got a girl to save, people to see and... what do you know. SLEEPS-A-LOT and SNORE-FACTORY are still sleeping."
Bree, "Crazy Emo Chick"
Dates Posted: (2007) April 29, May 1, 2, 4, 7-11

Having found the new Ceremony girl, the TAAG heads off to meet Taylor and her sister in Zavalla to try and rescue her.

"OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!": Bree stands outside alone and talks about the events of the past few days, including that the three of them have left the bunker. Daniel and Jonas return, the three of them talk, and then they get in Jonas' car to drive to Texas to meet Taylor and find Julie.

"Crazy Emo Chick": Bree wakes up Jonas and Daniel, who are very reluctant to get out of bed. She also explains that they plan to meet Taylor and her sister later. Eventually everyone gets up, and the three of them go to the park, where the meet-up takes place, though not quite as planned.

"No Trespassing": Daniel, Taylor, and Sarah hang out in the car, discussing what Taylor found out about Julie as well as other stuff. Bree and Jonas get back to the car and they drive to what's supposed to be Julie's house, and try to figure out how to get on the property.

"We Found Julia!!!": Bree and Taylor sit in Taylor's bedroom, talking about what happened last episode and about finding out where Julie's school is. Bree and Jonas go out there to find her and talk to her.

"It's Not Kidnapping": Bree, Jonas, and Daniel have followed Jules back to her house and discuss what to do. Despite Jonas' objections, they decide to kidnap her.

"Naive Girl": Bree talks about what's been happening for the past day after they brought Julia back to their hideout.

"She's Missing": Bree explains that Julie escaped after Bree untied her to try to get her to talk more openly. Daniel and Jonas try to look for her, and Jonas goes back briefly to comfort Bree.

"Aiding And Abetting": Jonas reveals that they got Julie back last night and discusses how he feels about the whole operation of kidnapping Julie to save her from the Ceremony.

"What The F*@k???": Daniel says that they were driving around with Julia earlier today and they had an encounter with the Order.

Tropes:

  • Aesop Amnesia: Remember when Bree got mad at Daniel way back in "What the Hell?!??!" for loosening Jonas' ropes, which let him escape? Well, Bree does the exact same thing to Julia in "She's Missing", with the same outcome.
  • Angry Guard Dog: A big dog, "the size of a frickin tank" in Daniel's words, guards the property the TAAG is trying to infiltrate in "No Trespassing".
  • Apologetic Attacker: Jonas apologizes to Julie as he closes the car door on her at the end of "It's Not Kidnapping".
  • Argument of Contradictions: Bree and Jonas get into a brief one in "OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!" over whether Jonas got "testy" over Bree's Texas facts.
  • Artistic License – History: In "OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!", Jonas claims that after Texas became an independent country, it had to be brought into the United States by force. However, Texas in fact joined the U.S. voluntarily in 1845.
  • Black Comedy: "It's Not Kidnapping":
    • Near the beginning, while Bree is still trying to convince the guys to go along with it, Jonas gives some very tongue-in-cheek sample excuses to give Julia:
Jonas: What are we gonna do? Are we gonna walk in there and be like, "Hi! We're here to take you to Six Flags, little girl. Oh, but first we wanna tie you up."
Jonas: It's Texas, so maybe we could tell her we were taking her to the rodeo, and "Guess what, you're part of it! That's right, we're gonna hog-tie ya."
    • During the kidnapping itself, there's the fact that Daniel takes a moment to insist to Jonas that "it's not kidnapping". While he's tying Julie's hands up.
    • Back outside, Bree, while trying to assuage Jonas' guilt, mentions that "legally, it is a little bit wrong" for them to kidnap Julie.
  • Brandishment Bluff: In "Crazy Emo Chick", Sarah, Taylor's sister, puts a tube of lipstick at Daniel's back and tells him it's a gun.
  • Censored Title: "What The F*@k???"
  • Death Glare: Daniel gives Bree a brief one in "Crazy Emo Chick" after she pokes fun at him for falling for Sarah's trick.
  • Defiant Captive: Julia. She refuses the water Daniel tries to give her and loudly refuses to listen to Bree or do anything any of the TAAG say. She even escapes temporarily before being recaptured by the TAAG.
  • Dramatic Irony: Of the humorous variety in "No Trespassing", where Sarah calls Daniel a prude after his horrified reaction to her suggestion that Bree and Jonas "make out all the time", unaware of Daniel's lingering feelings for Bree.
  • Engaging Conversation: Daniel jokes that he's going marry Taylor after she brags about how easy hacking the utility company was.
  • Erotic Eating: Discussed by Sarah in "No Trespassing" while in the car with Daniel:
Sarah: You know, I'm smart too. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot just using my tongue. (sticks her tongue out and rolls it)
  • Food as Bribe: In "Naive Girl", Daniel tries to give Jules a glass of water, but she knocks it out of his hands instead of taking it.
  • Humiliation Conga: Daniel gets a short, light one in "Crazy Emo Chick", where he gets fooled by Sarah's Brandishment Bluff, gets mocked for it by Bree and Sarah, and then reveals that Sarah pantsed him, exposing his Union Jack underwear.
  • Insane Troll Logic: In "No Trespassing", Jonas gives this "reasoning" for why Daniel should be the one to confront the Angry Guard Dog:
Jonas: I'm not good with dogs. You're a beast, right? You should have, like, some kind of connection?
Daniel: What?! (does a Double Take)
  • Insistent Terminology: In "It's Not Kidnapping", Daniel and Bree both try to assure Jonas that this is a rescue, not a kidnapping.
  • It's All My Fault: In the comments to "What The F*@k???", Taylor expresses guilt over the fact that her videos drew Bree to Zavalla, resulting in the events of the video.
  • Sarcasm Mode: After Jonas drops the "fact" that Texas had to be forced into the Union in "OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!", Bree looks at the camera and gives us this deadpan:
Bree: Hm. Well, that's Jonas. He's our "feel-good" tour guide.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here:
    • Jokingly invoked by Jonas in "OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!" after Bree mentions the "Don't Mess With Texas" slogan:
Jonas: See, that's, um—they don't want us here. I told you, they don't want us here. I'm turning—I'm leaving, we're leaving.
    • Discussed in "Aiding And Abetting". Jonas thinks the entire team should just let Julie go and leave Zavalla. In particular, Jonas wants to look for his parents.
  • Seinfeldian Conversation: At the beginning of "OUT OF THE BUNKER!!!", Bree says that Daniel and Jonas were debating whether beef, turkey, or salmon jerky was the best. After they return, all of three of them talk about jerky for a little bit.
  • Slipped the Ropes: Julia escapes by slipping out of the loosened ropes while Bree's out of the room in "She's Missing".
  • Symbol Swearing: Right in the title of "What The F*@k???".
  • Title Card: For about a split-second, one is onscreen in "What The F*@k???", explaining why Daniel put the video on Bree's account.
  • Title Drop: During the kidnapping in "It's Not Kidnapping":
Daniel: (to Jonas) Dude, quit saying kidnapping. It's not kidnapping.
  • Understatement: In "It's Not Kidnapping", Bree gives this line to Jonas while trying to convince him they're doing the right thing (emphasis added):
Bree: I know. It seems wrong, and legally, it is a little bit wrong, but we are helping her in the long run.
  • Unwanted Rescue: Jules is rather emphatic about not wanting to be rescued from doing the Ceremony in "It's Not Kidnapping", not that the TAAG bothers to explain why they're there. Later on, she temporarily escapes.
  • Wearing a Flag on Your Head: Daniel's "English flag" (actually Union Jack) underwear in "Crazy Emo Chick".
Daniel: I haven't been able to do laundry and it's the last pair I had.
  • Wham Episode: "What The F*@k???": Bree willingly gets in a car with Lucy and allows herself to be driven away, with no indication of where she's going or why she did so, leaving the rest of the gang lost and distressed.
  • What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: Near the start of "It's Not Kidnapping", Bree says this to Jonas.
Bree: What's the worst that could happen?
Jonas: I dunno, uh, maybe we get shot? Go to jail?
  • You Have to Believe Me!: In "We Found Julia!!!", Bree tries to talk Julie out of the Ceremony by... running up to her randomly on the street and trying to tell her she shouldn't do it with no preamble.

"Not really sure what to do. I'll let you know when I figure it out."
