Go To

While seperated from the other riders and trapped in a tree, Tom and Jun must come to terms with their feelings for each other to tame the queen of a hive of dragons. Meanwhile, the other riders capture and interrogate Ford and Winston.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Affection-Hating Kid: After Tom and Jun reveal that they are now dating to the others, Eugene trots off pretending to be on the verge of vomiting due to being disgusted by their open showing of romantic affection.
  • Bad Boss: Buzzsaw openly tells Ford and Winston that he can't count on them. When he meets up with them again while they are still tied up, he leaves them like that and tells them they have to find their way back to their camp on foot, but warns them not to return before they manage to find their dragons.
  • Blackmail: Alex records a lot of things Ford and Winston say about Buzzsaw he wouldn't like and forces them to tell them everything or else she would play it in front of him.
  • Butt-Monkey: Ford and Winston not only managed to get captured almost immediately, they were also interrogated by the group and forced to reveal a lot of information. Then, Buzzsaw leaves them tied together and to find their way back to their camp on foot.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: While he and Jun are stuck under the tree, every time they try to confess their feelings to each other, they both get anxious and stumble over their words. It's not until Buzzsaw nearly cuts down the tree that they can share their feelings.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: Tom's attempts to explain himself to Jun after his Freudian Slippery Slope don't go much better only causing her to get angrier to the point even Wu and Wei don't let him get close to her.
  • Freudian Slippery Slope: When Eugene demands Tom just admits he loves Jun, Tom begins denying this by saying they have known each other for so long, it would be weird. Unfortunately, he stumbles over every second word making it a barely coherent mess of words that goes on for so long that it makes the situation very awkward. Even worse, Jun ends up misunderstanding him thinking he thinks she is weird and storms off very angry. After his subsequent attempts to explain himself to her only make things worse, he asks her what she would have said, causing her to behave the exact same way he did.
  • Good Cop/Bad Cop: Eugene tries to pull one on Ford and Winston. Unfortunately for him, the other Riders don't play along.
  • Height Angst: While interrogated by the Riders, Ford and Winston reveal Buzzsaw is 5'7 rather than 5'9 as he claims and that they have to slightly bend over to make him feel taller than he actually is.
  • Holding Hands: Tom and Jun confirm they are dating by holding each other's hands while reuniting with the other Riders.
  • Hypocrite: Jun gets very angry at Tom for his Freudian Slippery Slope after Eugene demands he just admits to loving her, only to have one herself when Tom asks her what she would have said.
  • I Don't Want to Ruin Our Friendship: While confessing their feelings to each other, Tom explains he was afraid of telling Jun he loves her because he was afraid it would ruin their friendship.
  • Interrupted Declaration of Love: At multiple points throughout the episode, Tom and Jun almost manage to confess their love for each other, only for someone or something to interrupt them.
  • Misplaced Retribution: When Buzzsaw attacks the tree Tom and Jun are hiding in, its inhabitants, the Woodchipper, attack Tom and Jun for it.
  • Relationship Upgrade: By the end of this episode, Tom and Jun start dating.
  • Shoulder-Sized Dragon: The Woodchippers are small enough to fit on Tom's and Jun's shoulders
  • That Came Out Wrong: Tom's Freudian Slippery Slope ends up sounding to Jun as if he finds her weird, something she is deeply hurt by.
  • The "I Love You" Stigma: Rather than saying "love", the characters say "Like like".
  • Wham Episode: Jun and Tom become an Official Couple.
