Tropes

  • Back for the Dead: The Land Vikings survived their fall into the ocean from part 1, only to be kept alive in the underwater castle until they are killed on-screen by the parasite.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Oona breaks into the underwater castle to rescue Bean, Lucy Elfo and Zog, just as Bean is about to be infected with a parasite, flooding the castle in the process.
    • Mora breaks through a window to save Bean from drowning.
  • Black Comedy Cannibalism: The Sea Trog chef serves the main characters his cousin Roger.
  • Blatant Lies: Elfo insists the Sea Trog larvae don't hurt, but the several seconds of pained screaming when he puts on in his ear proves otherwise.
  • The Bus Came Back:Some of the vikings from Part 1 return, as prisoners of the sea trogs.
  • Creepy Monotone: Luci, Elfo and Zog while they've got Sea Trog larvae in their heads.
  • Cut a Slice, Take the Rest: Though not with a cake; when the sea trogs bring their guests their meal, cousin Roger, Zog gives Bean the head, and keeps the rest of the dish for himself.
  • Drowning Pit: The underwater castle inadvertently becomes one after Oona breaks a ceiling window.
  • Dying Declaration of Hate: Stryker's last words are telling Bean to tell Turbish he hates him.
  • Eye Scream: Sven the Land Viking's eyes explode and larvae pour out of them.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Before entering the underwater castle, a mermaid version of Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama can be briefly spotted inside a wreck.
  • Help, I'm Stuck!: At the start of the episode, Bean is still trapped in the tiny door. Elfo and Luci have to break the wall around it to free her.
  • Groin Attack: Luci's body, after being decapitated again, does this to Elfo.
  • Insistent Terminology: Luci calls Elfo's balls "grapes". Elfo indignantly retorts they're not that small and demands he call them plums instead.
  • Internal Reveal: Elfo, Bean and Luci learn about Zog's ancestors stealing Dreamland from the Elves, as Zog knew about this all along (though he believed it was just a fairy tale).
  • Killed Off for Real: Stryker, as he gets infected by the sea trog's parasites.
  • Kleptomaniac Hero: Zog and Elfo waste no time trying to steal the treasures in the underwater castle. Bean calls them out for it.
  • Kryptonite Factor: Mercifully, Sea Trogs are vulnerable to sunlight. Even a host just being exposed to sunlight kills them.
  • Losing Your Head: Luci again, and the sea trog chef's cousin Roger who's still alive after being carved up and served.
Bean: "Is it just me, or did dinner blink at me?"
Roger's head: "Psst, I'm still alive, smuggle me out in your large intestine."
  • Nobody Here but Us Statues: Elfo tries to pretend to be a statue to hide from the sea trogs, and suggests Bean does the same. Bean calls him out on how ridiculous he is looking.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Zog, Elfo and Luci all start acting way out of character when infected by the parasites, like Zog willingly giving back the gold he stole. For Bean, it's a sign her friends are already infected.
  • Parasitic Horror: The mating ritual of the Sea Trogs involves putting their larvae into human hosts, where they grow and eventually kill the human.
  • Parental Title Characterization: As a sign of just how spooked she is about impending drowning, Bean calls out for her "daddy" and "mommy" to save her.
  • Remembered I Could Fly: Luci remembers he has wings while falling, but then Bean grabs his tail before he can fly away from them.
  • Tempting Fate: When his effort to free Bean doesn't work, Luci declares she's stuck forever. Cue the ground giving way beneath the trio.
  • This Means War!: Elfo's response to learning the history of Dreamland and how it was taken from the Elves.
