Go To

Chucky ends up at the White House. Jake, Devon, and Lexy use TikTok to locate Chucky and Caroline.

Tropes

  • Actor Allusion: This isn't Devon Sawa's first horror project where his character smokes pot through a bong.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Right before Teddy's death, he sees the president's letter opener in Chucky's pocket. However, Chucky instead grabs his gun and shoots him with it.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Subverted. Focus is put on the letter opener before Chucky steals it, but he never ends up using it.
  • Delayed Reaction: It takes Teddy a second to process that a doll just took his gun, giving Chucky enough time to shoot him.
  • Evil-Detecting Dog: The secret service agent's dog growls and barks at Chucky while the first family is in the elevator to the underground bunker.
  • Evil Is Petty:
    • Chucky sends taunting texts to Jake and Lexy, crafted to their recent TikTok videos... and one to Devon that just says "Fuck you, Devon".
    • Of all the names that Chucky could use while disguised as Henry's new toy, he uses "Joseph", the name of Henry's dead brother.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: After grading the trio's test papers and revealing they did poorly, Miss Fairchild leaves to work on a lesson plan and get a glass of wine.
  • Interrupted Intimacy: Jake and Devon are about to have sex for the first time until they are interrupted by text messages from Chucky.
  • Never Suicide: When Teddy discovers the knife-like letter opener that Chucky has smuggled onto himself, Chucky shoots him with his own service weapon, staging the scene to look like a suicide.
  • Our Presidents Are Different: James Collins is the first independent US President, and is at least trying to be President Personable by enforcing a policy of total transparency.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: The reporter rightfully suspects that Teddy was murdered by someone in the White House and there was a cover-up, but she doesn't know that Chucky is responsible for both.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Time Skip: A year has passed since the last season finale.
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Teddy, from what little we see of him, was a member of the president's secret service, but also a Nice Guy with a family of his own and someone Henry considered a best friend. When asked by the First Son to sweep his bedroom for ghosts, he was happy to oblige, which leads to him becoming Chucky's first kill of the season and his death devastates everyone in the White House, especially since Chucky frames it as a suicide.
