"Dosey Doe" contains examples of:

  • Alliterative Title: Dosey Doe.
  • And Then I Said:
Raj: Anyway, enough about my skin disorders, heheheh...
  • Birds of a Feather: Jane pairs the Squirrels with some of the Beans who could be considered their "counterparts", Almondine is paired up with Samson, Nina is paired up with Raj...
  • Blunt "No": Lazlo sends a messenger dove to ask the Squirrel Scouts to come to the dance. They respond by throwing the dove (tied to a boulder) back at them with a slip of paper that reads "NO!"
  • Comedic Underwear Exposure: Lazlo tears off Scoutmaster Lumpus' clothes when saying they have to change his outfit, leaving the poor moose in his underwear.
  • Don't Sneak Up on Me Like That!: When Lazlo goes into Lumpus' office to seek him out, Lumpus thinks he is Slinkman as his back is turned to the window. He ends up becoming very surprised when Slinkman standing outside the window and he throws Lazlo to the ground in fear.
  • Feedback Rule: The second Lazlo hands the mic to Raj, feedback loudly emits from the mic.
  • Foreshadowing: Clam seems very comfortable dancing with Gretchen (and is apparently okay with her throttling him...) which could possibly be seen as a precursor to "Love Sick", where Clam develops a one-sided crush on Gretchen.
  • High-School Dance: Lazlo tries to set up one of these so as to get Lumpus and Jane together. It ends up being very awkward.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong:
Lumpus: No! No! No! Call it off! There will be no dance!
[Clam and Raj fall through the ceiling]
Clam & Raj: The dance is on!
  • Literal-Minded: Lazlo says that there will be "sparks" and "fireworks" between Jane and Lumpus. The Squirrels hear his words and think he meant literal fireworks.
  • Shipper on Deck: Lazlo attempts to act as Lumpus' wingman after seeing his crush on Jane.
  • Spontaneous Human Combustion: Lumpus is so overwhelmed by Jane telling him that she was looking for him that he explodes.
  • Verbal Backspace:
Patsy: Lazlo said "fireworks"? Hahhh... sounds romantic... Um! I mean... sounds stupid!

"Prodigious Clamus" contains examples of:

  • Antenna Adjusting: Lumpus does this with Slinkman's eyestalks.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Clam's way of of doing things is a little weird, but it all turns out excellent for him.
  • Child Prodigy: The subject of this episode. Seeing one of these on TV inspires Lumpus to search for a little genius of his own so he can make big bucks off of it. The genius in question turns out to be Clam.
  • Dramatic Irony: Lumpus dismisses Clam as an idiot after seeing him ram his head against a tree. Unbeknownst to him, he is the genius he's looking for.
  • Freudian Slip: "Well, hello, my little meal ticket— I mean, genius."
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: Seeing that Scoutmaster Lumpus wants him to leave camp behind to become famous, Clam sabotages his own performance to stay with Lazlo and Raj.
  • Fun-Hating Confiscating Adult: Lumpus steals the TV the Jellies were using just so he can have it for himself.
  • Gasshole: To sabotage his own performance, Clam burps hard enough to send the moon out of orbit.
  • Hidden Depths: The whole subject of this episode is that the extremely eccentric Clam has hidden intelligence.
  • Idiot Ball: Raj apparently does not know how to open a puzzle box.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Lumpus' attempts to profit off of Clam's intellect backfire on him hard.
  • The Power of Friendship: Lazlo and Raj decide to support Clam even if it means he'll leave them, and Clam gives it all up to stay with his friends.
  • Stealing the Credit: Lumpus tries to claim he taught Clam how to make music with a bottle.
  • Vocal Evolution: This episode is around where Tom Kenny's Lumpus voice became higher and more nasal.
