Recap / Ben 10 Ultimate Alien S 3 E 16 The Eggman Cometh

Go To

Ben discovers that Dr. Animo has started a farming enterprise as part of a plan to conquer the world with dinosaurs.

  • Brick Joke: Natalie’s how-to tape on baking cookies briefly meanders into the narrator describing how her nephew’s allergies were triggered by his girlfriend eating a peanut butter sandwich. When Gwen pops in to announce she’s going to Kevin’s house, Natalie cautions her not to eat any peanut butter sandwiches.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Animo is about to give his King Mook a name, when he sees Kevin about to kick the door in and says “Impossible.” Said Mook takes it as the suggested name.
  • Description Cut: As Ben realises that there are eggs in his house, we see the baby pterodactyls tearing the place apart.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: The Sheriff points out that Ben's aliens aren't exactly legal immigrants or approved equipment for crime scene investigation.
  • Dumbass No More: When the Sheriff gets hit by the evolutionary ray, it evolves his intelligence to the point that he can solve a Crossword Puzzle instantly, something he was literally too stupid to do before.
  • Heroic Comedic Sociopath: Ben's new alien Jury Rigg, who dismantles Kevin’s car while he’s driving it, leaving them unable to brake.
  • Lethal Chef: Kevin subtly suggests hat Natalie is one of these.
Kevin: What would [a dragon] want in there? Dysentery from her cooking?
  • Light-Hearted Rematch: Gwen encounters Kevin and Fasttrack engaged in a battle, and assumes the worst. Thankfully, it's simply an example of this trope, which Ben and Kevin invoked to help the former get better at using his new alien forms.
  • Noodle Incident: Apparently Ben has transformed into one of his aliens inside his Aunt Natalie's house at least once before in the past, something that she's not happy to have to deal with again.
  • Offscreen Villain Dark Matter: Dr. Animo has somehow gained access to a disguise legitimate enough to fool the Sheriff (not that that’s saying much), along with a film crew and equipment after his release from jail.
  • Police Are Useless: The Sheriff is literally too stupid to complete a crossword puzzle, let alone identify a super villain in his jurisdiction.
Ben: How does someone that dopey become sheriff?
    Gwen: It’s an elected office.
  • Reverse the Polarity: Gwen and Kevin force Dr. Animo to tell them how to stop his dinosaur minions. Dr. Animo explains they need to change the polarity of the ray so the dinosaurs will evolve into birds. Jury Rigg dismantles and repairs the ray to do just that.
  • Scatterbrained Senior: The elderly woman narrating Natalie’s instructional tape on cake baking shows signs of this.
  • Skewed Priorities: The Sheriff is more focused on selling a steel factory than stopping crime.
  • Superdickery: Gwen arrives at Kevin’s place to find him engaged in a fight with Ben-as-Fasttrack. Turns out to be Training from Hell that Kevin insists on to help Ben adequately use his aliens.
  • Too Dumb to Live: A parole board released Dr. Animo from jail.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Ben considers Jury Rigg's ability to dismantle machines to be this, especially when he ends up dismantling Dr. Animo's ray gun, the only thing that can stop the dinosaur men.
    • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Gwen convinces Ben to turn back into Jury Rigg, pointing out that taking things apart can't be his only power. It turns out that Jury Rigg can also repair and modify machines at the same speed he dismantles them at.
  • You Can't Thwart Stage One: Ben's team try to stop Dr. Animo from sabotaging a global warming experiment that could impede his cold-blooded dinosaur men, but fail to do so.
