Gwen deals with some dangerous traffic while learning how to drive.
Ben is contacted to participate in a video game based on his adventures. Following that, however, he gets attacked by a robot called Stalker. As it turns out, this is all a plan by anchorman Will Harangue to defeat Ben, believing him to be a menace.
  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: The Stalker at first mistakes a minivan for Ben's car, necessitating that Harangue control it himself. But after Ben breaks the control link by accident, it goes on a rampage and attacks everything.
  • The Bus Came Back: Four Arms, one of Ben's aliens from the first series, returns to deliver a Curb-Stomp Battle to Ssserpent at the beginning of the episode, much to Ben's delight.
Four Arms: Whoa! Didn't that one was still in there!
  • Chase Scene: Two, featuring Gwen driving the car. The first one happens because Ben is also in the car and the Stalker goes after him. In the second one, the Stalker believes Ben is again in the car when he really isn't. Once it realizes this, it stops chasing the car.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Two are set up early in the episode, both of which come back for the Washington battle at the end.
    • During the mo-cap test for the game, Nanomech proves too small for his moves to get scanned. This leaves the Stalker robot with no way of knowing what Nanomech can do, which the team exploits to great effect.
    • Throughout the episode, Kevin uses a straw to spit at things. During the battle, he uses the straw to shoot Ben at the Stalker robot, allowing Nanomech to get inside.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: Defied; after Kevin makes a quip on how you treat a car like you "treat a woman", Gwen calmly asks him to continue while Ben gleefully smirks. Kevin realizes that he messed up and keeps his mouth shut.
Kevin: I sense I've made a mistake of some kind...
  • Driving Test: Gwen spends most of the episode training for one, and despite getting chased by Stalker during the test itself, she manages to pass.
  • Driving Stick: Ben's car is revealed to be one of these during the night chase with Stalker. As Gwen mutters to herself which gear she shifts into as she and Ben flee from it. Earlier in the scene, she asks Ben whether or not to downshift, only to be ignored as Ben can't stop thinking about the video game he thinks he's going to be in.
  • Forgot About His Powers: To get inside the Stalker, Ben has Kevin spit him out through a straw to propel him towards it...despite flight being one of Nanomech's prominent abilities.
  • Innocent Innuendo: While scanning his moves into the computer as Humungosaur, one of the tennis balls on his mocap comes loose. Ben's response to this?
Humungosaur: Uh...one of my balls fell off.
  • Involuntary Shapeshifting: During the first chase with Stalker, Ben ends up transforming from Spidermonkey into Swampfire instead of Chromastone. He makes do with the situation, despite Stalker's immunity to those powers.
  • Irrational Hatred: Will absolutely hates Ben for no particular reason.
  • Karma Houdini: Will is allowed to get away with pretty much everything he did involving the Stalker: up to including nearly toppling the Washington Monument on Live TV.note  When asked about this, Word of God merely said "It must be fiction".
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Will says each time he does a story on Ben his ratings go through the roof, especially with his robot attacking Ben. During the final battle when he gets the latest ratings he declares "everyone loves to watch Ben 10".
  • Loophole Abuse: Realising that the Stalker can combat his usual fighting style, Ben decides to attack using a move from a Sumo Slammers video game. The robot is left frozen enough for Ben to do some damage for the first time in the episode.
  • Manipulative Editing: Harangue uses this to make himself out as the victim of a Frame-Up. This despite the footage supposedly going out live.
  • Monumental Damage: The final battle takes place in Washington, with the Washington Monument coming down, though Ben manages to put it in place with Humungousaur.
  • Mythology Gag: Most of Ben’s moves in this episode come from the Cosmic Destruction video game.
  • Never My Fault: Harangue tries to claim Ben pinning the damage on him was a Frame-Up, despite the whole thing being instigated by him, most of the destruction being caused by his robot even before he lost control and the whole thing going out live.
  • Real Name as an Alias: Harangue’s assistant Oliver uses his real name when posing as a video game producer.
  • That Came Out Wrong: Kevin telling Gwen that you treat a car like you "treat a woman". He quickly realizes how wrong that sounds when Gwen dares him to continue his analogy.
  • Tripod Terror: The Stalker robot is a circular tripod that can counter all of Ben's aliens. Or so it seems.
  • TV Head Robot: When the Stalker robot comes to the battle at Washington, it sports Harangue's face on a screen.

Treating a car like a woman

Kevin compares driving a car to having a girlfriend... to Gwen, his girlfriend, who is not impressed. To his credit, he realizes this as soon as it happens.

How well does it match the trope?
