• Abusive Parents: Stan tries to kill Steve and Hayley when he thinks they're sending him out to kill him (they were actually referring to a fly Hayley swatted).
• Amusing Injuries: Stan tumbles down the entire mountain, yet becomes no worse for the wear.

  • Due to his old age, Stan accidentally drives the tank into the crowd audience, with only Ray and Bullock unscathed.
    Ray: That went well.
    Bullock: Is that your revenge, Ray? Saying that line to me?

• Jerkass Has a Point: Stan may be bigoted towards the elderly, but he was right to point out that Ray is not qualified for the tank presentation given he mistook a sponge for a Hot Pocket earlier on, which might indicate that he’s showing early signs of dementia.
• Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Roger seems to care about his ex-wife and tries to bury her in the river as a faithful tribute. However, he eventually reveals to Francine he only wanted to steal her hair to use it as a new wig.
• Karmic Transformation: Stan turns into an elderly man after he rudely insults one at the store.
• Laser-Guided Karma: Roger gets tossed off the cliff by Francine.
  Francine: Roger, I haven't been entirely truthful with you. The only reason I wanted to do the move so I could do this.

  Doctor: Well, Mr. Smith. It seems that you have aged.
  Stan: I have AIDS!
  Doctor: No, no. Not AIDS. You've aged.
  Stan: I'm being paged?

  Stan: I have AIDS?! Again?!
  Doctor: (gives Stan a hearing aid) This will help your hearing and more importantly end this bit.
• Offing the Offspring: Stan tries to kill Steve and Hayley when he mistakenly believes they're out to kill him.
• Rapid Aging: Stan gets hexed into becoming a 75-year-old and continues to age until the hex is broken.
• Scatterbrained Senior: Stan mentions that Ray cooked a sponge after mistaking it for a Hot Pocket and had enough time to figure out it wasn't food.
