Basic Trope: Characters wear clothes that's too young/too old for their age range.
- Straight:
- Alice is a first-grader who dresses in Playboy Bunny suit, makeup, and high heels for Halloween.
- Bob is middle-aged, and dresses as a young boy.
- Exaggerated:
- Alice is very young and wears nothing but heavy makeup and few Dominatrix gears.
- Bob is elderly (or even immortal) and wears nothing but a diaper and baby bonnet.
- Downplayed:
- Alice is a fifth-grader who wears a t-shirt with Cluster F-Bomb words screen on it.
- Alice is a teen who wears revealing outfit at high school.
- Bob is a middle schooler who dresses like a kindergartener
- Bob is a middle-aged man who tries to dress like a teen, but turns to be unintentionally outdated.
- Justified:
- Alice is a Fille Fatale.
- Alice is too young to know why she can't dress like this, she just likes the outfit.
- Bob is a Manchild
- Dressing as a child is Bob's Fetish.
- Inverted: Not applicable - any instance of characters wearing clothes not for their age range would count.
- Subverted:
- Alice is actually an adult who looks like one
- Bob is actually a child.
- Double Subverted:
- Alice is just joking or pretending to be older.
- Bob still dresses like this when he gets older.
- Parodied: Alice wears a floor-length dress with a high neckline and half-sleeves, but her parents condemn her outfit and insist her to wear long-sleeves as well as clothe her head, eyes, and ears.
- Zig-Zagged: Sometimes Alice wears Stripperiffic clothes, sometimes she wears somethings which are more appropriate for her age.
- Averted: Everyone wears clothes that appropriate for their age range.
- Enforced:
- To establish to the audience that Alice is more mature than she looks.
- To set up An Aesop as to why it's okay for adults to dress younger than they are.
- Lampshaded: "Aren't you too young for this outfit?"
- Invoked: The clothing brand introduces Fanservice Costumes and baby onesies with the sizes of all ages.
- Exploited: ???
- Defied:
- Alice refuses to dress in Fanservice Costumes.
- Bob refuses to dress like a child.
- Discussed: "Why these Fanservice Costumes even have children's sizes?"
- Conversed: ???
