    In General
  • The Godly Guardian Pests, titanic-sized insects which were once the protectors of Spring Garden, having since been driven mad by the Pestification Poison and sealed away by the Precursor Heroes... up until they've broken free ten thousand years later.
    • Nidhoggr is a Creepy Centipede with draconic features that's Red and Black and Evil All Over, looking like a Satanic Archetype among Pests — topped off by the fact that their abode is a Lethal Lava Land. Their awakening is heralded by a darkened sky and their intimidating form peering from the distance half-emerged from the once-frozen lake that sealed them, being seen from as far as the capital of Winter Rose.
    • Midgardsormr is a collection of Earthworm-type Pests, which on their own isn't that threatening... until you realize the sheer scale of the population that makes them up, which is emphasized by the cutscene in the "Decisive Battle Against Midgardsormr", featuring a Zerg Rush of the worms rushing through the underground — including the Manyu villages as the inhabitants retreat — and surrounding Lily Wood on all sides as they emerge from the ground, only stopped by the magic emitted from the World Flower keeping them just outside. To make matters worse, slaying one worm

    Main Campaign

Chapter 1

  • The end of Mission 29 story, topped off by its Cliffhanger. Nazuna and the Commander find themselves stowed away in an uninhabitable shack off the coast of the frozen lake, safe from the Pests yet separate from their group of Flower Knights. When there's somebody knocking at the door, Nazuna goes to answer... and gets met with an attacking Pest, the screen suddenly going red as the cutscene ends.

Chapter 4

  • The horrendous fate of Sigillaria and her many prior ancestors, having been Plagued by Nightmares for the past one thousand years. Said nightmares being of Sage Dyne's final dying moments, with the feeling of pain from the inflicted wound carrying over to the recipient of the dream. One view of that dream is definitely not pleasant, but experiencing that for your entire life had evidently taken its toll on the girl and her parents — the latter being Driven to Suicide because of it all.
  • The reveal of Marici, the giant insect revered as a god by the people of Carenthus, has since been infected/demon possessed, shattering Serket's perception of what was once their Hope Bringer. The scene then shifts to a Carenthus child that's seemingly on the backside of Marici... and they've got red eyes, along with seemingly speaking very much unlike a child.
"My power has returned. Now I can finally begin... Come, my beloved children. Only you can do this. Follow me. Make this planet what it should be... Transform this distorted plane into it's true form..."
[scene changes to a sky-view of Spring Garden]
    "Eradicate the Flower Devils"

    Sub-Story Missions

Aqua Shadow

  • One nightmare sequence of Black Baccara's showcases her Language of Flowers "Resentment", recalling her "dark emotions" formed from witnessing a young Cattleya subject to the inhabitants of Winter Rose who want her dead.
Child Cattleya: Why do you all hate me? Why are you trying to kill me? I haven't done anything wrong... Scary... It's scary... Help me... Someone, help me...
Black Baccara: I'll help you... I'll protect...and rescue you... And... everyone who won't accept you, I'll kill them all... killkillkillkill...
