  • The disclaimer. It's horrifying to think of the characters going through any of the things listed (or if they already have gone through them). A few of the things listed that haven't shown up in-game yet include: Self-Harm, substance abuse, Suicide contemplation, and allusions to sex trafficking.

  • The Madness Mantra in the page image titled "Four Girls Two Bodies". The lack of context behind it makes it even creepier. It lies at the bottom of the credits list, there's no clue as to who wrote it, what "bodies" it's referring to, or who "she" is supposed to be. Only time will tell whether we'll get explanation for it, but it remains a mystery for now.

  • This line from Aiko can be unsettling if you've played the first demo and thus know what part of the dating sim genre the game aims to deconstruct.
Aiko: Imagine if you were born with only one choice of who you'd become close with. It isn't much of a choice.

  • The lecture about genetics in Mr. Saito's class. It starts off pretty standard but takes a sinister turn, as Saito begins to talk about very touchy subjects and the morality/ethics surrounding genetics rather than the study itself. During the lecture, a distorted figure flashes and dissapears repeatedly. The figure is one resembling a woman that looks...off to say the least. This implies it isn't Mr. Saito speaking, but someone else speaking through him. Neither the protagonist or the other characters comment on it and the upbeat school music continues to play the whole time. After the lecture is over, Aiko and Yumi get into an argument (that we don't get to hear or know the details of), which is unusual for them. Then Aiko runs out the room and the protagonist suddenly passes out.
Mr. Saito: The first topic we'll be covering is that of genetics.
[A collective grumble and groan formed across the room, except for Aiko, who seemed to perk up at the mention.]
Mr. Saito: The study of genetics can be defined as heredity and the variation of inherited characteristics. This is usually specific to organisms, organic or inorganic. This phenomenon had been observed for the past millenia. Who is cited as the father of genetics?
    [Gregor Mendel]
[Player Name]: Yeah, Mendel studied pea plants and found the differences that occurred between different plants. That was back in 1866, I wonder if people knew about manipulating growth before him, though.
Mr. Saito: Much of our knowledge of genetics had developed thanks to testing the population for diseases. In the interest of understanding how to protect ourselves, we've come to learn more about ourselves. For as long as we've been able to detect and identify genetic traits, we have sought to control the outcome. Mice bred to become better athletes, and even crossbreeding dogs until it has the desired traits. One can quantify certain attributes, but elements such as intellect, empathy, social graces...these things vary. Unfortunately, humanity tends to be self-centered, to the point of causing physical pain or system failures within what we create.
Mr. Saito: Is it cruel to match dogs with good temperaments in the interest of a better companion? Beyond that, there's talk of children being bred and baked into the perfect progenies, at least on a genetic level. Can science perfect something akin to a soul, for the sake of satisfying the humans its meant to be a companion to? And if a child is detected as unhealthy in the womb, is it kinder to end it's life there and then, or allow it to crawl through life? At what point is it no longer about the health of that which is being created, and about the health of society as a whole?
[The class remained silent aside from a few notes being scrawled on.]
Mr. Saito: An apt example of gene modification was in a set of laboratory mice. While they stood to improve the memory of the mice, they failed in other areas. The mice were given heightened memory and the ability to learn, but in turn they were incredibly sensitive to pain. The balance of traits is difficult to strike. Evolution has taken care of humanity thus far, but with the search for heightened technology and a better future, these questions have become quite real. None of these tests have passed onto humans as of yet, but with the advancement of other technology, there is potential for exponential growth.
[Silence continued, though there was little space to speak. Mr. Saito was speaking hypothetically, of course, but usually teachers lingered on the practical rather than philosophical.]

  • After the MC passes out, they wake up next to Kana, who had been watching over them. Kana talks to them for a bit, and if her affection level for you is high enough, she will ask if she can tell you something before you go. If you say yes, Kana reveals her diagnosis and that was bullied because at her old school because of her mental health struggles. It doubles as a Tear Jerker and Realism-Induced Horror, because it's how people with mental disorders are often treated in real life, especially in school settings.
Kana: Can I tell you something? I...something happened to...Not to me, but, to us...someone.
[Her words tripped together into run-on sentences, I could see the gears turning in her head.]
Kana: I'm afraid to tell you, because I feel like you'd take it the wrong way. The first day we met, I wasn't myself, not completely. Y'know how I can be bossy, or bratty, and it takes over. When I know I have to meet new people, I sort of...I become someone else. Someone who can handle that.
Kana: Even since I was a kid, even before I really remember...I thought it was normal.
[She took a deep breath, nerves built up behind her words.]
Kana: Last year, I was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. On a less severe scale, like, my alters —That's the term for them, the personalities...Well, they work together, to keep me safe. I remember most things, but they feel like a dream, or a nightmare. Kinda fuzzy around the edges, when someone else was in the front. Sometimes it feels like I share my body with other people. At least two I can pinpoint, but there's more...
Kana: They want me to be safe. I — it doesn't matter where I grew up, but, I fragmented when I should have formed together. I've only had a few deeper losses of memory. I know I saw my sister die. I don't remember it, but one of them does.
Kana: I saw so much death as a child, so many people just...hurt, and...I couldn't help. But neither of them are bad.
Kana: I don't expect you to understand fully, but please listen.
[She paused, to fidget with her hands. She refused to meet my eue as she spoke.]
Kana: I'm co-concious, so I hear and see what the others are saying. I just wanted you to know. Everyone found out at my last school, they mocked me for it.
Kana: It isn't like in movies, it's not even noticeable sometimes. Maybe how I hold my hand or say a certain word...At worst, you'd think I was in a good or bad mood.
    [She exhaled, her eyes watering.]
Kana: There's two other girls, they're the ones I share my memories with the most. There's more, thousands, but those are the two I know about for certain.
Kana: But...One of them died, but— they can't die. She just, felt like she died. The others I've known my whole life, but her...she's big and black, with teeth and too many eyes. She's so scary, but I think you'd like her.
Kana: She keeps me safe. That's what she says. And I'm safe, when I listen to her.
[She smiled weakly, still shaken as she nested closer to me.]
Kana: I'm blabbering, sorry. This doesn't have to be a big deal. You might never have even noticed.
[She laughed, but it was too nervous and high to be happy.]
Kana: We don't have to talk about it. It's a lot. I just, wanted to be the one to tell you about it. I know it's already going around this school, I don't know why...
[Player Name]: Is your diagnosis why you wanted to go into psychology?
[She thought on it, and nodded for emphasis. An almost childish excitement was drawn out of her.]

  • You can find Aiko in the library shortly after the above moment. Aiko tells the Player about a dream she had. The dream is pretty innocent, but it has a creepy undertone. As Aiko speaks, a chilled version of her theme plays in the background that sounds dreamy, but a bit sad too.
Aiko: ...Can I tell you something? About a dream, actually. I had a dream last night. I don't have them often. You won't laugh if I tell you, right? It's just a dream after all.
[Player Name]: Sure, you can tell me. I won't laugh.
Aiko: Well... I dreamt I was a princess of all things. But I wasn't a human, per say, I had cat ears, actually. And I could fly, I think it's important that I could fly...
Aiko: Anyway, flower petals followed me around everywhere I went. There were pink skies and endless stars and moons. It was quite magical, not the sort of thing I'd normally dream.
[Player Name]: What do you normally see in your dreams?
    Aiko: Nothing.
Aiko: Anyway, when I was in the air, I couldn't see the world. Not really, not like I was really there. It was like a big maze, silver and chipped, with specs of red and green. Electricity went through it, too fast to catch the sight of.
Aiko: It felt important, the dream...Now saying it out loud, I'm not so sure. Oh, but there was one thing about it.
Aiko: At the end, I felt like someone grabbed me. What do you think it means?
    [Player Choice]:
    [Dreams don't mean anything.]
    [Running Away.]
    [Finding someone.]
Player Answer 1: I don't think dreams mean anything. It's just how your brain keeps itself amused while you're asleep. I wouldn't think about it too deeply.
Player Answer 2: It sounds like you were running away, like you were afraid. I've been chased in dreams too.
Player Answer 3: You sound pretty happy about everything that happened, not like you were afraid. It sounds like you were looking for someone.
    • Continued:
[She paused, her hand perched by her mouth.]
Aiko: The hand that grabbed me...it was this woman with short hair. She looked out of place, like she was stuck between two worlds. But her touch was electric, I've never felt so alive. Like when a rollercoaster builds up until it falls; that rush of adrenaline and life, because you feel like you're about to die. Though the term hypnic jerk is more accurate.
Aiko: Still, like you said, it's merely a dream.

  • From the OST, there's a track titled "Broken".
