- Amoral Attorney: Ted Bundy is a prosecutor who is noted for being a little too liberal with asking for death sentences. So yeah.
- Drugs Are Bad: An in-universe Dole/Bundy campaign ad featured Clinton's famous "I didn't inhale" statement, followed by an image of a child about to inject heroin.
- Faux Affably Evil: Bundy proves to be quite charming, but underneath that is a darker picture...
- Hypocrite: In the darkest sense. Bundy seeks to punish serial killers, and he has the gall to call gay people necrophiles.
- Leno Device: Appears on the Late Show, where he recounts to Letterman one of his hobbies: cooking veal.
- Let No Crisis Go to Waste: Bundy builds his reputation by helping out survivors of the Oklahoma City Bombing and earns public sympathy after being injured in the bombing of the Olympic Games in Atlanta.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: Bundy comparing gay people to necrophiliacs, although he does publicly apologize for this statement.
- President Evil: Bundy got to be president by 2001... although when we see him, he's being interrogated by DC police.
- Villain with Good Publicity: Bundy becomes a popular tough on crime prosecutor, a popular senator, and reaches out to conservatives by speaking out for protecting the family.
- Villain Protagonist: The TL focuses on Bundy's political career.
- Would Hurt a Child: It's heavily implied that Bundy murdered Jack Kemp's granddaughter and made it look like suicide just to keep Kemp too grief-stricken to be on the Republican ticket.
