Chapters

  • One chapter has Sunagawa and Toda look into a scene from Akagi and Ryoko's relationship. Both feel somewhat inadequate about what they're putting into it, but both reassure each other that their relationship is fine the way it is.
  • Yamane's confession at Comiket. He's nervous all over, bawling his eyes out, and making a damn fool of himself asking out Chiyo. Not only does she accept, but everyone around him commends his bravery and their getting together by clapping.
  • One of the Beach Episode chapters features Chiaki and Kana fighting like they usually do. Eventually she yells at him that if he hates her worst aspects so much then he should break up with her. He retorts that he would love her anyway even with those parts included. This shuts both of them up and they apologise to each other.
  • "Actual Feelings" features Furuya and Minagawa's first date. Although she teases him like usual, he is surprised by the tender smile on her face when they start holding hands.
  • "Asking for Too Much" has Yamane finally pay back for all the times Motoyama helped him with Chiyo by getting Enomoto to go on a Double Date with them at Comiket. It's nice to see such a strong relationship, and to see how far Yamane's come.
  • "Take Your Time" has Gouda, Chiaki and Keisuke feigning leg injuries so that Chizuru can get a chance and ask Sugawara to be her partner. A nice example of the guys supporting their friends.
  • Yamada's attempts to bond with Onizuka with some rapping of her own.
  • Keisuke reveals in "Escape Route" that he wants to study abroad so he can still be with Patty after graduation. Heartwarming by itself, but then after revealing this tidbit to her they finally decide to tell his parents about their dating and plan. Huge steps forward here.
  • "Present" has Furuya and Minagawa finally share their First Kiss together during Christmas. Minagawa became extraordinary flustered the whole time, and Furuya got to see all of her cute weakpoints.
  • "Animal Trail" has Ubukata, in his usual way, staying behind after band practice to help Erika through her issues. And then essentially reveals he likes her by going in for a kiss.
  • "Melting into the Night" has Ogiue and Tojo at karaoke, with Ogiue trying to get closer to Tojo, while Tojo resolves to confess to Ogiue. She reveals it quietly while watching it snow, and Ogiue tells her that he heard her and asks her to take care of him.
  • The whole culture festival really, especially for the third years, with lots of Character Developments:
    • The school play has Matsuura worry about Urara and whether or not Katori will be watching. She sends off Urara for her play with a smile and addition of her real feelings, and the play goes off without a hitch. And in the shadows, Katori watches the whole thing proud.
    • In "Miss Wabisabi", Erika sheds Tears of Joy after playing with the Light Music Club, and shows her real side to them for once. Kaji shows her mettle as a friend and doesn't mind her delinquent reputation tarnishing because of it.
    • Even though Soma lost the tournament, Saejima saw him as a spiritual equal anyways and was proud of him.
  • In "My Brother's Girlfriend"'s reprise, Minagawa finally breaks through to Hotaru, and tells her how much the girl means to her and that she wants Hotaru to see her as a sister as well. Hotaru, Tsundere as ever, admits that she doesn't hate Minagawa's teasing, but still won't say she likes her in general.
  • The reprise of "Siren" has Sonobe once and for all reaffirm his feelings for Nashimoto, telling her that he loves her the way she is now and getting her to stop her dangerous diets. After which she finally allows herself to eat solid food with him.
  • By the reprise of "Dry", Toda and Sunagawa have become much more physically expressive, and it shows; Suna asks for a kiss on his birthday, and when he's distracted by being offered an Indirect Kiss instead, she steals one from him.
  • The second "We Don't Need Women" for Yamane and Motoyama gives the latter some much needed closure after his heartbreak at Winter Comiket. Even if one of them is suffering in silence, they still have each other to fall back on in hard times.
  • Ryoko's hard work pays off: she passes her final exams despute all her fretting about the subject, and Akagi's so happy he cries. It's enough to put his usual mellow personality on hold for the rest of the chapter.
  • In Matsuura's final serial strip, her covering for Urara when she forgets her lines, and Katori's So Proud of You moment. She's come really far as a club upperclassman.
    • There's also the fact that the play she sends Katori off with is pretty much "Death to Senpai" with her (literally) in Katori's shoes this time around. Now she understands what went through his mind and a bit of his thought process, especially with Urara as her Matsuura.
  • All of "Confession" (the final chapter). After over 200 chapters, we finally get to see the confession between Kanda and Takase, and it didn't disappoint. Kanda's confession was so heartfelt that she brings Takase to tears, only able to meekly reciprocate her feelings of love and then embrace each other in the cherry blossom petals. A cheesy, but cute and fitting end to such a lighthearted series.
  • The final volume's cover features just about every character for one last goodbye. Well, everyone except Katori for some reason... but as we see on the back cover, he's there as well, giving a thumbs up to the readers as he walks away. And on the front cover, Kazuko looks towards his empty spot fondly.

Anime

  • The end of Takeru and Ayaka's segment in episode 5. Even Ayaka's teary, snotty smile manages to be completely adorable.
Ayaka: Then why did you avoid me when I tried to get next to you?
Takeru: Well... I was sweaty from club work.
Takeru: (blushing slightly and looking down) No, actually, it's because I'm shy.
    Cue the hug.
  • In episode 6, Yamane choose to go hang out with Motoyama after revealing that Kurihara has a crush on Yamane. Motoyama is angry at Yamane because Yamane's 'Bros before Hoes' statement & punched Yamane for it, then yells at Yamane that he should choose Kurihara instead, because that is the right thing to do.
  • Takeru finally kisses Ayaka in episode 8.
  • In episode 10, Yamane is too awkward towards Kurihara & vice versa, it takes Motoyama to settle things up for those two.
  • In episode 12, Kana officially asked Chiaki to become his girlfriend. On the other hand, Sugawara & Takano, more or less, become closer as well.

General

  • Kaji's slow progress in general. Where once was a girl who had plummeting grades and a tendency to be alone, we now have her gain a loving boyfriend who wants nothing but to see her succeed and her classmates praising her and helping her when they can.
