Paheli (The Riddle) is a 2005 Hindi language movie directed by Amol Palikar and produced by Gauri Khan. It stars Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. Paheli tells the story of a woman, Lachchi, and the ghost who loves her: when Lachchi's husband leaves on a business trip, the ghost uses this chance to take his place.

Paheli contains examples of:

  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience - When the ghost first takes the form of Kishanlal, his turban is more colorful, hinting at his more passionate personality.
  • Distracted by the Luxury - The ghost keeps Kishanlal's father from becoming too suspicious by giving him gold coins.
  • One-Word Title
  • Shapeshifting Lover and Shapeshifting Seducer - He takes the forms of birds, a rodent, and finally Lachchi's husband. She falls in love with him when he tells her who she is.
