• Demoted to Extra: An exaggeration with Luca, who from being the protagonist of the original movies basically becomes The Ghost.
• Disproportionate Retribution: Alberto yelled at Giulia and shoved her just because she took a sip from his favourite mug.
• The Ghost: Luca is only mentioned in this fanfic.
• Green-Eyed Monster: Alberto still feel a strong jealousy of Luca's and Giulia's friendship.
  Giulia: I don't know, maybe it's the fact that you look like you're constantly on the verge from biting my head off whenever I talk to Luca for more than five minutes. Or maybe it's that stupid face you make whenever I tag along.
• Heroic BSoD: Alberto has one after Giulia's Armor-Piercing Question.
• Heroic Self-Deprecation: Alberto has one at the beginning of the story, courtesy of Bruno.

• Hurt/Comfort Fic: Alberto has a rocky relationship with his adoptive sister Giulia and still suffers from having being abandoned by his biological father in Isola del Mare for a whole year. At the end of the story, he and Giulia warm up to each other and slowly develop a better and stronger bond.
• The Pollyanna: When Massimo adopted Alberto, Giulia, given her naturally optimistic and positive personality, was over the moon at the thought of having a new brother. Unfortunately...

• Trauma Button: Alberto suddenly gets shocked and sad after hearing Giulia's Armor-Piercing Question who remembered him of his biological father's abandonment.
• Troubled Teen: Alberto impulsivity and short-temper stem from the trauma of having been abandoned by his biological father and by thinking of not being good enough.
• Tsundere: Alberto treats Giulia with hostiliy, but deep down he cares for her and at the end of the story slowly warms up to her.
• You Are Grounded!: Massimo grounds both Giulia and Alberto for the rest of the weekend after they had a fight because Giulia drank from Alberto's mug.
