House of Brainiac is a comic book event from DC Comics, a Spring 2024 Bat Family Crossover between Superman (2023) and Action Comics. It is written by Joshua Williamson with artwork by Rafa Sandoval. It is also the first Superman event of the Dawn of DC publishing initiative.

After having been quietly built up in the background of Superman for the first year of Williamson's tenure, the crossover will see Brainiac finally make his latest play against Superman and Earth — and this time's a particular doozy for the Coluan: unleashing an army of Czarnians upon the Kryptonian's adopted homeworld.

Considering how much trouble Clark and his fellow heroic heavy hitters usually have dealing with just one Czarnian (i.e. Lobo), the Super Family and their allies will more than have their hands full dealing with a whole army of them.

But something else is also going on here, because Brainiac's not trying to miniaturize Metropolis or other Earth cities for his collection as would normally be expected. So, if he's not after Earth's cities this time around, then what's Brainaic's game? What, or who, is he seeking to collect?

This event will immediately dovetail into Absolute Power (2024), DC's 2024 Summer Crisis Crossover.

Pre-release material for House of Brainiac provides examples of:

  • Alien Invasion: Brainiac as per the norm.
  • Bat Family Crossover: The Superman event of 2024 (and the first Superman crossover since 2022's Kal-El Returns during the Infinite Frontier era).
  • Big Bad: Brainiac.
  • The Bus Came Back: Brainiac, or at least in terms of the Superman books. While he's remained a threat in the larger DC Universe in recent years (ex. Justice League: No Justice and Justice League (2018)), Brainiac hasn't really had a major presence in Clark's corner of the DCU since 2014 event Superman: Doomed.
  • Driving Question: If Brainiac isn't seeking to miniaturize and bottle Metropolis or any other Earth cities as usual, what's his game? What, or who, is the Coluan looking to collect from Earth this time?
  • Mythology Gag: In Action Comics #1064, Supergirl says "when [she] was younger, [she] used to be afraid of Brainiac", a nod to teenager Supergirl treating him as her boogeyman in Superman: Brainiac.
  • Sealed Army in a Can: Brainiac's Czarnian army, which was previously established in Superman Annual #1 to have been miniaturized and sealed away with Czarnian City in one of Brainiac's bottles.
