Humans

    Avatar Korra
A spirited and independent young woman, Korra is the current incarnation of the Avatar and the hero of Republic City. She was a little cocky when she first got to Republic City, and was just looking for a way to escape the isolation she had grown up with for most of her life. Her life changed, however, when she came face to face with a group of six ponies and a dragon who claimed to be from another world.

Tropes that apply to Princess Avatar Korra:

  • Babies Ever After: With Mako, she has a daughter named Iris by the end of the original story.
  • Break the Haughty: When she first arrived in Republic City, she was cocky and quite independent. After meeting the ponies, however, she brought herself down a peg and gained a good number of friends over the years.
  • Character Development: Over the course of the fic, Korra gains many of the qualities exhibited by each of the Mane Six, in turn becoming more benevolent while remaining strong in her own right.
  • The Hero: As the current incarnation of the Avatar and the first human alicorn princess, she's essentially this for Equestria, the Human World, and the Spirit Realm.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Twilight Sparkle.

  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: In Book 4, Korra loses all her memories of her experiences with the ponies because of something that Kuvira and the Sirens have done to her. In turn, she only has memories based on the original Legend of Korra, which is portrayed as a world that could've been if Twilight and the others hadn't appeared. Eventually, however, she gets her memories back just in time to get back in the fight and save Republic City.
  • Official Couple: Due to the author's preference, with Mako.
  • Winged Humanoid: As the first human alicorn, Korra gets a permanent set of wings.

    Mako
Leader of the Fire Ferrets, a famous pro-bending team in Republic City, Mako starts out stoic and cynical. Both he and his brother Bolin suffered the loss of their parents at the hands of a murderer when they were younger, which affected him significantly. After meeting Korra and the ponies, however, he started opening himself up more to the world and to the ponies' ideals of friendship, love, and compassion, which helped him to grow into a better person.

Tropes that apply to Mako:

    Asami Sato
The daughter of Hiroshi Sato, the founder of the company called Future Industries in Republic City, she first met Korra and the ponies at a dinner that she invited Mako to after she crashed into him on her moped. Eventually, however, she got on their good side, helping them pull through on a numerous occasions.

Tropes that apply to Asami Sato:

  • Babies Ever After: With Bolin.
  • Uncle Pennybags: Takes this role after her father revealed her true colors, even going so far as to hire Pony workers to promote harmony between both worlds.

    Princess Iris
The daughter of Avatar Korra and Mako, Iris is the first-ever human-pony hybrid. This gives her her own magical powers. Her status as the Avatar's daughter has also given her the ability to tap into the Avatar state, which in turn makes her the next Avatar. She is a smart, brave, and kind soul, who takes very much after both her parents as she aims to live up to their legacy.
