Shadow Garden

    General 
  • Dark Is Not Evil: While they are a shadow organization that committed multiple acts of violence, they are serving the the Goddess, Arachne and are only doing what they can to prevent Diabolos's rise.

Cid Kagenō/Shadow/Spider-Man

Cid dreamt one day in becoming a hero that lurked within the shadows. He got his wish when he died and met the Spider-Goddess, Arachne who offered him the life he always wanted in exchange for his help in fighting the Cult of Diabolos. He accepted it.
  • Adaptational Heroism: To the Chasm character who is a villain in the comics.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Unlike in canon where he rudely rejects Princess Alexia, Cid did this more amicably, letting the two break up on more peaceful terms.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: In canon, Cid pretends to act like an all-powerful shadow broker. Here, he actually is one.
  • Being the Hero Sucks: Cid knows full well that trying to acting like a hero and playing things by the book will only lead to misery and failure. Hence, why he decides to do things differently by creating Shadow Garden. Considering how his predecessors had died due to their hero complexes, Cid has a really good point.
  • Blood Knight: Cid loves a good fight. He lets loose a bit to fight Rose after being impressed by the girl's skills. Next, he is grinning happily in fighting one of his predecessors, Peter Parker.
  • Chosen One: He was selected by Arachne to be her avatar.
  • Emerald Power: Cid's emits this mystical emerald-colored aura from his body. His Spider-Man form's eyes, insignia and gauntlets also radiated this power.
  • Fantastic Nuke: Years of training has lead Cid's abilities to become as powerful as modern-day nuclear weaponry.
  • I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: Cid makes it adamantly clear to others, even Arachne, that he is not a hero but someone that follows true justice.
  • Kill the God: Cid's true goal is to become powerful enough to kill Diabolos.
  • The Leader: Cid is this to Shadow Garden in the Light Novels/Anime/Manga but he is utterly clueless that he is leading an actual shadow organization. In The Shadow's Web, he legitimately leads Shadow Garden to fight against the Cult of Diabolos.
  • One-Man Army: Spider-Man single-handedly held his own against, even overwhelming Princess Iris Midgar, Captain Midgar, the Six Saints and Beatrix. Of course, Cid revealed he was Just Toying with Them and if he was serious, they'd all be dead.

Midgar Kingdom

    Brian Braddock/Captain Midgar

One of Midgar Kingdom's best knights and the eldest princess, Iris's betrothed.
  • Adaptational Name Change: Since there is no Britain in that world, his name is changed from Captain Britain to Captain Midgar.
  • Arranged Marriage: The Captain is in one with Princess Iris though this is actually a Perfectly Arranged Marriage as the two of them genuinely love each other.
  • Chosen One: Like Cid, Captain Midgar possesses a power of the God, namely that belonging to the Lion God.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Word of God explains that the Captain is this, having seeing through Zenon's façade though he's unaware that Zenon is part of a cult.
  • Hero Antagonist: Captain Midgar pursues Shadow and Shadow Garden after they are framed for Lutheran's crimes.

    General 
  • Elites Are More Glamorous: The Six Saints are a team of Midgar's strongest knights that serves the royalty and the nobles.
  • Hero with an F in Good: According to Captain Midgar, the Saints don't always act "saintly".

Red Queen/Beatrix

The Red Queen is the ruler of Messfault. She also goes by another alias, Beatrix, the famed War Goddess.
  • King Incognito: She enters the Midgar Kingdom in her Beatrix guise to both learn more about the Cult of Diabolos and finding her missing niece.
  • Shapeshifting: She can alternate her appearance, easily changing from her Beatrix disguise to her true appearance.

    Arachne 

Arachne

The being that summoned Cid Kagenō to his new world. She was what remains of the Gods following their battle against Diabolos.
  • Big Good: She's trying to prevent the Cult from resurrecting Diabolos and sends in champions to stop them.
  • Last of Their Kind: Arachne is what remains of her pantheon following their battle against Diabolos.

The individuals that were bestowed the power of the Spider prior to Cid's arrival.
  • Failure Hero: All of them were unable to put up an actual match against the Cult of Diabolos. Only their latest successor, Cid is able to rectify the matter.
  • Fatal Flaw: Cid guessed that their hero complexes is what got them killed.
  • Psychic Link: Due to all of them being connected by Arachne, all of them are link to Cid hence why Peter knows a lot about his successor.
  • Secret Identity: All of them has one and till this day, no one, not even the Cult of Diabolos knew their true identities.
