Magilumiere Co. Ltd.

A modest start-up Magical Girl company.

    In General
  • Ascended Fanboy: The guys at Magilumiere are clearly fans of the magical girl genre even before the commercialization and widespread employment of them. Shigemoto wears a magical girl dress to work every day as a sign of his resolve while Nikoyama is constantly fanboying over cool Transformation Sequences and summoning circles.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: The five members of Magilumiere are off-putting to anyone they meet together, but their skill and passion for the field is out of this world and easily gather the attention of people from much more established companies. This even culminates in Sakuragi, when having to make an announcement for the company to hire new people, that they are a company "bursting with personality" to make it clear to the general public what are they walking in on.
    • Koshigaya is a delinquent-looking woman that moves on instinct alone and is often eating, but her skill on the field and fighting is unmatched, allowing her to pull off insane moves.
    • Kazuo Nikoyama is shy to the point of being almost unable to talk to anyone he just meets, but his skill on creating spells on the fly makes him an amazing engineer.
    • The company president, Shigemoto, is a man that is constantly dressed in dresses even flashier than the Magical Girls of companies. Despite this he is reliable as both a boss and a mentor, and is well connected in the industry, being able to talk with high-ranking members of the country's internal security. He's also a legendarily talented magic engineer, outstripping even Nikoyama in terms of speed and efficiency.
    • Midorikawa is Shigemoto's right-hand and a typical salaryman who loves the magical girl genre. He's also a Clock King with Hyper-Awareness capable of evaluating a situation with a glance and act as a one-man HR department with metriculous planning and scheduling.
  • Crazy Workplace: Every single employee of the titular organization is a Bunny-Ears Lawyer. For instance, the president, Shigemoto, is constantly dressed in silly anime-style magical girl outfits even while pushing pencils and giving orders. Despite employees' quirks, the small startup quickly makes a name for itself through its stellar track record and unique method of handling Kaii.
  • Non-Uniform Uniform: Particularly once Iroha and Makino join their ranks as magical girls. Sakuragi and Koshigawa use pretty much the same uniform, but Makino has a different pattern on the border of her outer skirt, while Iroha, befitting her Science Hero motif, has a much longer inner skirt and a coat similar to a lab coat.

  • Girlish Pigtails: Sakuragi wears her hair in twintails, signifying that she's only just entered the adult world. Makino actually lampshades this. She loses them for a professional and short haircut during Act Two.
Makino: Still so innocent, huh? Shoulda known with those pigtails.
Sakuragi: What are you trying to say?
  • Photographic Memory: She can recall things she had seen, read and heard even if she is preoccupied with her own thoughts.
  • Visual Development: Two fold during Part 2:
    • At her normal life, she has cut her pigtails and adopted a more professional look, even with more mature outfits.
    • As a magical girl, her outfit has changed to a way more pimped-out version with military elements to reflect her new role as the commander of Sakuragi Planning rather than just a magical girl. Her pigtails return during the transformation, but are way longer and even curl around, indicating that she has not lost her idealism despite her newly found maturity and position in the business world.

The company's first magical girl.
  • Face of a Thug: Koshigaya's piercings and dyed hair (her dark roots suggest that her natural hair color is black) are typically associated with Delinquents in Japanese culture. Makino's mental image of Koshigaya has her posing with a nail-studded bat, suggesting that she comes off in a threatening way at first glance. Despite appearances, she's still a friendly, laidback woman and a hard-working Magical Girl.
  • I Have No Daughter!: In response to her father disowning her, she also acts as if she has no father.
  • Improbable Weapon User: During Act 2, she gets a new weapon as a magical girl: super tech noodle strainers that can catch magical energy.
  • The Mentor: As the veteran magical girl of the company, she takes Sakuragi under her wing to teach her about the ropes of the business, and even how to mentor other Magical Girls she may come to have under her wing as well.

    Akane Makino
An ADPA Co. four year veteran magical girl.

She later joins Magilumiere as a new magical girl.
  • Attack Drone: In Act 2, her new magical weapon are sets of mechanical drones shaped like flowers that shoot lasers.
  • Go-Getter Girl: Makino, originally a magical girl from a different company that is eager to climb the coorporate ladder and goes above and beyond when studying to absorb all she can to use it later. She joins Magilumiere when they decide to hire more magical girls for the chance of having experience with their cutting-edge technology under her belt.

    Iroha Akasaka
RIMT'c vice-chief and magical girl.

She later joins Magilumiere as a new magical girl, for the opportunity to work alongside a legendary engineer like Shigamoto.
  • Science Hero: Akasaka, the magical girl for the RIMT, is a scientist at her work, and her outfit reflects that having lab goggles and coat as part of her magical girl outfit.

The president and founder of the company.

  • Almighty Janitor: Shigemoto is the president of a pretty small start-up, but he is heavily connected with upper level and extremely powerful and rich people and a magic engineer of legendary skill and finesse.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: He may be a dress wearing magical girl fanboy but he is also a great company president and magic code engineer.
  • Famed In-Story: He is an engineer of legendary skill, to the point that Iroha is honored to work with him. He also has a hard time getting out of a lecture when students and teachers are both elated to have him there and flood him with questions for his expertise.
  • Hidden Depths: He is no slouch in his cosplay of magical girls. As others have noticed, he pulls it off well, as well as using very high-quality materials for it.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: Shigemoto is the Benevolent Boss, founder, and leader of Magilumiere Co. Ltd. While his startup is small, he makes sure that it's filled with talented and passionate people who are as skilled as they are altruistic. He constantly gives his employees opportunities to grow personally and professionally, pays them competitive wages, and takes personal responsibility for all their actions.
  • Mysterious Past: While he initially seems like a simple kooky Benevolent Boss, it becomes increasingly clear that Shigemoto is more than your average startup boss. He has connections to the most powerful people in the magical girl industry, acts as an important consultant in meetings regarding the regulation of magical energy, and developed a unique system for countering Kaii with never-before-seen technology and minimal energy requirements. He's also a legendarily skilled magic engineer capable of rewriting and applying magic he's only seen once before while running circles around his own main magic engineer, Nikoyama.
  • Revolution From Inside: Shigemoto is trying to change the status quo of nuking Kaii, by propsing the Alice System to the higher-ups, as other companies consider the basic concept of minimizing collateral damage a waste of profits and don't care Kaii get stronger from magic leaking out.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: Kouji Shigemoto is Magilumiere's president, whose habit of cross-dressing as a magical girl at work is off-putting to newcomers, but he is capable of dispensing wise advice and is working towards improving the industry's method to deal with Kaii as they mutate. Makino notes that, even though she was taken aback by his appearance at first, she thinks he pulls off the look well.
