Godzilla

  • The Opening Theme really helps set the tone of the film and the sheer destruction that is about to unfold.
  • "Two Against One", part of which unveils the atomic breath to show the crazy inhuman strength of this beast in music.

Kong: Skull Island

Godzilla: King of the Monsters

  • The first trailer features an absolutely majestic orchestral arrangement of Claude Debussy's iconic "Clair de Lune". This classical music theme to the marketing has been followed with a TV Spot featuring an orchestral rendition of "Over the Rainbow" and an extended preview played at Wondercon using "Nessun Dorma".
  • Bear McCreary's take on Akira Ifukube's main Godzilla theme honors the original with harder-hitting orchestral melodies, while making it as unique as it is for the Monsterverse by way of adding kakegoe chanting.
  • Blue Öyster Cult's "Godzilla" is used in the film's credits, covered by Serj Tankian with instrumentals by Brendon Small and Gene Hoglan, and adds orchestal backing and Japanese chanting to make this already epic song even more awesome.
  • "Old Rivals" is a pulse pounding theme taking cues from the 2014 Godzilla theme, the classic Godzilla March, and the King Ghidorah's Terror theme.
  • A new variation on Mothra's Song, which matches the melody of the original beautifully.
  • Rodan's theme, is a fast, aggressive leitmotif, befitting the fiery flying fiend.
  • Ghidorah's theme incorporates Buddhist chanting note  along with booming orchestration to make a menacing song perfect for the three-headed destroyer. Even better, these chants are supposed to ward off evil spirits; even the music is afraid of Ghidorah.
  • "Good Bye, Old Friend", a powerful theme that eclipses Serizawa's desperation to revive Godzilla. According to sources, the vocalization used by Bear is Babylonian.
  • "Rebirth", a beautifully triumphant variant on Godzilla’s classic theme conveying the raw, emotional feeling that the king is back.
  • "Battle in Boston", an epic battle theme that perfectly blends Godzilla, Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan's themes into one.

Godzilla vs. Kong

  • Tom Holkenborg's new theme for Godzilla. It's much slowed down compared to Bear McCreary's classic take in KOTM, but the deep bass really gives it a ominous sense of "I'm coming for you!", especially when Godzilla makes his entrance for the Tasman Sea battle.
  • Mechagodzilla's theme plays like Godzilla's but with a hellish-sounding choir doubling for the bass elements.
  • Man With a Mission handled the Japanese release of the movie by Toho with additional songs for the movie and promotion. The Japanese trailer starts out with the original English soundtrack before shifting into the group's "Into the Deep" in time with the action sequences.
  • Chris Classic's "Here We Go", used in the trailer, serves as the tone setter for the film (and the entire Monsterverse) and the hype inducer with its rocking instrumentation, all just to prepare us for the big Kongfrontation between Kaiju and giant Ape.
  • "Hong Kong" is like a roller-coaster of emotions during the climax. From racing high with the titanic clash of Godzilla versus Ghidorah-Mechagodzilla, dropping down to moments of near despair for Godzilla, climbing back up at moments when Kong saves his rival, before gradually ending on a somber yet gentle pace where the two Titans finally bury the hatchet between the two of them.
