Mignon (민용) is a Korean Boys' Love ONA series directed, written and drawn by Bboong Bbang Kkyu. It was first announced in 2021, but it wasn't until two years later that it got an official release in Vimeo on August 11, 2023.

The story revolves around Mignon, a mechanic who also works as an underground kickboxer, and Oh Young-One, a doctor who regularly treats the injured in the fighting ring where Mignon works at.

For the past two and a half years, Young-One tended to each and every one Mignon's injuries. Then one night, Mignon inadvertently finds out Young-One's darkest secret, and his life is never the same after that.

Mignon provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Ambiguously Human: Master Woo knows that Young-One's a vampire and seems to be very familiar with the latter's life as one. Likewise, he himself soon proves that despite his elderly form, he's anything but frail and decrepit. However, whether he's also a fellow vampire or just a Badass Normal who's well-acquainted with the vampire world is never explicitly confirmed.
  • And Then John Was a Zombie: Mignon gets turned into a vampire near the climax.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: After being distressed from Young-One telling him to quitting his job as a fighter, Mignon breaks down and tearfully confesses his feelings.
  • Art Evolution: All of the footage from the announcement trailer is also in the animation. Though if one is to compare the scenes as shown in both the trailer and the officially released episodes, one can then see that the animation and coloring in the latter is far more polished.
  • Asshole Victim: Given how the man horribly abused Mignon for years, no one's mourning when his coach eventually gets Killed Offscreen by some thugs. Likewise, those very same thugs — given that they attempted to kill both Mignon and Young-One afterwards — aren't going to be missed either after Master Woo makes short work of them.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Mignon easily grew attached to Young-One because he was the only one who treated him with any modicum of decency.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Young-One is reserved and not one to socialize or talk much with others. However, he is still a vampire and he can be quite vicious when his temper is provoked. And there's when before Master Woo steps in to fight in his place, Young-One is prepared to take on seven men with nothing but a box cutter.
  • Blood from Every Orifice: Episode 10 reveals that anyone who gets turned into a vampire will have their body shed all their blood, which will then proceed to pour out through the person's eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and even the pores of their skin.
  • Blood Bath: During his transformation into a vampire, Mignon sheds all his blood into a bathtub, invoking the image of the trope.
  • Break His Heart to Save Him: Young-One attempts this when he learns that Mignon is in serious danger by lashing out at him and telling him to piss off, even attemping to drive the nail further in the coffin by saying that he should have killed him a long time ago. It doesn't take for long, however.
  • Brick Joke: Mignon inadvertently walked in on Young-One drinking blood because he managed to open the door to the other's office... even though it was meant to be locked, indicating that the door was in poor condition. Eight episodes later, Master Woo asks Young-One if the door has since been fixed.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: Though Mignon fights for a living, he's nothing but lively, sensitive and emotional, and can even be likened to an eager puppy.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: Both before and after knowing about the real extent of the other's feelings for him, Young-One bluntly tells Mignon that he shouldn't keep fighting in the underground ring and should work elsewhere where he won't be abused by his coach or putting his life on the line, even if that means they won't be seeing each other anymore. Then when he learns that Mignon is neck-deep in trouble with a gang, Young-One opts to drive him away with harsh words, hoping that it would hurt him into leaving for good.
  • Deceased Parents Are the Best: The official summary mentions that both of Mignon's parents died when he was still a child.
  • First-Episode Spoiler: Episode 1 ends with the reveal that Young-One is a vampire, and has been using his job as a doctor to get his food (namely, blood) from the fighters in the underground arena.
  • Healing Factor: Even after getting badly beaten, by the time Young-One arrives at the underground arena, his bruises visibly heal up and he's immediately good as new.
  • Honor Before Reason: Despite being instructed by his coach to lose on purpose in a specific fight, Mignon does the exact opposite out of fear of losing face to Young-One when he sees the latter watching him during the duel.
  • Lens Flare Censor: The animation makes use of either this or just straight-up blur effects to hide out any of the parts during Mignon and Young-One's sex scene in the final episode.
  • Meaningful Echo: When Mignon first confesses his feelings to Young-One, he says that Young-One is the only one for him. A few episodes later, Young-One makes a similar confession after finding Mignon half-dead.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Mignon realizes too late that he put both himself and Young-One in peril by winning a fight he was supposed to throw simply because he wanted to impress the latter.
  • Nobody Poops: Young-One mentions that anyone who becomes a vampire loses their bowel functions since they longer need to ingest human food.
  • The Nose Knows: Vampires are hinted to have heightened senses as while looking for Mignon, Young-One is eventually able to find him when he smells his blood nearby.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: When Master Woo takes on the thugs that attacked both Young-One and Mignon, the scene cuts to anywhere else that doesn't show the fight unfold. But it's obvious nonetheless that the old man is taking care of them with barely any effort.
  • Only a Flesh Wound: Subverted. While being chased, Mignon gets a hard hit on the head with a wrench thrown his way, but he barely reacts to what would already give him serious head trauma. This is explained by the fact that he was on acting on adrenaline, and it takes a while later until his body fully registers the injury. By then, he's already nearing death's door.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Zigzagged in the sense that when Mignon becomes a vampire, his hair turns from silver to black. While black is a normal hair color, the fact remains that his natural hair color changed as a result of his vampirification.
  • Protagonist Title: The series is named Mignon, which is also the name of the main character himself.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: While gently admonishing Mignon for not considering other job opportunities, Young-One pokes the other on the forehead with each word he utters.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Master Woo acts as a mentor of sorts to Young-One, and helps him when things get tough. When he's informed that Mignon has been turned into a vampire, Master Woo takes it very well and lets Young-One take the day off to help the fledgling.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Young-One has bright red eyes, which highlights his inhuman nature. It's soon revealed that this is a common trait for his kind, as Mignon's eyes become red in color once he becomes a vampire.
  • Scenery Porn: Every single background used in the animation, especially when it comes to the outside city, is vividly drawn and vibrantly colored.
  • Spoiler Cover: The poster shows one half of Mignon's face shadowed over, with the eye of the shadowed half colored red instead of blue. Once he becomes a vampire, his appearance changes such that his hair and eyes turn from silver to black and blue to red, respectively.
  • Status Quo Is God: Zigzagged. Even after everything that happened, the finale shows that Young-One still works as a doctor in the same underground arena. The only difference is that instead of fighting in the ring, Mignon instead works as Young-One's assistant.
  • Their First Time: Mignon and Young-One finally get to consummate their mutual feelings in the final episode.
  • Undeathly Pallor: Young-One has Raven Hair, Ivory Skin, and it doesn't take long for the audience to find out that he's also vampire and thus is for all intents and purposes, undead. However, when Mignon becomes a vampire, his skin color remains the same, which means that Young-One just has naturally pale skin; though it still does help emphasize his vampiric nature.
  • Vague Age: In the last episode, Young-One mentions that he has long since isolated himself from others because his immortality as a vampire means that he'd have to consign to watching others eventually meet a mortal end. This indicates he may be far Older Than He Looks, but the audience can only guess just how many decades old he may actually be.
  • When Elders Attack: Master Woo, despite his unseeming appearance, is able to slaughter a group of armed thugs with only some tools.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Young-One mentions that he hasn't gotten close to anyone for a while because as a vampire, he'll keep on living while all the humans around him die. Because of that, he always kept people at a distance and opted to not get attached to anyone. At least, not until he met Mignon.
  • Weakened by the Light: True to classic lore, all vampires cannot walk out during the day— a fact that Young-One warns Mignon about.
