It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

open What is the most Philosophical Movie in your opinion? Film
Just name the most philosophical movie you can think of and why.
openCustom title refers to redirect?
The page for Creator.Aaron Johnson displays as Aaron Johnson ("Aaron Taylor-Johnson" in case it changes). He has been credited this way for the last decade or so, and Creator.Aaron Taylor Johnson is a redirect. Is this a correct usage of the custom title, or should the page be moved to the redirect?
openCopyright question
Is it OK to post a short clip from 1990s footage of a police officer dragging a woman (the clip from a TV programme) under fair use laws in Off-Topic Conversations, the Law Enforcement thread, or would this violate forum rules?
It'd be a snippet from an upload of a 1990s TV show on You Tube with the footage from 1996.
The show isn't on streaming services at all, it being from 1997, but the rules say no links to illegal material, so I'm wondering if this is a gray area. Not intending to link to a full episode anyway.
Checking as I don't want the post thumped.
Edited by Merseyuser1openPermission to create subpage on recap page.
So, I'm working on a recap page for Dragon Ball Super Granolah the Survivor Arc. In order to not bother the wild mass guessing page of Dragon Ball Super (it is quite huge), could we move the theories to a WMG subpage for the recap? It was done for the Dragon Ball Super Universe Survival Arc.
Edited by TomodachiopenComplain-y Analysis
Analysis. The Worf Effect gives two examples of "how to do the trope badly". I agree with the points made, but (not watching either show) I'm not sure the specific examples are needed (or possibly could be moved to the description, minus the examples).
openYMMV removed without reasons
tropeorlesser removed two YMMV examples I added for Animator vs. Animation without giving any reason. I sent him a message two weeks ago but he hasn't responded so I cannot discuss with them and I don't know what I should do to add these examples back.
openCan a work page be created if Bleached Underpants is at work?
You know, I'm very aware that TV Tropes has a no tolerance policy for pornography. However, I've seen some exceptions occur when those works are censored to the point where they are playable without the NSFW parts. Just for curiosity's sake, is a work with Bleached Underpants allowed to have a page on them?
openAnother Odd Troper
Yeah, couple of weeks after the DL incident, found another questionable troper.
Some guy called Alosondel is currently on a spree making loads and loads of Recap Pages and Creator pages which ends on a one-sentence/paragraph stub, with their edit reasons being limited to "Starting Off" (???). Many of these have remain as stubs for over a month.
Exhibit A: Jim Fitzpatrick
Exhibit B: Gary Graham
Exhibit C: Juan Jose Campanella
Exhibit D: Gilbert Green
Exhibit E: Peter Murnik
... I can go on, but seriously, just check out their edit history

Hi.
I'd like to know how you make an image transparent here ? I know it's used for images with a white background ?
openLink to NSFW

This was on Quotes.Amazon Chaser and links to a NSFW image. I removed the link, but should I leave a note saying which image it refers to (i.e. "post 776634") or remove the entire quote since it describes an image we can't link to?

Spring Star Fangirl keeps using bad indentation even after I sent a notifier.
openThe Othersiders Live Action TV
Series. The Other Siders was created just today—and yet I can already tell that every single entry is a Zero-Context Example.
openCharacters.MetroidCreatures vs MetroidOtherAntagonists.
Characters.Metroid Creatures is orphaned... Seems to share bits with Characters.Metroid Other Antagonists... Has been edited in the last year...
Not sure if there's any info to transfer over to other pages. Can more knowledgable people help?
I suppose progressive cutting parts of it off would make checking it easier.
Edited by MaladyopenUm, what?
I found this on YMMV.Eternal Champions:
- Fandom Rivalry:Though on a minor scale, with Virtua Fighter and to a even lesser extent, Vocaloid.
Now, this is pretty much a Zero-Context Example since it fails to explain why there's a rivalry between these works, though other examples do kinda flesh out the rivalry with Virtua Fighter (apparently, Sega stopped an Eternal Champions sequel from being made because they didn't want it to cannibalize VF).
But Vocaloid? Why would a semi-obscure 90's fighting game have a rivalry with a music-production software?
Does anyone here know something about this? Because without any context, it almost sounds like its addition is an act of vandalism. The only thing that comes close to supporting this that I could find is a M.U.G.E.N video where the Eternal Champion fights Hatsune Miku.

Such as Anti-Climax Boss, a YMMV trope?
openReport Troper
Alright, there are two threads dedicated to the same problem Troper and it's getting a little ridiculous, so I'm gonna consolidate everything and file an official complaint.
A troper named DL 32918623 (edit history here) has been bouncing up this page recently because of a film called Brotherhood and its sequel, of which the pages consisted of nothing but an image that had been tweaked upwards of thirty times. It was reported here, at which point it became clear that the troper in question had blanked the page in an attempt to move it somewhere else and replace it (instead of using a disambig), only to then leave the blank page while tweaking the image constantly. This was not an isolated incident, as they created multiple subpages filled with blank folders and a few images. When confronted with this, they complained (twice) that the pages had been cut without giving them notice and proceeded to point the finger at pretty much everyone involved, including sending someone a notifier for removing a page from the index ahead of cutlisting it and outright accusing the site of not properly representing British culture (as commented below), then created another thread to help clean up their mess.
There's also evidence that they plagiarized The Other Wiki in their page for the musician Stormzy; their response to the accusation suggests that the bio is, in fact, plagiarized, though they’ve now apologized and claimed it was “a mistake”.
Overall, the issues involved include creating stub articles, blanking pages, adding unapproved images, inappropriate notifiers, plagiarism, serial tweaking, complaining when no one else would trope the works they like, opening two separate threads calling for backup to trope pages, being evasive and confrontational when confronted with their issues, and deflecting blame to the site itself for their own mistakes.

I was going through a Shout-Out page and one of the examples listed was about the band that made the opening theme song making cameo appearances in the show numerous times. Isn't that Creator Cameo?
openTroper removing images for no reason
Timon And Pumbaa 623 has been randomly removing page images for no reason. Here’s only some of the pages that they’ve done this to:
- Characters.Big City Greens
- What An Idiot
- Paper-Thin Disguise
- Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes
- Characters. The Powerpuff Girls The Heroes
- Recap.The Powerpuff Girls Special 2
- DrinkingGame.Rugrats

- TearJerker. The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy
- TearJerker.Peppa Pig
- NightmareFuel.Hey Arnold
- Franchise.SpongeBob SquarePants

- Memes.Courage The Cowardly Dog

- Recap. The Powerpuff Girls Twas The Fight Before Christmas
- Insufferable Imbecile (although this one was JAFAAC)
- Recap.Sponge Bob Square Pants S 6 E 5 The Splinter Slide Whistle Stooges
- Recap.Sponge Bob Square Pants S 3 E 2 Club Spongebob My Pretty Seahorse
And these aren’t even all of the ones removed since yesterday. I have no idea how far back this mess goes.
I’ll note that this same user was reported back on August for editing others Dethroning Moment of Suck entries.

Troper rantinanton has been spamming the TLP for the last few minutes with low-quality, non-tropeworthy drafts. Just check page one. At the time of writing this, they've made four of them in the past half an hour.
