openCharacters.EldenRingDemigods Edit Opinions Videogame
Made a few edits to the Characters.Elden Ring Demigods page, after which Fudget Muppet restored all their original wording. Don't wanna risk an Edit War, so seeking opinions here instead.
At this point, I don't think there's enough info to support the All Gays Are Pedophiles, Depraved Homosexual, or Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil entries under Mohg, Lord of Blood. That's pulling a lot of assumptions out of two sentence item description, and the relevant info can already be found under Incest-ant Admirer and Villainous Incest. I'd recommend removing the first two Tropes in their entirety, and heavily editing if not also removing the third, as that's all currently speculation.
Edited by AncientTruthopenWhat to do if the title of a game is changed, but there is no image of the new title Videogame
On March 7th, the team behind Vs. Flippy: Flipped Out! announced that the mod’s title has been changed to Vs. Flippy: Full Metal! on the official Discord server. As of writing, no title logo has been made that features the new name. What should I do in this situation?
Edited by YuriHaru567openA YMMV trope for Hogwarts Legacy… Videogame
So about this trope (and yes there is a source): Unfortunate Implications: The goblins being major antagonists. Given that Rowling’s portrayal of goblins in the franchise (treacherous, disloyal, controlling the bank) feeds into a number of Anti-Semetic views, the news was not well received.
Would Tainted by the Preview be a better fit? Should I create a separate Tainted by the Preview entry?
Edited by BigBadShadow22openTropers repeatedly adding back a Superboss in That One Boss page Videogame
On ThatOneBoss.Elden Ring, Malenia, Blade of Miquella is considered to be a Superboss, putting the boss in a trope that disqualifies it from being eligible for That One Boss as per its second NOTE.
The first time Miquella was added, it was by Tyran. Then it was removed by dragonfire5000 as per the aforementioned note, only to be added back by Tyran with a dismissive mention of "gung-ho removal". I deleted the entry unaware that Tyran had edit-warred at that point, and the entry is now rewritten poorly by Serial Tweaker failbender.
I will comment out the entry for the time being while redirecting everyone to this thread, with Tyran liable for edit-warring.
openTiny Tina’s Wonderlands Character Page Videogame
So when Tiny Tina's Wonderlands comes out on Friday, do we just create a character page and link it to the main series’ character page?
openWhat exactly is the scope of Dueling Games? Videogame
I'm confused on several stuff regarding this "page".
I was just browsing Trivia.Bayonetta 3 and saw these examples:
- Dueling Games:
- With Darksiders III, similar to the dual between the first Bayonetta and Darksiders games. Both are the third entry in their respective series of religious-themed hack n' slash games, with Darksiders III now introducing a female character as its playable lead. There also the fact that Bayonetta's developer PlatinumGames was interested in buying the Darksiders series when it was auctioned off by THQ.
- With Devil May Cry 5, a fellow hack n' slash game that belongs to a series made by the same creator as Bayonetta and is developed by Capcom, a company where many of PlatinumGames' staff previously worked. The same console rivalry with Darksiders III also applies here.
- With No More Heroes III. Both are the third numbered major entry of a hack 'n slash series, released on the Nintendo Switch, with No More Heroes III's developer Grasshopper Manufacture having once helped develop for God Hand, a game created by Clover Studio, a company that PlatinumGames used to be. Also, they have similar Bait-and-Switch opening sequences.
Thing is, Bayonetta 3 is still an upcoming game, so how come is it "dueling" with games that are already released years ago?
Maybe it's a misuse since clicking Dueling Games leads us to DuelingWorks.Games, which says the examples "had just came out around the same time with the same theme", but it doesn't say how many years that "same time" is. The page lists an example between Onechanbara (2004) and Lollipop Chainsaw (2012), which are 8 years apart. Does this mean the Bayo 3 examples above can still be valid in the future if the game eventually gets released?
Lastly, why does Dueling Games redirect to DuelingWorks.Games? The former is listed as a Trivia trope in several video games' Trivia pages, but once you're in DuelingWorks.Games itself, the page also contains tabs for Main, Film, and Headscratchers... which seem to open up two other issues:
- Clicking the "Main" tab redirects you to Game Tropes.
- Clicking the "Film" tab leads you to a film's work page that only has one trope... which is YMMV.
It looks like the redirect for Dueling Games is misplaced.

I was having some Fridge Brilliance about 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and had an alternate idea on what to call it.

openTaking The Bullet question Videogame
Hello,
I'm curious about the Taking the Bullet trope. Does it apply only to range weapons, or does a character stepping in and taking a melee attack (from a sword or a lance for example) instead of the intended victim counts too? The way the trope is worded, only ranged attacks seem to apply, though we do have a few examples in the Taking the bullet Video Games section.
So I would like to know if melee attacks are allowed/tolerated, to know if I can add an example to Triangle Strategy (otherwise, some examples in the videogame section would need a clean-up).
Edited by NonoRobotopenRemoved entry on YMMV.The Jackbox Party Pack Videogame
Part of this entry (which was previously discussed here) has been removed without an edit reason by Ry Rodrigo, which strikes me as possible agenda-based editing as it concerns a non-binary character.
This user has been called out on problematic edits before, such as here and here.
Edited by FernandoLemonresolved Checking a possible HilariousInHindsight Videogame
A little over a month ago, I wrote a creepypasta around Dragalia Lost in which I go beyond floor 50 in the Kaleidoscape. Just recently (like last night), it was announced that an upcoming update in March 23rd would add floors beyond 50.
I have to ask. Would this be addable as Hilarious in Hindsight? Wanting to know before I decide to add.
openWhat forum do I go to for Mythology Gag cleanup? Videogame
I've added some info now and then to Final Fantasy XIV, but it's kinda all over the place. It's sorted by Characters, Locations, Enemies and Bosses, Miscellaneous, when this game draws from each and every one in the franchise before and even after.
resolved Evony's warnings Videogame
Evony has this warning at the top and bottom of all subpages:
Readers are encouraged to avoid this game entirely. It is a spyware program in disguise.
Should we remove it? I mean, I already get that it's spyware, and it wasn't necessarily needed.
Edited by ChillyBeanBAMopen Fixing one of my examples for ZCE issues Videogame
On Neighbours From Hell, MacronNotes removed an example I made because it was a ZCE.
- I Ate WHAT?!: A common prank in both games, with often humorous results. They usually involve Rottweiler being tricked into eating something either obscenely spicy or something that should never be eaten in the first place.
I'm planning to rewrite it to
- I Ate WHAT?!: Rottweiler commonly gags, gasps, or screams in agony whenever he finds out that he was tricked into eating something either obscenely spicy or something that should never be eaten in the first place.
Taking this to ATT because I could end up banned for edit warring if I tried to fix it without others' input, since I originally wrote the removed entry.
Edited by Albert3105openMisaimedFandom back and forth Videogame
On the Misaimed Fandom Video Games, there has been an ongoing back and forth edit conflict between people over the character of Dark Sun Gwyndolin from Dark Souls.
Tldr; Gwyndolin was the son of the main God Gwyn, but was forced to dress and appear feminine because of the idea that the magic he uses is considered not masculine by Gwyn. There are various item descriptions from both the 1st and 3rd game that describe him as male, characters call him by masculine terms like Yorshka calling him her brother, and some of the items describe Gwyndolin disliking having to dress and appear as famine for this. Here are some items that describe him being born a male and being associated with masculine pronouns: The Darkmoon Séance Ring, the Moonlight Robe, and the Reversal Ring.
The issue is that despite this, an entry on the Misaimed Fandom page was made about people assuming Gwyndolin was a transgender woman, despite the in-game evidence suggesting this is not the case. From there, various people have either edited it to say it isn’t true, or it is. Personally, I think it should be removed at this point, because despite the in-game items making a strong case it isn’t true, it seems like this is just going to attract people to start edit warring over it. Dark Souls games have sometimes vague lore, but the items are the means the game tells some of that story, which is why the issue is still ongoing. Wanted to get peoples opinions on this so it can be decided and moved on.
As I was finishing typing this, Yerocha changed it to the following;
- Any discussion regarding the lore of Dark Souls tends to fall into two distinct types of Misaimed Fandom. On the one hand you have fans who insist on getting a single concrete answer for any character detail or background element when the story is written to be ambiguous on purpose. On the other hand is the belief that the story should follow real world logic when it very clearly does not.
- The best example of both is Dark Sun Gwyndolin's gender identity. It's canon that they were born physically male, Raised as the Opposite Gender and made to wear a ring that gives them the movements of said opposite gender. It's only via the item descriptions that we learn Gwyndolin hates wearing it despite this never being brought up in dialogue. So the first group insist that the item is 100% canon, while the second ask why he doesn't take the ring off when most of his time is spent alone. Neither train of thought is correct because the game is not supposed to be concrete or realistic.
At this point, I think it needs to just be removed, since its getting out of hand.
Edited by keyblade333openDistanced From Current Events shoehorn? Videogame
Trivia.Dragalia Lost had an entry added under Distanced from Current Events which references the Ukraine invasion. This seems like a blatant shoehorn, considering there isn't much to connect the two. Would it be cool to remove?
openMassive edits in the YMMV/Overwatch pages Videogame
Inky 100 did a lot of edits to the Overwatch - Gameplay as well as the Overwatch - Story and Lore pages, removing the Memetic Troll entries, Author's Saving Throw, Harsher and Hilarious in Hindsight and many more.
Were all those edits approved? Because the modifications were pretty significant.
Edit: nevermind, they actually gave these entries their own pages. Let this query die.

Kian Alvane
