openShould I put this under TearJerker or Woobie? Videogame
I have a habit of editing for the game Extracurricular Activities and I was wondering if I should make a Tear Jerker tab or add to the already existing Woobie tab? The example is a depressing moment in the game, but several other moments in the game are depressing and are used as Woobie justification.
openVideogame series page rename proposal Videogame
Where can I propose a rename for a videogame series page? Is here a correct place to ask about it?
The thing is, we have a VideoGame.World Of Mana page, that works as a series-wide page for the Mana series. However, World of Mana is actually the name for a compilation of several games, released in 2006-2007. More than 2/3 of the series has nothing to do with this name. Both Wikipedia and the fan wiki call the series just "Mana". I think that the page should be moved to VideoGame.Mana Series, similarly to Trails Series and Soul Series, with World... being left as a redirect. Is it a good idea?
openName correcting question Videogame
I noticed recently a number of pages on the Fate/Grand Order page have the character of Altria Pendragon using Artoria or some variation of that over the games usage of Altria. Now, I don't like the name Altria and think it's dumb, but since that is what the games official localization was told to use, that's what we use.
I've been trying to correct entries using Artoria unless they point out the name being different or the translation behind it, but I'm not sure if there is an easier way to do that since I've just been going character page by character page and Control F, which isn't super reliable.
If not no big deal but was curious if there was an easier way to find them.
openYMMV edits in samus returns and federation force : don't want to start and edit war Videogame
So forgive my interruption in the edits But Peabody Sam made some edits that insisted on readding the whole Samus essentially being worshipped thing... When it's never been really to the level a lot of people think. I would argue it never really existed to the level a lot think.
Last night at chow, Angseth starts talking about some bounty hunter and how she blew up a planet full of Space Pirates. I told her I didn't believe in fairy tales like that, and she took it personal. I just find it hard to believe that one person took out an entire Space Pirate base, that's all. But if she wants to believe in this Samus, or Bigfoot, or Santa Claus, she can. https://metroid.fandom.com/wiki/Trooper_Logs Yes totally worshipped by everyone. And even in Prime 3 when many of the NPC Federation soldiers just say things like "Sorry I can't talk right now" or "I'm busy". If they "worshipped" Samus, they would stop what they are doing just to speak with the Legendary Bounty Hunter.
From metroid prime 2 scan logs She's called the strongest warrior in the galaxy in things like this By sakamoto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afUI8nIrGgI For reference a similar sentiment is echoed in several non-canon mangas... there's this manga of episode of aether Where the space pirate boss compares heroes to a fairy tale https://www.metroid-database.com/old_site/manga/?vid=22&cid=86#manga_top https://www.metroid-database.com/old_site/manga/?vid=22&cid=86#manga_top Like it's just a myth. She gets respect for her accomplishments yes, but only those that know she exists, it's very very far from characters like Chiaki Nanami from Danganronpa.
But okay, let's go in other m Anthony praised her, maurice showed awe at her missile power and james pierce (who is the mole) actually was friendly to her and all. It's just not true Who does demean her there is the colonel; who is implied to be using that to hide the illegal activities of the bottle ship He's corrupt, so of course he would have no respect She's help in high steem yes, but never close to being worshipped or anything... and she's seen as more of a myth than anything

openName for a spin-off page Videogame
I want to create a page for a SNES game based on the Slayers franchise, but I'm unsure how to name it. Since many pages for works with trivial/repeating names distinguish them with release dates, normally, I would name the page VideoGame.Slayers 1994. However, there is another game with the same name, released for PC 98, also in 1994. Should I name it something like VideoGame.Slayers SNES or VideoGame.Slayers SFC, or is there another practice for cases like this?
Edited by VeriamoopenSonic Character Page Videogame
I notice that Sonic The Hedgehog Other Protagonists and Sonic the Hedgehog - Recurring Characters have the many of the same characters on them. Given the former isn't indexed, I presume someone was splitting up pages and forgot to delete the original?
openCharacters grouped under one folder even though they are different Videogame
In Bendy and the Ink Machine the character folders for the toon versions of Bendy, Boris, and Alice are all grouped together with their ink versions as well as Allison and Tom, despite them all being completely different people and only sharing a base species. Would it be okay if i separated them into the correct subsections?
Edited by TheLuckOfTheClawsopen"Tropes in Super Mario 64 (DS)" Videogame
I thought we had a thread on this already since it happened in the past, but apparently not, so here we go.
Tropes_Searcher has removed all of the tropes on Super Mario 64 to split them into subpages for the N64 and DS releases... again. I don't know if there was a page size warning at the time they did it this time, but it's still kind of an edit war anyway.
openHow to remove Unrelated articles from main article Videogame
So I'm fairly new to TV troops and I wanted to know something. You see, I made a article on the video game, Hopeless. I was going to go back and continue working on it since its incomplete. However, Someone added two unrelated article that were also called "hopeless." I was going to message them and tell them that they made a mistake, but I don't know if I'm suppose to do that Or if there's another way. So I want to know if theirs a way to remove unwanted or unrelated articles from the one article I made? should I contact the person who added the articles?
openNo Title Videogame
~Elias Q Funtybunt deleted this from The Stanley Parable:
- Indecisive Parody: In the Ultra Deluxe version, a large part of the new content is spent on the Narrator discussing the idea of sequels and how tacking on random, disconnected gags onto the already existing content does not substitute a good sequel. But then the game gives you the Bucket of Reassurance and spends most of its new content on reusing the existing paths and endings to make bucket-themed variations of them, effectively falling smack-dab into the pitfall it was previously mocking.
Their edit reason?
While I appreciate the reference to Raphael, the example as written seems to be exactly what an Indecisive Parody is, and the edit reason comes off as a largely opinion-based reason to axe it.
Also, are Troper pings (the forum ones) working on these Query pages now? I've seen a few Tropers and even mods use the markup, but at some point people stopped saying "hey that doesn't work here", and if this update was mentioned only on the Forums, I barely use them lmao
openNever Live It Down misuse? Videogame
I found this in YMMV.Final Fantasy XIV
- Never Live It Down:
- Dragoons being weak (that is, easily killed), carrying over their glorious reputation from Final Fantasy XI.note Due to the fact that Dragoons in XI had pet Wyverns, their attack power was low to keep them balanced. Problem was that in endgame content, the Wyverns tended to die quickly, leaving Dragoons to rely on solely on their own low attack power. In the original version of XIV, their signature jump attacks had an animation lock that left them vulnerable to attacks. But while this was fixed in ARR, the damage was already done. This, as well as being considered overshadowed by the other melee classes (since Dragoons lack in utility and suffer from a lower than average magical defense, whereas every end-game fight deals a lot of magical damages) has gotten to the point where players have requested a buff for the job. To address the issues, numerous patches enhanced the Dragoon, reducing their animation lock, increasing significantly their magical defense and making one move less dependant on player's position, making them easier to play overall.
This seems more like a misplaced Tier Induced Scrappy or Memetic Loser entry, note In fact, if you relabeled this entry under either of those tropes, you couldn't tell it was originally placed under NLID and doesn't explain how fans exaggerate the class's weaknesses and disregard its strengths. I also don't know if this talking about 1.0 or ARR in the last sentence, since the note already mentioned ARR reducing the animation lock for Dragoons.
Also, Sarcasm Mode pothole.
openPicture within a folder on a Moments page Videogame
I was checking out the Awesome.Super Smash Bros Brawl page, and I noticed that the image in that page is hidden within The Subspace Emissary folder. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the image of a Moments page is not supposed to be hidden within a folder, and should always appear at the top of the page, outside of any folders, for everyone to see?
UPDATE: This post has been resolved.

Doing some wick cleaning and came across Characters.Guild Wars. The writing in the descriptions seemed very detailed and formalized, the kind you'd see in a character guide book, so I googled them and the exact same text can be found on the Guild Wars Wikia. The pages that this impacts are
- Characters.Guild Wars Henchmen
- Characters.Guild Wars Gods
- Characters.Guild Wars Villains
- Characters.Guild Wars Others
I can't be certain which came first, these pages or the wikia, but it definitely seems suspect. I checked the history for these pages and they all were created by Khugol.
openElden Rude Videogame
EDIT: I have been beaten to the punch on this, please ignore.
Fudget Muppet is not very good at working with others when it comes to discussing examples related to Elden Ring. There might be a few more instances of something like this happening, but these are main two that sprung to mind:
- One instance that's totally visible on the Demigods discussion tab is when folks were trying to debate some things in regards to Radahn. Two tropers had a quick discussion and, when nobody else chimed in, they enacted changes to Radahn's folder. Cue Fudget reverting the changes, blasting them both, passive-aggressively linking to Implied Trope to "defend" their own side, and not participating in the discussion further. They were called out on their rudeness and uncooperativeness, but clearly it didn't take, as shown by this next bit.
- Just today, Fudget is in the middle of an Edit War regarding Godfrey's morality - they've twice removed a Draco in Leather Pants entry for him and similarly shuffled around his character sheet to accommodate for their viewpoint, with their multiple edit reasons being, paraphrased, "this is just head canon fanfic, not supported in-game, sorry LOL". The other participant, Snaplock, is genuinely trying to take this to the discussion tab to resolve things by-the-book, but Fudget doesn't seem interested at all and, seemingly out of sheer spite, they added two more examples to Godfrey's folder that portray him heroically.
openEdit War Reporting Videogame
Fudget Muppet and Snaplock are edit warring over entries on the Elden Ring. From what I found, Snaplockadded some entries that were subjective and either may have had some missing info or were wrong, but Fudget Muppet removed it without bringing it to Discussions first. In response, Snaplock readded some of them, and than Fudget Muppet removed them again.
The discussions over the entries is worth having since I honestly cannot provide a good answer (despite playing the game) due to how the stories of From Soft games are done, but neither discussed it at all.
Edit: Snaplock did take this to discussions, but for a different topic on a character page, found here.

openAlphabetization of an Appropriated Title-ridden series Videogame
There is a game series, known as VideoGame.Dragon Slayer, that suffers from a bad case of Appropriated Title. It's split into several separate parts, namely Dragon Slayer proper, Xanadu (a spinoff that spin off into a separate series, then merged back, and then separated again), The Legend of Heroes (both used Dragon Slayer title), VideoGame.Gagharv Trilogy (a part of The Legend… series, but dropped Dragon Slayer), and VideoGame.Trails Series (like Gagharv, but separate from it). While most people write stuff only about the last part, there's still a question where it should be put - under L, or T.
There's also a question of several spin-offs, like The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails and Tokyo Xanadu. They differ wildly from their parent series, and I'm unsure if they should be put together with them.
I came up with several solutions, and they all seem equally bad.
- Lump Dragon Slayer and Xanadu together, under D, and put all three The Legend of Heroes parts under the same label and the letter L. It's bad because two first TLoH games were released under Dragon Slayer.
- The above, but TLoH 1&2 moved under Dragon Slayer. Bad because later TLoH parts lose their predecessor.
- The above, but Gagharv and Trails are separated completly, ignoring The Legend… supertitle, and put under G and T respectively. While it's not unique to ignore the supertitle, it's still not a widespread practice. May also require to move some pages.
I like the third variant the most, but I'm still unsure if I should ignore the supertitle.

Most of YMMV pages for Tales Series games has an unusual formatting, namely a box at the top of the page with several links, that redirect to series-wide subpages for these tropes. See it here, for example. I think that it's convenient and want to add it elsewhere, but I've never seen this style of formatting anywhere else. Is this formatting style allowed?
