A 20-year-old troper who has always been a bit of a geek \ otaku; learning how to use a PC at a young age (As a result, he remembers many DOS commands by heart) and having a fondness of anime and other things from Japan (It all began with Sailor Moon, thanks to his older sister). Also, he's developed an interest in sci-fi series (Mostly into Doctor Who and Warehouse 13, though he enjoys some of the Star Trek series, Eureka, and MST 3 K).

He's written many stories from a young age, though his earliest work, in retrospect, is...not that great, to say the least.

Tropes present in my life

  • ADCD: I was bad about this in my early days of writing; coming up with a great idea for a story and getting it going...and then either losing interest in it, or in the case of one story I was writing, painting myself into a corner with the plot; resulting in an inability to continue the story without scrapping everything and starting over. I did start to get better about finishing the stories I started writing circa 2004; with unfinished stories becoming more of a rarity
  • Bowties Are Cool: From when I was little until about 3rd grade or so, I would almost always wear a bowtie; justifying it as I got older on grounds that I though they where cool, regardless of what my older sister said
  • Companion Cube: My fleet of PCs are all named, but the one that embodies this trope the best would be Asagi; my newest laptop, which I tend to take with me a lot
  • Cool Teacher: My 4th grade teacher; who was like the real-life version of Ms. Frizzle
  • Cross Player: I tend to alternate between male and female characters in the online RPGs I play; typically leaning more toward female characters
  • Cute Shotaro Boy: I was one of these when I was younger. Back then, I could have passed for a real-life Momigi
  • Crack Fic: Many of my stories are like this; often featuring a bizarre mix of things from Barney And Friends to Persona 3, and just about anything in-between
  • Crazy-Prepared: Whenever I'm going to be away on a trip overnight, I always pack like this
  • Determinator: I'm like this when it comes to video games; more so when I was younger, but I still don't give up easily
  • Discontinuity: I prefer to forget about that second job I had for about 2 months...
  • Doppelgänger: At one time, I was actually friends with a kid who looked like a clone of myself. However, there where enough differences to tell each other apart with; while I had gotten to where I tried to stay out of trouble, he was like a gender-flipped version of Suzumiya Haruhi; causing trouble and dragging me along
  • Dragged into Drag: Several years ago, my older sister decided that she wanted to get a picture of me in a hideous dress our grandma gave her; as she chased me around the house with it before eventually cornering me and forcing me into it. Now, had the dress not been so ugly, I wouldn't have minded too much...
  • Ending Fatigue: How I felt on the 2nd day of a trip to a family member's wedding; because my grandma insisted we stop at every single tourist trap on our way back home
  • Fun with Acronyms: I make use of this in some of my earlier stories; such as one which features a Body Swaping machine the villain called TUBSMOD (Pronounced "Tub's mod"), which stood for "The Ultimate Brain-Switching Machine Of Doom"
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: My initial reaction when my cruel older sister broke the news to me that Santa wasn't real
  • Legacy Character: I tend to reuse character names in the games I play; with Edward, Crystal, and Pentium being among the most commonly used
  • Loophole Abuse: In many situations, I look for loopholes to use to my advantage. One example came when playing a game with one of my friends; where we'd build either a boat or a plane out of Lego and had to beat your opponent to the finish line while dealing with various obstacles...but there was nothing saying we couldn't build a flying boat and bypass all obstacles with ease
  • Middle Child Syndrome: With my mom's family, it was more like Middle Grandchild Syndrome; when it came to Christmas and birthdays with my mom's family, I always got the short end of the stick
  • Ninja Maid: One of my characters in MapleStory (A female archer, for the curious) is one of these
  • Nothing Exciting Ever Happens Here: My hometown in a nutshell
  • Old Shame: Most of my stories written prior to 2003 fall under this
  • Sadist Teacher: My 5th grade teacher; who didn't even try to hide the fact that she only liked the girls in the class (Even the occasional game we'd play during class would be rigged in favor of the girls)
    • To a lesser extent, my 3rd grate teacher; who was a stereotypical "Jesus freak" that seemed to think anything that's popular is "evil"
  • Soundtrack Dissonance: Tends to pop up a lot when listening to the music on my laptop set on shuffle while writing a story or playing a game
  • Survival Mantra: I have a few, but probably my most prominent one would be reciting the lyrics to Libra Me From Hell to motivate myself to do something that seems impossible
  • Totally Radical: My older stories tend to have a lot of slang in them
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: This was part of my everyday life until the last few years of middle school. Because I wasn't obsessed over sports or had a crew cut like the other boys my age, many assumed I was really a girl
  • What a Piece of Junk: My cars are almost always like this, with my old Dodge Omni being the crowning example
    • The Alleged Car: My Dart seemed more like this after driving said Omni for so long
  • What Are Records?: Because of my love of outdated technology, this pops up a lot; such as explaining what an Atari was to my older cousin
  • Wholesome Crossdresser: I admit to enjoying this. I even have a few pictures of myself doing this, but nothing posted online...yet
  • Word Salad Title: Many of my stories tend to have titles that have little to nothing to do with the plot

Comments from other tropers

  • I saw your Sonic Screwdriver comment. Much winliness, have an Internet. Also, I really need to watch Doctor Who more. I only caught a few of 10's episodes.
