Tropes

  • Abusive Parents: Hass Basterbine, full stop. No wonder Bambietta was violent and Ax-Crazy.
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • In Fairy Tail canon, Jenny Realight was basically just Ms. Fanservice and despite being Mirajane's rival, doesn't really get any good showings. Here? She decimates an A-class monster, and would have killed an S-class one if not for it being subjected to Szayelaporro Granz's hollowification experiments. Even then, she puts up a fight before she goes down.
    • Hisui E Fiore, who was originally just a case of Royals Who Actually Do Something, is now a member of the Wizard Saints and even defeats Jura in battle.
    • Jose Porla was already a badass in cannon as one of the 10 wizard saints, but here he takes on almost the entire guild of Fairy Tail and would have killed them all if not for Makarov's timely arrival.
    • When Lucy unleashes her fullbring for the first time, she manages to defeat Juvia and Vidaldus single handily!
    • After being given one of the Celestial God Keys, Yukino is able to defeat an entire guild with a single attack.
    • After being chosen by one of the gods in Fairy Tail as their respective warrior, Shrieker was made into a Gillian Class Arrancar.
    • Levy has discovered ways to utilize Solid Script magic onto herself to give her body some buffs in attack and defense. Thanks to Ulquiorra's help, she's also learned how to use Ceros.
    • Totomaru for being trained by Yamamoto and being given a small portion of Ryujin Jakka's flames along with an asauchi.
    • In canon, it wasn't until after Tenrou Island that Wendy truly started to prove herself as a fierce warrior. Here, she proves herself more than capable during the Tower of Heaven arc when she gains the power of a Psuedo Dragon Force to defeat an Arrancar Shrieker in his resurrection!
    • In canon, God Serena was already badass enough to be considered as the #1 Wizard Saint and one of the Spriggan 12, but he was unceremoniously killed off by Acnologia while his Historia was casually defeated by Gildarts. Here, he is able to easily dominate against Tartaros' Nine Demon Gates with six of his Dragon Slayer powers and Mard Geer states that even if he, Brain, and Hades fight him together, they will lose against him.
  • Adaptational Context Change: In Chapter 64, Natsu achieves Dragon Force by eating the flames of Ryujin Jakka produced by Totamaru's sword instead of using the Etherano in the atmosphere.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Wendy Marvell appears much earlier than in canon during the Clover arc and befriends Bambietta before Phantom Lord attacks Fairy Tail.
    • God Serena in the original canon of Fairy Tail didn't appear until the final arc, here, he shows up before the Tower of Heaven arc.
    • Yukino Aguria appears much earlier here as well, now showing up before the Tower of Heaven arc.
    • Even Mary from the Avatar arc has an early appearance, this time as Meninas' sidekick!
  • Adaptation Expansion: Plenty, with attention to the backstories of Bambietta and the others
    • As explained by Candice, she and the other members of "The Bambies" originally intended to prank Bambietta into thinking that they slept on the job after Bambietta defeated Captain Komamura. After she got defeated and horribly injured by Komamura, though, things went downhill fast and led to Giselle turning her into a zombie.
    • Unlike in canon, this time we get to see all of The Wizard Saints, even if many are Expy's or Bleach characters.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Most of the main cast brought over from Bleach used to be antagonists. However, here in Earthland, many have had a change of heart, helped by the fact that they no longer live in a Crapsack World...er, afterlife anyways.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While this accounts for all of the Bleach characters who now call Fairy Tail home due to them now being main characters, special attention should given to the following.
    • Bambietta went from being a Black Widow to someone who's in a genuine loving relationship with her girlfriend Lucy, dots on Wendy like she were her daugther, and truly values her friendships within the guild.
    • The other members of "The Bambies" qualify as well, minus Giselle. In Canon proper, its debated among the Bleach fandom if any of them actually liked Bambietta. Here it's made unambiguously clear that they absolutely DO. Enough so that each of them have had massive guilt about what happened to Bambietta upon being brought over to Earthland and have sworn to do whatever they can to make proper amends with upon reuniting with Bambietta.
Adaptational Protagonist: Bambietta Basterbine was originally merely one of the Vandenreich's Stern Ritter and a side villain in Bleach's final arc, but here she is the leading character who has grown and matured greatly as the story has progressed.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Bambietta goes through this with the numerous flings she had in her past, her romance with Lucy, and well as her crush on Erza and the other occasional female characters from Fairy Tail. Lampshaded by Liltotto in Chapter 11
Liltotto: Oh, she plays both sides. You can't spell Bambietta without 'bi', you know.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Meninas gets an entire chapter unto herself to introduce her without coming across Fairy Tail members or any Bleach characters at all.
  • The Ahnold: During the mission where they encounter Reigai Rukia, Bambietta and Erza meet one Amber Schaefer, the leader of what seems to be a group of mercenaries straight out an 80's action movie who were protecting a local town's farming industry from monsters and their "guardian" (aka Rukia). As it turns out, he's the best mercenary of the kingdom of Isvan who was put under Mind Control by Doctor Dritch and forced to kill his mercenaries before the doctor created robot copies of them all, and further forced to follow the mad doctor's schemes to kill the mentioned monsters (giant bunnies called Gigalepus) and harvest their furs. Just to make sure the reference sticks, he also looks a lot like Arnold complete with sunglasses and drops many one-liners from Arnold's movies. He actually gives the exhausted Bambietta and Rukia a hard fight despite lacking any augmentations, though he's no match for Erza, and once freed and with nowhere to go he offers to guard the giant bunnies in Rukia's place to let her go to Fairy Tail.
  • Ascended Extra: Combined with They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character here, with many obscure or underutilized characters from Bleach making appearances in it. Bambietta in particular gets the most, due to her status as the Main Character. with loads of character growth, exploration and screentime.
    • Filler characters Jin Kariya, Sojiro Kusaka, Hanza Nukui, and Yin and Yang are members of Phantom Lord.
    • Liltotto and her fellow Female Sternritters all show up, with the majority sans Giselle(who's with Alvarez) and Meninas(who may join in the future) joining Fairy Tail alongside Bambietta, each having their own unique backstory and character arcs.
    • Mary goes from being a member of the relatively unimportant Avatar guild to being Meninas's Sidekick!
    • Even Reigai Rukia joins!
    • Robert Accutrone, Retsu Unohana, Jugram Haschwalth, and Jushiro Ukitake are also transported into the world of Fairy Tail and are also members of the Ten Wizard Saints (Though Ukitake's position is as an honorary member due to his illness)
    • Totomaru was originally simply a member of the element 4 and after his defeat at Natsu's hands only makes a handful of cameo appearances in Fairy Tail. Here, after the defeat of Jose Porla, he officially joins Fairy Tail and partakes in 'The Tower of Heaven' arc.
    • Death's Head Caucus was a minor dark guild who's only real representation was with its elite team Trinity Raven serving as Jellal's new Quirky Miniboss Squad after the Tower of Heaven squad have their Heel–Face Turn. Here, not only does the guild play a bigger role complete with multiple Bleach characters like Quilge, Nanana, Driscoll, and Shaz, alongside Shireker and filler characters Yoshi, Ryo Utagawa, and Makoto Kifune, their guild master Dyspute is effectively Jellal's Dragon for the arc.
    • Former Kempachis Kiganjo and Kuruyashiki are members of Quattro Cerberus along with filler-only character Maki Ichinose
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Being the Goddess of Camaraderie, as well as the Big Good, Sylphia has so much power that Bambietta can't even sense it, meaning she's somewhere in the ballpark of Ichigo and Aizen's level of power during their final clash in the Arrancar arc.
    • Mette, the daughter of Yhwach and the Neo Vandenrich's future heir, delivers a Curb-Stomp Battle battle to Brian, a man fused with the remnants of Lullaby and Deliora's souls.
    • Chapter 95 has Bambietta reveal that this was exactly why she was the 'Leader' of 'The Bambies' back in the Wandenreich.
  • The Atoner: Meifon Long's desire to enact positive reform through nonviolent means stems from her guilt over her past actions as Wang Liu Mei.
  • Ax-Crazy: She's come a long way, but Bambietta still occasionally falls into this, though it's mostly during fits of anger.
    • Giselle Gewelle and Shrieker still have this in spades, however.
  • Badass Biker: Candice both in life and in the world of Earthland.
  • Be a Whore to Get Your Man: This was an influence on Candice's early life, but she knows this is not an aesop that fits everybody. That said, she does find that people who are too shy to tell the object of their affection that they like them to be a pet peeve of hers. To the point that she will invoke this trope to get results. Right, Juvia?
  • Berserk Button: Hurting Lucy, Wendy or Levy is likely to result in a lengthy hospital visit due to Bambietta's wrath. Gajeel learned this the hard way and got a Curb-Stomp Battle that almost resulted in his death.
    • Liltotto is absolutely furious when Erza's friends from the Tower of Heaven want to bring her back, due to her own history as a slave.
    • Ulquiorra is uncharacteristically upset when Nanana tried to kill Levy in front of him. Que a Curb-Stomp Battle thanks to Ulquiorra's initial One-Winged Angel
    • When Fukuro eats Natsu, Liltotto's fury is so terrifying it reminds Gray of Erza's anger. The follow up is a brutal one-sided beat down that Liltotto inflicts on Fukuro.
    • Yhwach destroying Lisanna's grave infuriates Natsu so much that E.N.D. makes a much earlier apperance.
    • Laxus pushed the Lucy button one too many times, resulting in Bambietta's unleashing an incomplete vollstandig and almost kills him.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Aizen Sosuke of all people pulls one in chapter 67 by taking over Jade's body to fight the Guild Master of Death's Head Caucus, Dyspute.
  • Big Eater: Liltotto, natch. It stems from her traumatic experience as a slave since her enslavers barely gave her any food, essentially sustaining her on starvation rations.
  • Big Good: Sylphia, the goddess of camaraderie, for bringing over Bambietta, her friends, and many other Bleach characters on their side, to fight for the fate of humanity in a war between the gods fought by their respective champions. She's also the reason for why Meifon Long and Jade Ladro were reincarnated into this world and seems fairly protective and fond of Fairy Tail.
  • Blood Knight: Even as a redeemed member of Fairy Tail, Bambietta still takes great joy in fighting powerful opponents and slaying monsters.
  • Broad Strokes: If they appeared in Bleach, it's fair game as a character for Goshinzilla to use, even if the character in question is from a filler arc or a movie, even when the canonicity of said characters is...questionable at best.
    • The original co-author/ghost writer also has taken a "Everything solidified... so it all fits." mentality not far removed from some comic book continuities, having devised a headcanon set of twin time lines that takes everything into account that both Fairy Tail and the other half the crossover have to offer, canon and non-canon alike.
  • Brought Down to Badass: Upon arrival into Earthland, Bambietta's Schrift and Vollstandig are disabled, leaving her only with her basic Quincy abilities from the start. Still doesn't keep her from being a badass fighter, and she regains her Schrift E: The Explode during the Phantom Lord arc, even if it can't be used on living beings anymore.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Bambietta has a hard time telling Lucy that she means more to her than just a friend, until finally confessing at the end of Phantom Lord.
    • Liltotto has had a similar problem with Natsu.
  • Character Development: Quite a few characters undergo this over the course of the story
    • Bambietta Basterbine came to Fairy Tail with her long-standing violent impulses and her more recent trust issues. The latter was quick to fade, and while the positive influence of wizards Like Erza and Wendy has helped curbed the former, it does still rear its ugly head when push comes to shove.
    • Liltotto Lamperd has some self-loathing issues due to her not interfering with Bambietta's death at Giselle's hands, willing to die many times over if that's what it takes to atone. It takes the combined efforts of Erza and Bambietta to finally help her get over her guilt.
    • Meninas Mcallon also had her own case of self-loathing due to Bambietta's death, losing faith in herself and the concept of hero's as a whole, but after seeing Mary risk her life and trying to be a hero herself, Meninas decides to take up the mantle of a hero once more.
    • Ulquiorra, now given a 2nd chance at life, is starting to slowly learn more about "The Heart" with the help of Levy and the rest of Fairy Tail.
    • Due to meeting Fairy Tail before the Phantom Lord arc begins, Totomaru views Fairy Tail with much more respect and eventually revolts along with Juvia after realizing that their guild master has gone mad with his desire for revenge.
    • Yhwach, the Big Bad of Bleach's final arc, is implied to be the biggest case here, as he now has a daughter he seems to genuinely care for, as well as a deceased wife he met in his time in Earthland.
    • Wendy Marvel gets her Took a Level in Badass moment as early as the Tower of Heaven.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle : Many characters experience this throughout the story, usually due to pressing a character's Berserk Button.
    • Gajeel's fight with Bambietta starts off well enough, but the moment she finds out he's the one who pinned Levy to a tree in Magnolia, things go downhill fast, even if he manages to get a few licks in. If not for Fairy Tail being a Positive Friend Influence alongside her having a My God, What Have I Done? when she has him at swordpoint he likely would have died.
    • Hanza Nukui is defeated by Bambietta quite handily after she gets "The Explode" back.
    • Despite being an Wizard Saint Siegrain goes through one when Yhwach stops him from killing Jose Porla.
    • With the exception of a former, mind-controlled wizard saint, Meninas defeats everyone in her introduction chapter in one punch! as well as an S class Chimera she fights to save Natsu.
    • Liltotto easily manages to defeat Wally, Millianna, Sho and Simon after they try to get Erza brought back to the tower. Pressing her Berserk Button likely didn't help matters. That's why the rest of Death's Head Caucus shows up to get things on track.
    • Ulquiorra dishes one out in his first appearance against Cruze.
    • Mette, daughter of Yhwach delivers one to a dark mage given the powers of Deliora and Lullaby.
    • Ulquiorra is on the receiving end of this at first when he battles Nanana in his Vollstangdig and after being hit by "The Underbelly." but then quickly turns things around and delivers one to Nanana after activating his Ressurecion.
    • Liltotto's fight with Fukuro is by far the most one-sided fight in the entire Tower of Heaven arc. No matter what he tries, the owlman just can't hurt her. Eating Natsu right in front of her probably wasn't a good idea.
    • When Shrieker activates his ressurecion, Wendy is on the receiving end of this. Fortunately, after a Motivational Speech from Bambietta, Wendy gains the power of a Pseudo Dragon Force and begins to deliver one back to Shrieker.
    • For a while, Ikaruga is dishing out one to both Bambietta and Candice once she gets serious. Luckily, Bambietta deals out one to Ikaruga once she temporarily unlocks her Super Mode.
    • Dyspute, Guild Master of Death's Head Caucus, gives a brutal one to the Fairy Tail guild minus Bambietta and Liltotto, who at least have the excuse of being somewhat worn out from their previous battles (not to mention Ulquiorra's power still being partially sealed by Nanana's "Underbelly"), though Natsu, Lucy, and Candice manage to get a few good hits in. Only to be on the brutal receiving end in turn after Aizen takes over Jade's body and pulls a Big Damn Heroes on him, with not even Dyspute pulling out both Deus Anima and his shadow copies able to truly give Aizen pause.
    • In Chapter 69, God Serena proves why he's still the #1 Wizard Saint despite Robert, Unohana, and Haschwalth being among their number by fighting and killing five members of Tartaros' Nine Demon Gates (four of them in Etherious Form), with only Jackal's most powerful Bomb Curse (explicitly stated to be able to destroy a city several times over) and Kyoka's Enchantment Curse giving him real trouble.
    • In chapter 71 While Bambietta and Liltotto are able to inflict some damage to Jellal in their attempt to save Erza, by and large all of their attacks either miss completly or do little to no damage. Not even Liltotto using her Vollstandig is enough to turn the tide.
    • Yhwach handily defeats most of Fairy Tail without even using his full power in chapter 80. That is until E.N.D makes an early appearance.
    • Emberella dishes one out to Rukia, Cana and Laki, and even towards her adoptive daughter Jade. The battle with Candice, while even at first, turns in her favor once she uses her Devil Slayer Magic and effortlessly defeats Candice...until she unleashes an imperfect vollstandig to inflict one on her instead.
    • Laxus's initial battle with Bambietta absolutely qualifies, as he deals with her with little effort. Lucy's intervention briefly turns the tide back in their favor untill he gets serious with Dragon Slaying magic. However, after beating the absolute hell out of Lucy, Bambietta unleashes a Incomplete Vollstandig to utterly trounce Laxus.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: While most of their attempts at hurting Jellal fail completely, Bambietta and Liltotto do manage to inflict some damage with their Finishing Move and Deadly Upgrade powerups.
    • After Erza use's Armadura Fairy, Jellal is quickly placed on the back foot and for most of the battle, he can't so much as hurt her. However, once he uses his Dangerous Forbidden Technique, he's able to put up much more of a fight.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As it turns out, nearly all of "The Bambies" (and others) have this in one form or another
    • Bambietta first witnessed her mother Liebe sacrifice herself to save her from a Hollow Bambietta accidentally summoned with Hollow bait, then had to endure an abusive childhood under her father
    • Liltotto was sold off alongside her sister by their parents as slaves to work off their debt, with her sister dying from overexertion. Liltotto was forced to churn butter until she got caught sampling the goods and was moved into the kitchen...where she still wasn't allowed to eat the food. Eventually, she broke and used a kitchen knife to kill the chef and herself. Then Yhwach stepped in.
    • Meninas once wanted to become a hero just like those she saw in comic books as a child, but witnessing a Soul Reaper kill her parents and a neighbor made her lose faith in being one before Yhwach recruited her into the Vandenreich
    • Candice was influenced by the movie Grease and idolized Sandy Dumbrowski's transformation at the end of the movie. She went from a doe-eyed glasses-wearing nerd to a jacket-wearing, cigarette-smoking outlaw. At first, chance, after the boys enamored with her bought her a bike, she left New York and tore off west, getting in trouble with the law and finding love. And then she drove past the speed limit into oncoming traffic on a bridge during a thunderstorm because she was a Teen Rebel. You can guess how that went. Upon waking up as a spirit, she accidentally shoved her boyfriend off the bridge and ended up tumbling backward off it herself after she realized what she just did. Yhwach appeared before her not long after.
    • Emberella's family used to work for Crawford until they found about his ties to Tartaros, leading to Crawford ordering their deaths to prevent them from exposing his shady dealings. He then made Emberella his slave before she managed to escape and join Grimoire Heart.
  • Death Glare: Liltotto gives one to Fukuro after he eats Natsu, which Gray feels is about on par with one of Erza's terrifying glares. It doesn't go well for him.
    • In chapter 95 After Laxus beats the absolute hell out of Lucy, Bambietta gives one of these, enough that it actually SCARES him, before she unleashes her [[Supermode incomplete Vollstandig.]]
  • Doorstopper: Currently at 95 chapters and 1,475,611 words and counting
  • The Dreaded: Yhwach's appearance in the story has this effect on Siegrain, Haschwalth, and even the gods of Earthland.
    • The Four Gods of Ishgar (God Serena, Jugram Haschwalth, Retsu Unohana and Robert Accrutone) are this to the Balam Alliance as Mard Geer explained to Kyoka that they are the reason why the top 3 Dark Guilds continue to operate in the shadows despite their great powers.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Haschwalth tried to utilize this trope by putting Bambietta in charge of boot camp during Candice's early days in the Vandenreich. While the situation was resolved...it didn't exactly go as planned.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Nanana really hates it when Bambietta calls him "Nananana Batman." Nanananananananana isn't any better in his eyes either.
  • Ethical Slut: Candice. It ties in with her Hidden Depths and her entry for Everyone Has Standards trope below. Her life experiences have taught her well enough how to be cautious and pragmatic, but she will bang anything if it looks fuckable.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Quilge Opie was a soldier in Nazi Germany who believed that true utopia could only come about by killing off the weak so that only the strong remained. However, even he found Hitler's final solution to be nothing short of madness.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Driscoll Berci loved his wife Trisha dearly, so much so that he joined up with the Vandenreich to avenge her death at the hands of a group of Shinigami. He realizes that his desire for vengeance has not helped him get any closure and lets go of his past hate after his defeat by Gray and Natsu.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • While Candice is notorious for sleeping around with men and women not only will she not sleep with desperate, creepy old guys like Macao and Wakaba, but she also doesn't consider herself a homewrecker. If someone's taken, she backs off. She also knows that no means no. Anything involving Pepe Waccadabria applies too, as Bambietta's memory can attest to.
    • Liltotto has the powers of "The Love" thanks to eating Pepe, but she absolutely refuses to use it for anything for this exact reason, even to win the heart of Natsu, whom she has a massive crush on.
    • All of 'The Bambies' were disgusted by Giselle zombifying Bambietta due to this.
  • Expy: Some characters bear uncanny parallels to other fictional characters
    • Amber is this for Arnold Schwarzenegger, most notably the Terminator.
    • Elizabeth Heartkreuz for Lizbeth
    • Jade Ladro and Emberella have a similar dynamic to Emerald Sustrai and Cinder Fall and share traits of both characters.
    • Johnathan Bosco of the Neo Vandenriech for Lelouch Lamperouge The name doubles as an Actor Allusion for his English dub voice actor.
    • Meifon Long for Wang Liu Mei given that she is Liu Mei's reincarnation.
    • Ria Gregory of the Neo Vandenriech for Rias Gremory
    • Mette, Yhwach's daugther, has a design based off of that of Melfina. Her personality seems similar, though it has it's share of differences as well.
  • Fantastic Racism: Bambietta, Candice and Liltotto are...understandably leery of Ulquiorra joining Fairy Tail given the respective interactions of their species. Bambietta has quickly gotten over this, though Candice still doesn't trust him as of yet.
    • Nanana has this in spades though as seen in his battle with Ulquiorra
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Giselle is on her way to becoming this to the rest of 'The Bambies' after what happened with Bambietta as she's the only one that doesn't show any remorse for what happened to Bambietta.
  • Go Mad from the Isolation: As it turns out, Aizen learns the hard way that for all his godly power and incredible intellect, spending 20,000 years alone with only your thoughts and the ability to move and see through one eye in a void does things to a person. By the time Slyphia showed up to offer him a chance to be free of his prison, only 10,000 years had passed and he could feel his mind starting to fray at the edges, and it took all his willpower not to show relief at just being able to hear another person's voice again.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Bambietta's curse-filled tirade after finding out that Giselle is on the same side she is for the upcoming war between the gods becomes this due to the Magical Profanity Filter Sylphia has on her dimension.
  • He Had a Name: Erza Screams this at Jellal after he Kills Liltotto and simply calls her 'worthless refuse'. That ...was a mistake.
  • Hidden Depths: Candice in particular, in contrast to Meninas, Bambietta and Liltotto, shows that she's already had her Character Development while she was in the Vandenreich. Instead, her street smarts and real life experiences, or as she might call it a "conga line whirlwind of failures", help shape her character. As she shows to Liltotto in one particular chapter, while she acts vulgar and sleeps with anything that moves, she means well. She specifically mentions wanting to keep the happy, innocent members of Fairy Tail smiling and to "protect their smiles" so that they don't end up like her. While she doesn't regret any of her past actions, given they shaped who she is, she also knows that not everyone needs to sleep around and curse a lot like she does. See Ethical Slut above.
  • Just Friends: The author has made it clear in his author's notes that this is how Liltottos crush on Natsu subplot will resolve.
  • Kill the God: Yhwach's Zero Deities Plan amounts to this to avenge the death of his wife at the hands of the goddess of despair and also ensure that mankind no longer has to suffer under the hands of the gods and their petty machinations.
  • Lady Killer In Love: Gender inversion. Bambietta is used to one-night stands or Friends with Benefits so she's not used to the whole stable relationship thing she has with Lucy. She's slowly getting better at it.
  • Mind Rape: Bambietta suffers this at the hands of Hanza Nukui thanks to his Bakotto Saiga forcing her to relive her worst memories. She manages to break out of it and defeat Hanza.
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
    • Bambietta when she realizes exactly what the Vandenreich was.
    • Bambietta again when her morality starts to get the better of her regarding her habits.
    • Candice exhibits this trope in her backstory when she accidentally pushes her fiance off a bridge.
    • Quilge after Erza uses Fridge Logic to explain why his plan for a true utopia would never work, causing him to realize all the evil he committed was for nothing to the point where he almost commits suicide till Erza convinces him there are other ways to atone.
  • My Greatest Failure: Candice, Liltotto and Meninas are definitely affected by what Giselle did to Bambietta, considering the end result to be of terrible consequence. When Bambietta runs into the former two, they spend a good portion of their introduction reconciling and explaining themselves. Meninas spends an entire chapter, by comparison, rediscovering herself as she hasn't run into Bambietta yet.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: Jade feels this way regarding Emberella and her plan to take over Fairy Tail's minds as her new underlings. She seem's to be slowly getting over this though thanks to Fairy Tail (Candice in particular) being Positive Friend Influence to her, as well as Aizen's interventions.
  • Mook Horror Show: The Sahuagin experience this as Bambietta annihilates their forces on their way to the tower of heaven. There are no survivors.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Gender inverted. Candice tries to sleep with Elfman, shamelessly flirting with him in front of Mirajane. Mira, after concluding that Candice has no intention of marrying Elfman has a wee chat with the quincy. We aren't shown what she did or said, but Candice—wisely—hasn't tried to sleep with Elfman since.
  • The Nicknamer:
    • Bambietta has come up with two for her fellow Sternritter besides 'The Bambies'. Hashbrown for Jugram Haschwalth, and Nananana Batman for Nanana Najahkoop
    • Candice seems to have a habit of this, coming up with nicknames for Erza (Twizzler), Gray (Ice Pop), Mirajane (Sprinkles), Cana (Coconut), Totomaru (Skunk Stripe), Giselle (Cockroach), Alzack (Trick Shot), Bisca (Sunshine), and Juvia (Rain Drop) of note.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: After Liltotto's death, Erza uses Armadura Fairy and gives Jellal one of the longest one-sided beatings in the story thus far.
  • "No More Holding Back" Speech: Meninas makes one in her introductory chapter to put to rest her inner struggles about her own ideals about heroism.
  • No-Sell: None of Siegrain's attacks have any effect on Yhwach and it quickly turns into a Curb-Stomp Battle
    • With only one exception, Meninas has done this to everyone she's fought before she delivers a One-Hit Kill
    • Ulquiorra's battle with Faben Cruz results in none of the dark guild masters' attacks doing any damage to him at all.
    • Liltotto is completely unphased by Fukuro's attacks, even once he starts using Natsu's stolen Fire Dragon Slayer magic.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist Quilge wants to create a true utopia...by killing off the weak so that only the strong remain, therefore leaving no one to push around. While he sees himself as a Well-Intentioned Extremist, Erza calls him out on what he truly is, though he comes to realize the truth by the end of their battle.
  • Official Couple: Bambietta and Lucy are currently the only characters to be engaged in a relationship non-existent in canon.
    • Gray and Juvia also have this status way, way earlier thanks to Candice's intervention.
  • One-Hit Kill: Meninas has dealt these out to anyone she's fought, with the exception of a former Wizard Saint, though he falls in one hit after she gets serious and uses her shrift. Gee, doesn't that sound familiar?
  • Only Sane Man: Jade was this for Candice during their time on the road together...and still is even in the guild.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Ulquiorra releasing his Zanpakuto wouldn't ordinarily be this, but the raw anger to protect Levy that sparks it that makes him throw caution to the wind to do so certainly qualifies.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Emberella inflicts thirty minutes of Cold-Blooded Torture on Crawford Seam after he is arrested and imprisoned for his crimes. Considering how the former chairman of the Magic Council was responsible for killing Emberella's entire family and making her his slave, he has every moment of his torture coming to him.
  • Perception Filter: The dimension that Sylphia uses to talk to Bambietta in has this, which comes in handy when she starts to curse up a storm after finding out that Giselle is on the same side she is for the upcoming war between the gods.
  • Power Levels: Since chapter 15, the writers have given power levels of various characters through the story at the end of a given chapter, using the established power level system used in Fairy Tail in the GMG.
  • Positive Friend Influence: Fairy Tail is this for Bambietta and her fellow Female Sternritters.
    • Jade Ladro is slowly beginning to lose faith in her surrogate mother due to Fairy Tail's influence, Candice in particular plays a rather large role in this.
    • Ulquiorra slowly learning the value of friendship and "the heart" thanks to Levy in particular.
    • Of mention for Bambietta, Wendy in particular seems to make Bambietta's heart melt the most.
    • This seems like it might be the case for Mary given the influence Meninas has had on her. Time will tell of course.
  • Really Gets Around: Candice was this in her past, and shades of it still remain albeit more subdued. That said, that we know of, she has slept with Bazz-B, Cana, Loke, Laxus, Bambietta herself, and has extended bedroom invitations to Totomaru, Jade, Rukia, and Elfman. Mirajane was not happy about that last one.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Both Bambietta and Liltotto give one to Giselle when they run into her.
    • Liltotto really lays into Fukuro about why his stolen flames could never compare to Natsu's which were honed with years of training and experiance.
    • Erza gives one to Quilge after hearing his motivations both during and after their battle. This along with her using Fridge Logic to explain why his plan would never work, allows Quilge to see the error's of his ways and repent.
  • Refuge in Audacity: In Candice's backstory, flipping off Yhwach actually impressed him.
  • Running Gag: Bambietta's snoring has been likened to a monster growls in the early chapter and has many a time prevented people from sleeping until Wendy finally fixed it.
    • Loke is constantly mistaken for Ichigo Kurosaki by characters from the Bleach Universe. Even Ulquiorra makes this mistake!
    • People constantly referring to Nanana Najahkoop as Nanananananana Batman, much to his ire.
  • Sealed Badass in a Can: Jade Ladro has Sosuke Aizen, of all people, sharing her body.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: While Bambietta is watching her language mostly due to Wendy's presence, Candice has no such limitations to the point that Bambietta started a swear jar to curb the runnings of her mouth. It...isn't working.
  • Shipper on Deck: Candice is this for both Gray and Juvia as well as Alzack and Bisca.
  • Ship Tease: Given that Lucy is now with Bambietta, Natsu is presently being shipped primarily with Liltotto,(Though the author has made it clear in his author's notes it's one-sided since all romantic thoughts come from Liltotto, and Natsu views her more like a sister/friend) although his brief interaction with Meninas has also raised a few eyebrows.
  • Shout-Out: Quite a few appear.
  • Spin-Off: Redemption V, where Vanica Zogratis from Black Clover ends up in Fiore sometime after Tenrou Island.
  • Take That!: Goshinzilla himself admits that the first scene of chapter 90 is this, though less in regard to the Q&A Kubo gave for 'The Bambi's ranking with Blute and Hand to hand (which he largely agrees with actually) but rather the people taking it out of context to make Bambietta look much weaker than she should be.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Wendy accesses Proto-Dragon Force during her fight against Shrieker thanks to a Motivational Speech from Bambietta to handily demolish Shrieker.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Plenty of characters go through this.
    • Bambietta becomes a nicer person thanks to Fairy Tail and even becomes a Cool Big Sis figure for Wendy.
    • Jugram Haschwalth seems like a much more open and caring individual, being particularly loyal to Princess Hisui.
    • Yhwach is much more forgiving and caring than in canon due to the influence of his wife and daughter, as noted by Lille Barro.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Bambi and Candice to a T. Candice's introductory chapter and the chapter that follows shows that the two are very good friends and will snip at each other every chance they get.
  • We Can Rule Together: Dyspute of Death's Dead Caucus tries to pull this on Aizen once it becomes clear to him he really is out-matched and is about to die, arguing that his superior strength to the fallen Fairy Tail members makes working with him far better in the long-term. Aizen agrees Dyspute's stronger at this moment, but then states that most of the fallen Fairy Tail members have untapped potential leaps and bounds beyond what Dyspute can offer and that even at worst Aizen would rather stick with them for use in potential future plans than work with Dyspute.
  • We Used to Be Friends: This is how all 'The Bambies' regard Giselle due to her turning Bambietta into her zombified slave. Overlaps with The Friend Nobody Likes above.
  • What You Are in the Dark: Bambietta has the chance to leave Hanza to die to his own Bakoto Saiga going out of control and devouring him and is sorely tempted, especially since she's sore about the whole Mind Rape he dealt her, but she can't because that's what the Bambietta of the Vandenreich would do and she's determined to rise above that. She destroys the weapon but makes sure to knock him unconscious.
  • When All You Have Is a Hammer…: When it comes to a fight, Meninas usually only has to ask herself one question: would hitting an enemy harder solve the problem?
  • Who's on First?: Done very briefly during Bambietta's first meeting with Happy, mistaking his name for his emotion given she thought he was looking up her skirt.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Bambietta does not like rabbits due to the Hollow that ended up killing her mother looking like one.
  • Wild Card: This is what Yhwach is seen as by the Ten Wizard Saints due to his god-like capabilities and unknown aims.
  • The Worf Barrage: A staple of both Bleach and Fairy Tail and this fic is no different with characters launching incredibly powerful attacks only to be left gobsmacked when they fail to have the effects they want. Stand-out examples include: Bambietta tanking and negating Gajeel's strongest Iron Dragon's Roar, Fukuro failing to significantly harm Liltotto with a barrage of Fire Dragon Slayer techniques, and the entirety of Dyspute vs. Aizen, where the former spends practically the entire fight hyping up the killing power of his techniques only for his foe to No-Sell each and every one.
  • World's Strongest Man: God Serena is still the #1 Wizard Saint of Ishgar despite several high-tier characters from Bleach being among their number, with even them acknowledging he's still stronger than them. According to a flashback from Kyoka, Mard Geer himself respects him and states even if he, Zero, and Hades fought him together, they'd still lose.
  • Yandere: Giselle wavers between being creepy and Played for Laughs depending on the circumstances for this trope. Though in a lot of circumstances, she tries to be the latter, very much the same as Fairy Tail's own Juvia, but it's clear Bambietta wants her as far away from her as possible for...understandable reasons.
  • You Remind Me of X: Mirajane's...erm...smiles remind Bambi and others of Retsu Unohana.

Redemption V

Tropes related to the side story of 'A Quincys Fairy Tail.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Vanica's battle with the recently escaped Eisenwald guild is this, despite them out numbering her fifty to one. It's so one sided in fact that Vanica can't even fully enjoy it.
    • At first, it seems like Vanica found a Worthy Opponent in the form of Schwarzwald, the Guild Master of Eisenwald. However, it's eventually revealed that Vanica wasn't even using 10% of her power until she powers up against his best spell.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: After a long, drawn-out battle, with both Natsu and Vanica being the dominant fighter at various points, Natsu finally managed to turn the tide definitively in his favor by activating 'Lightning Flame Dragon Mode.' Once he does, Vanica is completely on the back foot and totally out classed. However, it's worth noting that she was using only 49% of her power due to the fear she had of Megicula retaking control of her body. Once she uses a spell equivalent to 70% of her power, she actually pushes Natsu back considerably untill he eventually defeated her.
  • Hostage Situation: Eisenwald had planned on capturing Wendy as part of a plan to get revenge on Fairy Tail. Unfortunately for them, Vanica had other plans.
  • 20 Minutes into the Future: At the time of its initial chapter, 'A Quincy's Fairy Tail' was in the middle of the Battle of Fairy Tail. Redemption V, meanwhile, takes place sometime after Tenrou Island.
  • Underestimating Badassery: At first, Vanica doesn't think too highly of Nastu, and simply assumes he's a Stage One Wizard. She quickly finds out however, just how wrong she was. However, this being Vanica, she's actually quite fine with this.
  • Worf Barrage: After being held in place by a trap set up by Eisenwald, the entire guild blasts Vanica with spells. She didn't even have a scratch.
